My trip is coming up in a couple weeks and I plan to take tons of pictures for my Disney scrapbooking project. Any places in Disney that sell supplies, especially embellishments, for scrapbooking? Thanks!!

There is a whole scrapping store! It's in DTD. It used to be ReadinRitinRithmetic or something, but now it is all scrapstuff!
A girl can do some damage with a credit card!!

DTD

A store that is down the end to right of Rainforest Cafe. It has a scrapbooking section, though not HUGE, some cute stuff. I bought several items there last week. (it has ART in front so walk towards far right area)

Downtown Disney is where I bought my supplies. I purchased one pack (around $15) which included paper, stickers and die cuts. I liked the value and the variety.

When I got back home I compared the prices to local stores and to a home-based business, the prices were the same - no deal either place. Local stores had more selection (individual paper and stickers). Disney supplies were more in bundles than individual supplies.

On a previous trip, I purchased the Mickey ear scissors and threw them away. Too much trouble for the end result.

My suggestion is to shop locally before you go, so you have a referrence point when you show there.

Enjoy!!!

They have a store in DTD with a few supplies but if you are a scrapbooker you will find that it is lacking pretty much everything you generally buy. More items are avaiable locally. You will find more information about all these things done a number of forums under Creative Communities- they have a scrapbooking forum.

Most, if not all, of the stuff you will find in the DTD Scrapping store can be found in most of the "general stores" in the hotels.

I bought the 3-ring binder album the last time (which was dated). I love it, but you can't get extra protectors for it.

I'll be honest, I wasn't really impressed with the amount of scrapping stuff sold. It was okay, but nothing to get too excited about. I wouldn't go to the DTD store unless you plan on being down there anyway. It's more of a photo/picture frame, etc... store.

I LOVE scrapping! Hence my screen name! I'm gonna check out the scrappin forum here! I will definiely be checking for scrap stuff at WDW. I have already been stocking up on stuff for when we get back though. I got an awesome Tink sb at Michael's and they have a ton of really cute stickers. I love the Cinerella's Castle one and the glass slipper ones I got. SO cute. All the Mickey ears shaped buttons.

I was wondery why the ears scissors didn't work? I have some that cut shapes and they work well. Those would be so fun to have!

The scissors and punches sold at Disney are only for thin paper. The supplies are obviously not designed by scrapbookers. The scissors don't work well because they aren't made well.

the store in question is the world of memories in the marketplace.

Sure. They sell a lot of cool stuff in WDW to scrapbook with but don't over look all of the cool stuff you can get for free:

napkins from restaurants, receipts, coasters, fastpasses, maps, EMH bands, plane tickets, magical express vouchers, postcards, flags and passports from Epcot, park maps, pin backs etc.

Basically anything you can think of! It all adds to the uniqueness of your scrapbook.

I have to say, I saved up a lot of money which I had set aside to spend in the Memories store in DTD and was SOOO disappointed in what was there. Even though I had a lot to spend, I left having spent only $15 (probablly the same paper pack another poster said she bought for $15). There wasn't much there at all. Mostly albums and frames, and some very BASIC stickers (more like the type I'd let my daughter play with, less the type I'd embellish with). Now that I've used the paper, I'm not even thrilled with it. I've probablly only used a few sheets, the rest will probablly be put in thge kids pile
You'll probablly have better luck at stores like Michaels and on-line.

Exactly - these are the kind of things our family collects throughout our trips and then end up in the scrapbook. We always get the "year pack" of general WDW stickers and stuff (with the current year/character combo stuff), and then just do the rest ourselves based on what we collect. Looking back at them from several years ago - even if they have some of the same kind of "stuff" - sure brings back great memories about each individual trip.

My kids love the plastic dolphins that were in their drinks at Coral Reef... we have the VIP Fastpass cards we got from our DVC tour, just all kinds of "stuff". We never use all of the DME yellow luggage tags - so there's always a "crisp" one to use... but my DW prefers to save one of the used ones that's not so crisp - she says it adds to the "flavor" of the book seeing the wrinkles from where it was removed from our suitcase!

We've found basic supplies throughout the world - resorts, DTD, the "big" stores in each park (Emporium, MouseGear, etc).

I am also an avid scrapper. One thing I did last trip was take lots of close up pics with my camera of signs in the parks, character topiaries, hidden Mickey's and stuff that you generally don't. These made great scrapbook decor and die cuts. The close ups of Disneyesque upholstery that were on furniture and stuff was great for enlarging on my computer then printing it out and making background paper out of it.

When scrapping the different countries of the WS, I just go to online scrapbooking sites and look up the travel sections. I have bought really cool paper and stuff for all the countries this way.

I have to agree about the Disney Scrapbook store. I did buy a great pad of Disney paper and some awesome postcards to use as well as a few 3D Die cut stickies there. But the best Disney is found on line. Just google Disney Scrapbooking supplies and you will get lots of stuff.

I wasn't impressed either.
I was really looking forward to getting some cool stuff, but when I got there, I didn't find anything.
I've seen most of the stuff there in the disney section of the local craft stores.

I just got the same ones, the Tink SB and the Castle and the glass slipper. I can't wait to get my pictures from our trip so I can start scrapbooking.

I love scrapping and it is sooooo much fun to scrape disney. I have one suggestion. Before you go your trip go to your local store and see what they have. There are items at disney that only disney sells and you will want to make sure to get those. Every year I get the ones I know that only disney sales. You will love what you see.

I agree. There are some very basic supplies, but not much to get excited over. Their punches and scissors are cute. I also picked up some of their metal embellishments (paper clips twisted into a mickey head).
