Sci-Fi Reservation for 7

My ADR window will be opening up soon and I am trying to finalize our ADR choices.

We want to eat at Sci-Fi for lunch or dinner the day we will be at HS. But, we have 7 people and I know the cars only seat 6. Does anyone have any experience on how they will seat a larger than 6 party, how easy it is to get a reservation for that size party, and/or any tips for booking. I know we will have to be at 2 different cars I guess, so should we just book 4 and 3 or split it up somehow. If so, what are the chances of being seated near each other? Thanks!

There are some "cars" that seat larger parties. They are very different. The have the car front then a regular table and chairs, then the car back. The screen is to your side. They also have some "picnic tables" at the rear of the restaurant.

Thanks! I will try and find a picture of these different "cars". We definitely don't want regular tables-the kids want to sit in the cars.

If you don't want a regular table and chairs, then I would suggest that you book 2 reservations, 1 for 3 and 1 for 4 for the same time. When you check in ask to be seated near each other.

That's kind of what I was thinking I would have to do-book 2 reservations. Anyone have any experience on doing this and how accommodating they were at check-in to be seated nearby?

We were a party of seven a few years ago and we were seated in a regular, three-row car. No other option was offered. Children and petite adults can sit three to a row comfortably.

Awesome!! Thanks! I don't remember there being room for 3 in a seat, even with 2 kids, but then again we only had 5 people last time, and the 2 kids sat by themselves, so I didn't try. Bummer is, I am the only petite adult, so I will have to sit with the kids! lol

Did you have an ADR for the party of 7, or did you just walk up? Thanks!

Lol, you will be stuck between the kids, probably! We had an adr, so they knew in advance how many children were in our party, and their ages, which I think contributed to our seating. If 7 adults had been listed, I'm not sure we would have been seated the same way.

Thank you so much! That is great news!!! Hopefully it will work that well for us-I forgot that yes they do know how many kids you have and their ages when you make the ADR. Thank you!

I would not sit 3 to a seat.
When we have gone with bigger groups we have gotten two cars but there are a few of the larger table options.

You can see these tables on the 2nd row and bottom left corner here. I believe there are 2 sizes.

Hmm, I just called and made a dinner reservation for 8. She didn't say it would be two different reservations. I want a regular car for seating. Should I call back to change it or can I request that when we show up?

I saw those, but the kids will want to sit in a regular car, not these tables. So, I will have to either sit with the kids, 3 in one seat, or do 2 reservations. It definitely would be easier to just sit with the kids and do 1 ADR.

She might have given you one of the larger tables, that it sounds like you don't want. If it was me, I would call back and see if you can get any more info. And, unless you have a few kids, you would probably need to have 2 ADR's for 4 people each.

We are 6 "Disney" adults & 2 children. Two of the 'adults' are petite teen girls though but still seems unlikely we would all fit in a regular car. We've never been here and so I really have no clue what the space is like.

The seats are definitely tight, even for 2 adults. I don't see how you could fit 3 people, unless you did have 2 small kids, maybe, and the adult was petite. But, it would be tight. I have to decide if I want to do that or not for our ADR. I don't see how the 8 of you would fit comfortably, even with 2 kids and 2 petite teen girls. You would have to have one of the teen girls with 1 kid, and then that would leave 1 teen girl that would have to fit with 2 adults. I do not see that working.

It's not 2 different reservations. Parties of 8 are fine, you will be in 2 cars right next to each other

not necessary. If you were to make 2 separate ADR's then the chances of even being close to each other car wise would be highly unlikely. One ADR is the only way to insure that they are right next to each other

That's awesome!! Sounds like this is what I will do for our party of 7 too! Glad you called :)

No, not necessarily. We had a party of 10, we were put in 2 cars and we were no where near each other.

The seats are tight side to side and in front of you. Could 3 adults sit on the bench? Yes. Could they move their arms and eat easily? I don't think so.

Google image "Sci Fi Dine In cars" and scroll down. There are a few with three and they are swished, arms almost behind, sitting at angles. Some with two average sized adults look full. I don't think there are any cars wider than others but maybe there are.

That is extremely rare honestly. Generally parties of 7 or more are put into cars that are either next to each other or 1 in front of the other

My last visit we were a party of 7 and when I checked in the host showed me a picture of the car and asked if we wanted to sit all 7 in one car or be in four rows of two cars. Since we had two little kids as part of the 7 we chose just one car and I sat w/ the kiddos. I would book all together and they will help you out when you check in.
