Are the Sci Fi Movies at the SciFi Drive In.... Scary? Loud? Startling enough to make the crowd scream?

Is the Dining experience appropriate for a 5yo that finds all of the above to be Really BAD !

The Sci-Fi Dine-In isn't scary at all - it's just really old corny/cheesy film clips. Our 3 year old DS who is scared of anything dark or loud was just fine there.

I see you'll be at the Beach Club on my birthday! DH and I stayed at the YC last month and fell in love with it. We really enjoyed eating at Cape May at the BC. Have a great trip :D !

Hey Thanks for the info.... that makes us feel better about planning that meal....

Our 5yo (4 at the time) was very scared with "A Bug's Life" so we don't want him to have an ordeal like that again.....

Cinderella03... WOw a WDW Wedding.... If I knew what I know Know now about WDW, My wife of 8 years and I would have DEFINATLY had a WDW wedding!!! (20 year vow renewal is looking good)... Best of Luck!

Mom of 5.. I will have a piece of cake in your honor at Cape May.. week did PS for breakfast for Easter Morning and dinner(Clam Bake) the night before we leave ......

The clips are only 2 to maybe 3 minutes in length and are the preview clips shown at drive-in's in the 50's or early 60's. There is nothing scary about them..smjj

Thanks for the well wishes NandP!
You'll have to post a Trip Report after your April vacation. Have Fun!
I also noticed that you're a fellow New Yorker-from New Windsor..I'm from Dutchess County!! Small World!

The only scary thing at Sci-Fi is the bill. I know WDW isn't the place for economical meals, but we found the cost/quality ratio to be very high.... even by Disney standards. If we go back there, it'll only be for shakes.

If anything, the clips at the Sci-Fi might be regarded by some as mildly funny. I think they could be described as what many people refer to as "camp." They are the types of clips that used to be fodder for the Mystery Science Theater crowd (for any of you that remember that show). They are fun to watch... As others have noted, the atmosphere definitely trumps the food!

If there is anything that might even be remotely intimidating to a young child, it is the reduced light level. (It is supposed to be like being at a drive-in movie at night, so it is a bit dim.) However, it is far from "dark", and there are lights on the "cars" so that you can see the menus (with effort) and your food.
