Screaming Means Fun: a disboutiquers trip report: Update Page 9!

Looks like the beginnings of a great trip report. Your children are so cute, and I love their outfits. I can't believe the CM kicked your son out of the play ground. I have see a lot bigger kids than your son in that playground, and nothing said to them. Looking forward to more.

I followed your plug to your report, and I am glad I did, it is GREAT! Thanks so much for sharing!

LOL, I have to say I don't feel so bad right now...my DS is almost 6, but quite small for his age. All his swim trunks and most of his shorts are 4/4t. I tried them all on him last week and that's the size he still needs!! The 5's are just too big, esp. for swim trunks. I was feeling bad/guilty about this for some reason, but obviously other boys wear sizes a long time too!!

Michael is the exact same way! He is 6.5 and I put a pair of shorts on him that he was seriously wearing at 2 years old, they were a 4T and this is the first year since then that they were too small *sniff, sniff*. They fit in the waist -- they were just too short. So, I found some shorts that have been put away for the past 2 years b/c they were too big and they are 4T's as well but they must run big. Go figure!

OH DEAR...rule breaking at Disney...yes it happens. Honestly though...I'm surprised y'all got nailed...I can't even COUNT the number of people I've seen smoking at Epcot...in non smoking areas...anywhere they please basically...and there isn't a CM to be found...but give em some little kids to have a power trip on an they jump on it?! LAME!!! Deal with the smoker problem first I say! Let darling Jacob play with his sister!

I do have to say that I am PAINED that poor Scrappy is so ANGRY at bunnies. He must have had a bad experience with them when he was small. He needs therapy. Seriously. Anger management courses would help him deal with his rage issues and then perhaps there wouldn't be any more bunny rabbit carnage. Seriously.

They had a little mini-rock wall that was fun and Jacob waited so patiently for the toddler on it to finish before he even attempted it, but I could see that big rambunctious kids could easily take it over so we weren't too upset. In fact DH so helpfully said, I told you not to let him play.

Megan's point was that Scrappy loves flowers so much he will do anything to protect them. I think she has determined that he is justified in his psycho killing since those bunnies eat flowers. Evil bunnies! :rotfl:

I didn't realize that Chip and Dale were brother's either. I just thought they were friends. What about the girl, is she a girlfriend or a sister? (Clarice???)

Um, I didn't even know there was a Clarice until your sister put her on a shirt! I'll have to ask next time, or you ask when you go!

Just found your "shameless plug" on the disboutique!:thumbsup2 How, o, how, did I miss your TR so far? I love it! Great wit & writing!! We want more please!!!:dance3:

I loved the special meet with Chip N Dale. I thought they were cousins or something? No idea they were brothers. :confused3

Your epcot Tees were awesome!

Can't wait to read about how your shopping adventures pan out for the shoes, suit & such! Are there no Wally's or Targets near by? Do tell what you ended up purchasing or making for shoes & suits. ;)

Thank you! I was really pleased at how the Epcot shirts came out.

I wasn't really concerned about the clothes, just thought I could pick up extras there and was disappointed when I couldn't. We live in Florida so we had a bunch of suits at home and the last time we were shoe shopping Megan wanted Princess sneakers but they didn't come in her size (her feet are big).

Love the update! I must admit that I'm not a "stand in line to see characters" kind of gal, but after hearing cute experiences like this, I may have to change my mind. :upsidedow

Scappy must be a VERY good guard dog to watch after your flowers like that. :goodvibes I'm very impressed.

We are not obssessive about it, but if we see the line is short we will jump in it! I love it when they get to really interact with them, sometimes they are too shy and will just hug and flee!

Thanks! I had fun making them too.

Thank you for coming!

I love your trip report!! And I just love that Megan and Jacob!!!!

Thanks!

Nice report!

Thank you!

UPDATE: Magic Kingdom!

Oooh, I really should have taken notes because my memory is starting to get foggy! I know that we did schedule two MK days because there is so much to do and the kids were now willing to try a lot more so this is the first day where we attempted to get Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and Toon Town Fair out of the way. We did not wake Jacob this day but were a little noisy in getting ready so he would get the hint. Let's get moving kid!

We ran by Buzz and got a fastpass ticket and then headed to teacups. The teacups have been their favorite ride since forever. Tom and I fight about who has to ride the teacups and sadly, I am on the losing end because someone claims motion sickness. I have pictures of me very pregnant with Jacob on the teacups, which is just not fair. Fortunately, they are big enough to ride alone so we both got to watch from a safe distance!

