Screenshot Your ADR and FP+ Or Not?

would it really be so hard for Disney to give a conf # like they do for ADR's with your FP+ ressies? Just in case? I mean isn't that they whole reason that you get a conf # when you make a dining ressie so just "in case" it gets lost or whatever in our wonderful world of technology? This is another reason I loved legacy FP so much! You cannot argue a ticket that shows a return time that you can physically hold in you hand. I have 7DMT and Anna/Elsa FP+ set up at our 60 day mark and if they went poof I would be so upset. :furious:

Plus let's say you did make 3 and then do a print out or screen shot or whatever and then delete it immediately after and then go back and make 3 more for the same day and repeat the same scenario to get a whole lot of FP's. When you get to the park and give the CM your sob story could they not pull up your MDE to see if your account is indeed wiped out. I'm just saying if I had A B and C scheduled and they just went off the grid but I have printed proof that I held those for that day they could pull up my MDE and see that indeed I no longer hold any FP for that day and know I am telling the truth right? I could see different if I went and made new FP but if you account shows no FP then they would want to work with you right?

Maybe I am naive. I just want to believe that people will want to do the right things and not abuse things like this and ruin it for everyone else

It may not help but it it surely can't hurt anything to take three seconds and screen shot all your FP reservations.

That is a GREAT idea!

I am trying to find out how I should prepare a "backup plan" for the reservations on MDE in light of many saying their ressies have disappeared. What is the deal with taking screenshots on your phone? Some say this is a good idea to prove that you had made reservations, then some say they are being accused by cast members of photoshopping. How else can you prove you had previous ADR's or FP+ and will it make any difference if CM's think you faked it?

Even if you don't use them to prove your FP+ reservations, it's much faster to look at your photo as a reminder of your return time vs. logging into MDE. I do the same for ADRs. All right there in my photos for the day.

This is my opinion, too. May or may not help if something happens to the system but I took a screenshot of each day. I will use it as the wallpaper on the lock screen of my phone. That way I won't have to go into the app to check them. Figured it will save some battery life (and possibly data depending on WiFi reception).

Varies by CM.

We had several issues on one trip. They were NOT accepting paper printouts and in fact, were rather rude about it.

Screen shots worked at 3/4 places where we have problems, but I wouldn't count on it. Still, it doesn't hurt to try.

I am really disgusted with Disney blaming the consumer for their failures. I am taking 2 hours of my life in the wee hours to book fast passes (essentially, I have already waited in line doing this) I have no patience for this, I do EXPECT them to keep their end of the bargain at the minimum. My Disney Experience should be called My PITA Experience IMHO. I have screen shots and a hard copy and if cast member told me not to take a picture, my reply will be get a better system. :thumbsup2

So what is the answer? Does having a screenshot imply you have faked it, at least in the eyes of a CM?

So let's say that I stay up until midnight to make these reservations. Would you recommend using the website and not the app in any case?

Website every time. The power a cell phone browser even on wifi is much lower than your computers. Always use you computer when you can over an app or you cell phone.

And I think this is really the issue for a lot of anti-FP+ers out there. When glitches happened, if CMs were instructed to be helpful as opposed to saying "too bad, so sad" there's nothing that can be done :furious:, then I think this transition to an all technology/paperless system would be much less painful for Disney guests.

At the risk of sounding like a total Luddite, what is a screen shot & how does it differ from a pic?
How does one take a screen shot?
TIA

It means the same thing as taking a picture of your screen.

If you have an iPhone, you can push the home button and the power button at the exact same time and it will automatically capture a picture of whatever is on your screen and will save it to your camera roll. For a Mac computer, you can press Command + Shift + 3 and it will do the same thing. On a PC, the print screen button will save a screenshot (you still have to then paste the saved image to Paint or Word).

Just google the model phone you have plus screenshot and you'll find out if/how to do it. Some models (like mine, I found out) are not screenshot capable.

My issue with all of this is that SURELY Disney knows by now that their system is glitchy and prone to unexpected issues. To knowingly go forward with blaming the customer (not always, but almost certainly always on the attractions where it matters most) is just so disingenuous on so many levels.

The problem is that without confirmations codes or something. You can't "prove" anything. In that case you have an opening that someone is going to try and use to game the system.

It comes down to my word as a guest/customer "I had FP+ for A&E, SpaceMountain, and Splash, for my family of 10." against what the system says of "No FPs associated with your account, and you've not logged in since a year ago June." And who knows, maybe they have a second MDE account, maybe there is a log/transaction issue, maybe they know just what they are doing. You can't tell as a CM.

How to resolve this?

Well any random FP is as good as another one, right? "I'm sorry I know you though you had A&E, but how about we schedule you for IaSW in 15 minutes?" We all know they aren't the same not even close. (IaSW is way better ;)

The thing Disney is fearing (and rightly so in my opinion) is people learning that you can "just go to GS, whine, and get a FP+ for A&E (or any teir 1 attraction.)"

Infact most of what I've read is that Disney is more than willing to help you fix your FP+ regardless of how it got messed up, with a few exceptions.

The website also let's you adjust the times better. I make my (idk if I get a FP for this) at late times. This way I can adjust the important FPs for the time I'm wanting. So much easier on the website.

I saw CMs refusing to look at screen shots. Imagine if they honored those how many would work the system. I'm sorry to those that have lost FPs that must be horrible Disney has to figure out a way to lock them in.
