I have read previous comments on the Sci Fi diner, but as a science fiction fan, the theme intrigues me. I have read the burgers are good, but what other things on the menu are fair or better. The BLT Soup sounds interesting. Or the BBQ Chicken Sandwich.

Other opinions?

We go every time we are there and really enjoy it! The onoin rings are my fav! Last time we also had the Spinach & Artichole dip and thought it was really good also. My DH always gets the burgers (loves them), I got the Shrimp Penne Pasta last time and thought it was great! I have also had the reubens and they are good also!
Our favorite dessert was the cheesecake, I had the cobbler and really didn't like it (loved Le Celliers)!

In our experience, it's a great place for lunch--the burgers and sandwiches are really good. However, we don't think it is a great dinner option--the dinner entrees are just so-so.

Even though the burgers aren't on the dinner menu, you can order one for dinner anyway.

No one else has mentioned the Rueben sandwich, but I had that one time, and I thought it was very good.

We have liked everything. My DD loves the veggie burger. The Rueben was good and they were very accomdating with making mine with turkey rather than corned beef so I could keep on my diet. They have good salad and we split a chocolate cake and ice cream dessert. The artichoke dip was DH fave.

We're looking at popping in for lunch while we're there in early May. Do you think we'd need to book? I'm reluctant to book a lunch time meal cause we won't know what we're doing midday.

The coca cola ribs are pretty good. They also have decent deserts. My husband and I both like the Sci-Fi.

Absolutely, this place is almost always booked solid - and lunch tends to be - if anything - more popular than dinner.

I also had the Rueben for lunch and enjoyed it. We did SciFi as a late lunch and then went to see Cirque at 6:00, with Ghiradelli's afterwards.

Yes, you need PS. If you don't make it is no big deal. We have shown up a half hour late and gotten seated fairly fast.
We love the Sci-Fi for what it is, not the food. Infact we are thinking of going just for dessert this time as we have never thought the food was that outstanding.

Sci Fi is definitely worth a visit just for the theming. We actually enjoyed our meal this trip too. The artichoke spinach dip is delicous. DS loved the chips and they even brought him out some more. I had the BBQ sandwich. It was huge, good but not great. To me it was lacking in flavor, more like a plain chicken sandwich with barbeque sauce just poured on it. DS and DH enjoyed the ribs, a little tough, but, we had a good meal, nonetheless. :)

Will a restaurant such as the Sci-Fi seat you for dessert only? Would it have to be later in the evening after the dinner rush? I didn't think a full service restaurant would let you take up a table for dessert only. Any advice appreciated.
