Scummy stores in your town

Definately our Kmart! Very yucky. Our Walmart (which is about 15 miles from here) is very very clean.

If it's a Wal-Mart, Albertson's or Winn-Dixie, you can bet it's dirty as heck here. :scared1:

There was a little craft store that my mother and I walked into one day and walked right back out within two minutes! Hoooooleeeeeeeee COW! That place was a mess beyond belief. The owner was an older lady who had about 20 cats running around the store. These cats were everywhere. I've never seen any frickin' thing quite like it! The cats obviously didn't have litter box access because the cats had pissed all over the place, including on the thousands of craft books that lay around in piles. I'm not kidding, you could see the yellow pee stains on the books....row after row of filthy smelly books. Unreal. When I walked into this store, my eyeballs burned like somebody threw acid into them. I started to sneeze without control and we walked out. My mom almost barfed. It was THAT bad!

Thank God that place was torn down 4 or 5 years ago and now we have a nice shiney Walgreens! :)

Our K-mart is also pretty nasty, but Walmart is great! It's the cleanest department store around.

Well, if there were actually any real stores in my town, I suppose I could comment. But the nearest chain grocery store, nearest Walmart, and nearest Target are all at least 30 minutes away...P

I LOVE Ocean State..... I am willing to put up with the "scuz" factor for the great bargains! I don't feel any dirtier after I leave there than I do after leaving Home Depot!...................P

I have to say that the dollar stores I have been in really made me think scuzzy, but I don't shop there ever any more. There's one WalMart around that really is dirty looking, but the one closer to my house is ALWAYS immaculate. Someone is always cleaning when I am there. I think management can have something to do with a store and how much they care about appearances.

Along with the other MN posters, Cub and Target are always clean.

One Walmart here is pretty nasty. The other Walmart, a bit further away, is beautiful.

We have a SuperK that is pretty scary and a Tops grocery store that scares me as well.

Our closest Wal-Mart is pretty good and we don't have any K-Marts any more so I guess that our tackiest store is an Albertson's. It's not exactly dirty but it's cluttered and just plain ugly. (And don't get me started on the bad service there. )

We have a local store here called "Marden's" now grant you it isn't supposed to be fancy- they sell salvaged merchandise.... but it is so nasty that I feel like I need to take a shower after I have been there (which isn't often) My dh and most of my friends love it... it makes me sick.
LOL! We used to love Marden's when we lived in Bangor around1989 . I don't remember it being that bad, maybe it's worse now.

2 words......Big Lots. Very dirty.

There used to be a Food Lion grocery store near my house and it was always filthy. It smelled like mildew and mothballs. All the Food Lions around here have closed now.

There is a Pic-N-Sav (everyone insert your own joke here) which is located in a little town east of Pensacola.

This store can be truly nasty but going there can make for some great entertainment.:teeth: Friday or Saturday nights are especially good for mullet watching. I also think this is a "teeth optional" grocery store:crazy:

Our K-marts are pretty scuzzy as is the closest Meijers. I probably wouldn't have thought it was dirty until I tried on a pair of shoes and saw how dusty/dirty they looked after I walked a little in them. Meijers isn't near as bad as Kmart though. Walmart isn't very nice here either. And lately I've felt scuzzy after coming out of Kohls around here. Not sure why but I just come out and want to take a shower