After some more kiddie ride fun and indy car racing we headed over to Toon Town Fair. I wanted to catch Minnie since Megan was in her Minnie outfit. First, Goofy's roller coaster:

IMG_0288.jpg

Then, Minnie's house was closed! :headache: We looked at the character lines to see if anything looks short. The princesses were forever but Donald, Goofy and Pluto said 15 minutes. If it's more than 15 minutes I am not interested. Megan and I jumped in line.

Tom informed me later that as soon as we disappeared in the line a cast member changed the wait time to 30 minutes! :headache:

45 minutes later we got in to see the characters. When the cast member saw us, she said, you should have went to Mickey's tent. He's there with Minnie today! :headache:

Well, it was my first gross miscalculation of the trip so I tried not to dwell on it. Megan did enjoy the guys:

Since we were deposited in the gift shop I looked for sneakers and suits. No sneakers in her size and no swimming suits. Megan lobbied to go see Mickey and Minnie, but I didn't want to wait in another line and our Buzz fastpasses would have expired so off we went.

Meanwhile, Jacob got his face painted. He looked very fierce!

After Buzz we went to one of their favorite places to eat, Pinocchio's. The kids love to wave at the boats going into It's a Small World.

Tom wanted to go on the Haunted Mansion but the line was too long. He was :sad1: and me too because it's one of our favorites. We took Megan for the first time two years ago and she giggled the whole time. Her cousin (same age) was very angry with us when she got off and told us, those weren't friendly ghosts!

Anyway, we decided to get a fast pass for the Jungle Cruise and do Aladdin's carpets. It's like Dumbo but you don't have to wait forever.

IMG_0302-1.jpg

Here's a weird thing. When we got in line there was a little girl in front of us. Her dad told me, her mother is coming but she's in the restroom and I have a baby here so can you keep an eye on her? She was 6 or 7. We said ok, but then the couple in front of us had the same age daughter so she palled around with them in the line, which was about 20 minutes. We get to the front and the mother still hasn't come. I look around for the little girl even though the other mother told the dad she would watch her and I saw her by the exit. She didn't even get to ride the ride after waiting all that time because her mom was messing around in the bathroom. I would have let her ride with me if I knew. I felt so bad for the little girl. The mom came running up right when our turn was starting. I hoped they let her get on without waiting again.

Anyway, we decided on ice cream after the carpets. Messy as they are, I sent them to rinse off in the water fountain. Jacob was a little vigorous in his rinsing and forgot he had face paint on. :headache:

IMG_0303-1.jpg

Sadly, we did not get a good guide on the jungle cruise. The whole attraction is about the guide and the delivery of the corny jokes so I was disappointed. Jacob brought home some jokes so it wasn't a total loss:

I know all my state capitals. Like the capital of Washington is W.

I used to work at an orange juice factory but I got canned. I just couldn't concentrate.

After that it was time for the pool (Mommy excused again! Woo hoo!) and then the Sandcastle Club for the kids and fun for mom and dad.

We had dinner at Le Cellier, which we can almost never get into. It was great! We had drinks at the English Pub and saw British Invasion (again, we are so lame I know).

IMG_0310.jpg

We walked over to the Boardwalk and I gave up on the sneaks and bought Megan lavender mary jane crocs instead. They are so cute! I bought Jacob a little toy so he would not be jealous since they didn't have any suits there either!

We headed to Jellyrolls the dueling piano bar. It's my very favorite place ever. Tom had received some bad news from a cast member at the pool earlier that day. They were closed a month when they got their floors refinished and most of the players got jobs elsewhere. We only recognized one guy and he wasn't one of our favorites. It was ok.

We picked up the almost-asleep kids from the Sandcastle Club and went straight to bed. It's Animal Kingdom day tomorrow so we needed our rest!

Love the updates! How strange about the girl in line!

I have to admit, we ate at Pinnochio's and I could NOT figure out where the tables with the view of IASW were! :confused3

goodness gracious your kids are cute!!! I LOVE Megan with Donald!! We didn't get to see Donald in his blue outfit! I JUST informed my husband that we would be waiting in line for no matter how long b/c I NEED a picture with my alter ego in his blues! NEED IT!

What IS IT with people just trusting strangers with their kids?! Good thing these people are running into Dis-ers...perhaps we should open a "Strangers babysitting Service" Our motto will be "You Lucked out! We're not Psycho!"

