My parents and I are looking at the two-tank dive excursion through DCL at Grand Cayman this year (we're all PADI certified). I have looked at some other threads and it sounds like a fun experience! Just interested in learning a little bit more about it: does DCL still use Red Sail? I've never been on a cruise that required a tender -- what is that process like? Long/Complicated? And how long is the actual dive -- standard 3-4 hours? At what time does the excursion typically depart and how many people are usually on the boat?

That was a lot more questions than I thought I had. :)

I've gone scuba diving in GC a few times while cruising with Disney. Without looking at my dive log I'm not 100% positive we used Red Sail because I typically dive at all the ports I can so sometimes I get the dive companies mixed up. The tender process is smooth and takes less than five minutes once everyone boards. The dive is typically 3/4 hours like you mentioned. If I recall I believe we where on the tender about 7AM and the dive boat has anywhere between 6 to 8 divers. This could change depending on how many other cruise ships are in port. Send me a PM if you have any other questions regarding diving while cruising with Disney.

We did that last May. It was with Red Sail at that time. We loved it. There were maybe 8 divers. One dive was shallow (40-50 ft) the other was deep (100 ft). The dive masters were really nice and helpful. Great dive!

Thanks for the quick response! I'm definitely looking forward to this!
