Day 1
Feb 13th
Spent the day wishing for 3 pm when the taxi would pick us up to take us to Edinburgh Airport. Got seats on the shuttle to find TA had booked 5 and 1 seats so DH was on his own. This didnt bode well.
Security was very tight, everyone got body and bags searched, plane delayed, got half way down to Gatwick to be informed that there had been an incident. We landed at North Terminal and got a bus to South where we had to get our bags too. Turns out a man with a live grenade had been found at North Terminal. This definitely didnt bode well, our hotel was at N. Terminal. Checked in at twilight Check in yes 5 seats together and 1 on its own (even though I had phoned to pre book seats). Got it sorted and now the N. Terminal had just opened so we fought our way there and checked in to hotel to find I didnt have my credit card. Oh no a holiday in US without a credit card. DH thought this was hilarious. Phoned our housesitter and she couldnt find it at home so we had to phone the CC company and cancel the card. Now DH wasnt laughing as its a joint account and had to cancel his too.
Spent an uncomfortably hot night at Le Meridian
Day 2
Feb 14th
Breakfast at Garfunkels.
Went through very tight security, Flight left on time, got in on time, got our car before the bags came through to the carousel which beat the queue at Dollar, and were checked in to Vistana within 75 mins of landing. Not bad really. We were in the pool 5 mins later.
Got takeout from Zimmies across from our apartment, good food and fairly cheap. Left M & D to put boys to bed and went to get some supplies from Wal Mart.
Day 3
Feb 15th
Had PS for Chef Mickeys for 8 am so off we toddled. It was a beautiful morning, the mist was rising off the lake and the sky was clear. Chef Mickey was good as usual, we took our time as we planned to go to Typhoon Lagoon and it didnt open until 10 am.
Being Saturday we new it would be busy but it never reached capacity and the waits for the rides werent that long (20 mins max) DS 2 discovered he loved the slides luckily he was too short for the straight down one (cant remember its name). The only down side to this day was the sunburn the boys suffered, which we put down to some cheap suncream we bought in Majorca last year as they were slathered in it and the bits where DS had used Mums lower factor cream hadnt burnt.
DH and I went to Premium Outlets but didnt buy anything.
