Scott Peterson Might Be the Ideal Husband

Oh, don't get me started on this topic.

This is the part that really gets me:

Your wife is 8 months pregnant, you leave on Christmas Eve morning to go fishing and your pregant wife is mopping the floor (according to SP' story) and after she mops the floor, she's going to walk the dog (SP' story - even though her doctor told her two months before to stop walking because she was getting sick) and then bake for the holidays.

You come home after fishing all day, the house is dark, your wife' car is in the driveway, your wife' purse and keys are in the bedroom, the back door is "supposedly" unlocked, you DON'T smell any baking and you just eat pizza, take a shower and wash your clothes BEFORE thinking "ummmmm... where is my wife" then when you finally think "ummmmmmm... where is my wife" you call her parents and ask if she is there and use the word "missing" and you don't even think for one minute "ummmmmmm... she is 8 months pregnant, maybe she went into labor and is at a hospital?"

GUILTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and this is just my opinion.

Have you ever thought about being a lawyer? Those are some well-argued points there.

I'm impressed.

I work for lawyers. Not criminal lawyers, Intellectual Property lawyers.

Just always been infatuated with the Legal System, wanted to be a lawyer way back when I was in High School but that never panned out.

Don't know about any of you ladies, but when I was 8 months pregnant, I didn't have much energy to do much of anything other than sit around! LOL No way I'd be out walking a dog! I've seen pictures of their dog too.. definately not some tiny little thing. The whole situation is just off.

Remember, all 12 juror's must be convinced his committed this act beyond a reasonable doubt. I'm not so sure the prosecutors are going to be able to pull it off. If you're following the trial at all, a lot of the prosecutions witness are playing more into the hands of the defense.

Keep in mind that I think he's guilty and I pray they convict him, I just don't know if it's going to happen. I've heard much analysis from other attorney's (via Greta's show) and they seem to think the prosecution comes out of the gate with the hardest evidence right off the bat. They say this helps get those juror's on their side from the get go. I'm hoping this prosecution has other plans, because if they've presented their strongest evidence already, they're in major trouble.

Another thing to keep in mind is, did ANYONE think for a minute that OJ would walk? What about Robert Durst? Both of these acquittals left MANY in shock!

Edited to get rid of quote. I quoted myself! LOL

I never caught if both Laci and Scott had cell phones. If she did, couldn't he have tried calling it?

Yes, they both did have cell phones but it's been "reported" that Laci' was in her car and the battery was dead. In fact, it's also been "reported" that when SP was arrested he had 4 DIFFERENT cell phones that were working in the car with him. It's also been testified to in court that SP did tell Law Enforcement that he tried to call Laci during the day and left her a message on the home phone (IMHO - he was setting up his alibi).

Well said everyone!!! ITA!!!!

Not only are there some very well argued points here about how he handled his return home from fishing... Hey, it's Christmas Eve... Your wife is 8 months pregnant... And you 'choose' to supposedly leave her alone so you can spend the whole day miles away out fishing where you could not be reached, or return home quickly.

Only one verdict here....

Actually, yes I did think OJ would be found innocent, don't know why but I did.

I've been following this case very closely, almost obsessively so and it's my opinion that the Prosecution is just getting started, this will be a very LONG trial. I don't think the public has heard even 1/2 of what the prosecution has.

The last show I saw last week on Greta, the defense talking heads where changing their tune and saying the prosecution is doing a GREAT job and is debunking defense theories right and left.

What really leaves a poor taste in my mouth is that Mark Geragos...before he took this case obviously...thought the evidence against Scott Peterson was so overwhelming he was going to be easily convicted. That's why he took the case...now I know he's going to say it was because Scott has the right to be defended under the Constitution, etc., etc. I know that, I've worked as a summer associate in a defense firm. But I honestly think it's more like a game to him....Can I win with these odds?

I'm not arguing for Scott Peterson, but what about the fact that Laci's step daddy went fishing that day too? I think it's odd that he'd be fishing on Christmas Eve, but it didn't look good when the defense showed, it's not really that odd for these people. I just feel this whole trial is going to be one giant uphill battle and I pray for justice in the end.

In all honesty though, I believe he would have been found guilty if he had a court appointed defense attorney. I'm not trying to suggest that they aren't good lawyers, I just think they are given entirely too many cases to really give anyone a fair trial.

Mark Geragos, like him or hate him, is going to put up a fight.

GUILTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and this is just my opinion.