Pat Scrappy for me!! Beau had to get his Bordatella vaccine this evening b/c he has Doggie Day Camp on Friday! He didn't like the vaccine. He's been snorting and sneezing in a very injured way since we got home...and...I still can't believe this...the vet said that Beau was a little more...erm...FLUFFY than he should be. He had to get special diet food!:scared1:

Poor Beauregard! He only needs to lose two pounds...too many accidental treats!

YAY for the next chapter!!!popcorn::

That's funny, we have never eaten anywhere else but the tables overlooking IASW! There is an entrance by the attraction and the tables are on the left before you get to the lines for the food.

I'm not sure, I wasn't really worried about the little girl I was irritated on her behalf that her mom was fooling around. She should have taken the baby in the bathroom with her and let the dad wait with her girl if she was going to be so long. I really try not to notice other people and the irritating things they do when we are at Disney but the dad kind of brought me into to it by explaining the situation.

I am LOLing at the motto: maybe we should make buttons! :lmao:

Poor little BJ! I have never had an trouble with that vaccine, sinus troubles perhaps? You will have to dole out the treats extra-carefully from now on, you certainly don't want to put his back at risk with the extra pounds! Maybe if he had some bunnies to chase he could get the weight off. I would send you some, but er, we don't have any! :sad2:

Well. I am VERY late to the party. But am on board to read all of your adventures!!! Loving it so far - and the kids (and outfits, o' course) are adorable!

CambellScott - you have a pet named Beauregard?!?!?!?! That is one of my all-time favorite pet names (and I've heard a lot - my dad is a veterinarian.) I had a cat named Beauregard once - orange tabby. He was a great cat.

I'm a longtime lurker on the Disboutique thread, but I wanted to come out of lurkdom to say how much I am enjoying reading your report and seeing the pictures of your adorable children. Your son sounds like a really neat kid! I think he'd have me laughing like crazy.

Thoroughly enjoying your TR! :) The plug worked wonders! :thumbsup2

Your customs are great--particularly the last-minute EPCOT ones! :)

I just adore your report! Your kids are so cute!

Can someone direct me to the disboutique thread?

Great update Steph! I love Jacob's sad face photo when he washed his face paint off.

Thank you! It's on the family board: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1769919

We would love to have you join us!

Hey, I loved food rocks too!

I just went over there! Thanks so much for the link.

Yes, I always have a moment of silence for my beloved Food Rocks when waiting in line for Soarin'. And I have the audio on a CD that I listen to in my car and sing along with...because I am that cool!

:rotfl2: Megan defending her little Scrappy has my cracking up.

I must say, that Jacob is such a handsome little fella. The phone booth picture will surely make any little girl twitterpated.

It always amazes me that people will leave their kids under the watchful eye of strangers. My mom has been asked more times than I can count to watch random children at unexpected moments. I'm much too paranoid for that!

You will fit right in with us super-cool ladies (and Tom) on the disboutique board!:cool2:

Yay, the plug worked! I'm happy with the Epcot ones too; except that the skirt wouldn't stay up, lol!

Great update Steph! I love Jacob's sad face photo when he washed his face paint off.

I know, I yelled to stop and he was soooo upset, I felt bad for yelling. I didn't mean to make him feel bad, I was just trying to stop him before it was all gone. He is very offended that the picture is included in the tr.

You are cool! Food Rocks and Figment were my favorite things about Epcot.

Yes, she is very insistent that the bunnies deserved their early demise.

Thanks! We think he is handsome too!

It was so weird. When he was telling me, he was sort of explaining why a woman would come breaking in line, and I assured him I would let his wife in. And then she never came! Very odd.

My mom was mad at me for allowing Beau to even get two pounds over weight. We've raised doxies all my life...I am VERY shame faced. I DO know better. But Beau doesn't...and the kids slip him treats ALL THE TIME. I had to get very stern and threatening. Poor Beau clinks his bowl against the wall in a very forlorn way. He does so love to eat.:sad1:

He actually SAW a bunny the other day...but since it was a New Jersey bunny it wasn't too scared of the barking doxie. He kind of looked at Beau like "What? You talkin to me? Puh-Lease..."

We did take our baby to the dog park yesterday for a good romp. He had a great time. Of course when we got home that little poot figured out a way to get up on to the table and chomp some of daddy's pasta salad whilst we were in the midst of table setting. Seriously. He's THAT FAST! And NOT sorry.

:lmao:

can't wait for more TR!! :thumbsup2

It's a good name! He needed something dignified...even though mostly we call him Beau or Beau-Jack.

How neat-o that your daddy is a vet!!! Vet's are good people. They endure a lot from patients they can't reason with!
