Scotland ABD rates increasing/selling out

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that we have seen the price of the Scotland ABDs go up already which means these are selling fast.

In addition, we are hearing that 'several dates' are getting close to selling out. I have no idea which dates or how fast they will go.

My suggestion is that if you are interested in Scotland that you book soon.

Wow! The price is higher on the ABD website for every date already. $5149/4889 for most dates and $5299/$4889 for the Aug 4 trip. The Adult Only trip now says call for details, so maybe it's sold out already. Cool! Hope the other trips book well this year too. But not this quickly, since I'm not ready to book yet.

Ditto for me. I think Calfan and I may have driven that August 4th date up! Wonder how many people need to book before they start raising prices. Maybe I'll call tomorrow and see how booked they are...

Yesterday afternoon, 8/4 was about 30% full already. I got a couple of people in under the wire before the prices went up. Based on past years, I had a sense it might happen fast!

The adult-only is not technically sold out, to my knowledge -- I believe it was scooped up by a group so there still may end up being space if the group doesn't sell all the spots. At least that's how it was handled for my groups in the past. I was told that anyone booked on this date before it went into "call for details" status is safe though. Anyone here on that one? Sadly, that's the one I wanted so I'm back to the drawing board!

My thoughts too! Hopefully it stays as a 'regular' itinerary much like the England Paris trip. I probably won't be able to do it till 2014 or '15.

Now the Jul 22 and Aug 18 trips have made the second price jump to $5299/$5039!

I just booked the June 30th trip....I'm bummed they raised prices from just 2 days ago (I love ABD - but this really drives me crazy...I wish they would let prices stay fixed for at least a week to let us figure things out!)

that said - I'm super excited about the trip! We were planning to go to the UK anyway next summer (and I was even thinking about how much I'd love to see Scotland), and the kids will go crazy for this trip, especially after seeing Brave.

On a non-Disney note, I loved the Diana Gabaldon "Outlander" series, and I can't help but think of Jamie whisking me off in the highlands

I read this series before my trip to Scotland several years ago. It was great. I still have to take a look at the itineray. It's a beautiful country.

I think Jamie Fraser has inspired many a trip to Scotland! I loved Outlander. Can't believe I read it almost 20 years ago though!

To see places like Inverness, Fort William, Holyroodhouse and the Highlands in general would just bring those books I have loved for 20 years even more to life! Unfortunately Scotland isn't in the cards for us for a few more years - hoping it will still be offered in 2015 because I LOVE this itinerary!

I actually wrote to ABD several months ago and asked if they might add a Scotland itinerary. I never did receive a response of any sort. Aye well.

DH is hooked on the series too and we literally just booked our ABD to Scotland!!! This will be our first ABD trip.

Whoo hoo! Congratulations. I ditto SayHello--you are going to love ABD. I've only done one, but it was amazing. I can't wait for Scotland next summer.

I agree. ABD did something right this time. It seems to be a combination of it being a new itinerary that was well promoted, and there only being 7 departures. Doesn't hurt that it's such a great itinerary.

I'm so glad for you. That's one thing that's keeping me from considering that trip. I'd need to know. I'm not good at "wait and see".