AND, she was mopping the floor even though their maid testified that she had mopped the floors with Clorox and Pine Sol the day before? And sure, who wouldn't leave their 8 months pregnant wife on the day before Christmas and drive 100 miles to go fishing ALONE on the BAY on a day the weather wasn't good? It is just a coincidence that her body (and the baby's) washed ashore in the same bay as he had been fishing right? He also told different stories as to where he was. He told her uncle he had been golfing. If you're innocent and have been fishing why do you lie and tell someone you were golfing? (I hope you know I am being sarcastic with these comments as I believe he is SOOOO GUILTY!) And the whole using the word "missing" when phoning Laci's mom has always bugged me like it has y'all. If my dh came home and I was gone he would call around to my friends and family and ask if I were there. If he HAD been fishing all day my dh would assume I might be peeved at him getting home late on Christmas Eve. He darn sure wouldn't JUMP to the conclusion that I was "missing". That was a stupid choice of words. SP wasn't as smart as he thinks he was. I think it is pretty sad that there's a chance he could get off because there's no murder weapon or cause of death. In other words, if a murderer hides the weapon well enough and chops the victim up so the coroner can't distinguish the cause of death he's in the clear? (Sorry if that was graphic).

Well, let's not forget that he sold her car and tried to put the house on the market. All before their bodies were discovered too. I don't know about you, but I would think if she was missing and suddenly returned, she might not be too happy to find her car and home gone!

Gotta wonder too why he was carrying a application for a passport when he was picked up too. Along with his brother's drivers license. He has a story for that though, so that will be up to the jury to decide.

I think they have the timeline anywhere from 10 to what, 18 minute gap? In this amount of time, she'd have had to mop the floor, and get the dog out, and be kidnapped (or whatever) before the neighbor saw the dog walking around.

He's guilty, there is no doubts about it, proving it beyond a reasonable doubt though still isn't going to be easy.

I've been a juror in the San Mateo County Courthouse in Redwood City where the trial is.

The demographic of that area are very racially and ethnically mixed but it is a very educated and fairly affluent juror pool.

When I lived in Dallas and Houston it was a joke that if you got called for jury duty you just had to show up dressed very professionally and you would never get picked for a jury. When they grilled you in the jury selection process most everyone who was middle or upper middle class was eliminated.

I was quite surprised to find myself chosen for the jury in California (but very happy to serve) and felt the others in the jury pool were pretty much all in the same socio-whatever class - lots of diversity in ethnic and races though. I even knew 3-4 people who were called.

Don't know if any of this will make a difference in the trial but just wanted to share my observations about that court room in Redwood City. I just keep thinking about how easy it would have been for me to have been picked for that jury - I really have not followed it much in the news (so didn't have a lot of prior bias) and since I'm retired I would not have had an economic hardship to serve.

Yes, but the difference being Laci' stepdad went fishing a few miles from home, SP went fishing 90 miles from home and in the exact same place the bodies surfaced. Also, SP told some people, that day when looking for Laci, that he went golfing and some he went fishing, why lie when you have nothing to lie about? (IMHO - because he DID have something to lie about)

Why ask LE the first night for phone numbers for grief counselors?
Why ask LE if exhaust from his outboard motor could pass for gun residue the first night?
Why when everyone is running around frantic looking for Laci, did SP remain silent and not ask questions of LE when everyone else was?
Why when his whole family is grieving at a candlelight vigil are you smiling and talking on the phone?
Why when everyone at the search center is out putting up flyers and you say your doing the same thing but someone follows you and sees your not actually putting up flyers but sitting in an empty parking lot?
Why give interviews with numerous TV personalities and always refer to your MISSING wife as "was" instead of "is"?
Why give your MIL one answer as to what Laci was doing when he left that morning but gave LE a different answer?
Why continue talking to your mistress telling her that you want to be with her while your wife is "missing"?
Why sell your wife' car while she is still MISSING?
Why enquire with two realtors how fast you can sell your house while your wife is MISSING?
Why when LE tells you a witness may have seen your MISSING wife and your response is "can't be her, she doesn't walk that way"?

Why, why, why ........

I could go on and on and on with the why's, I'm sure the Jury will just HAVE to come to the same conclusion:

"CONSCIENSNESS OF GUILT"

If I were on the Jury, I would want SP to answer all these why's, that's for sure.

I also had a problem with Mark Geragos "switching sides". When this case first broke, Geragos was one of Greta's regular talking heads. He stated that there was no way that Scott Peterson was innocent of this crime.

Now, here he is with a whole bunch of other suspects. Satanic cult, Donny, the burglars, the people with the brown van...

and to make matters even worse, the talking heads are talking about the "notes" Scott is sending/sent to a Laci lookalike (supposedly saying "I wish we met under better circumstances) that works for the County, i.e. has his suits cleaned for court and she has turned the notes over to the Prosecution. Good for her!!!

How scummy can one man be??? On trial for your life and your writing "love notes" to an employee in the jail? That man does not have any COMMON SENSE.

I know....it really makes me ill.

I'll tell you what he saw...the cameras and the publicity.

I didn't hear anything about these notes. Where did you hear of them from? He's definitely the scum of the earth, that's for sure.

They talked about the prison notes on Catherine Crier Live today.
