Anyone have any good resources for cheap school uniforms?! My friend's son has completely destroyed all of his pants from last year!

Our middle school has uniforms that you can purchase that others have outgrown but are still in good condition. Target, Walmart & consignment shops are also places to pick up school uniforms at reasonable prices.

My older son was in a private school for four years. The first year or so, I only bought his uniform pants (navy) at places like Target, Old Navy, Kohl's, or JC Penney. Every pair of those pants ended up with shredded knees and I was having to buy new pants 3 or 4 times a year! SO...I broke down and purchased the pants from the local school uniform store (most of them have triple reinforced knees). From that point on, I never had to replace his pants during the school year! My point is that the initial outlay may be larger, but over time, it may be less if he is that hard on pants!

I know this wasn't exactly what you were looking for, but I have been there, done that and this was my solution!

I love thechildrenswearoutlet.com. It has very reasonable prices. The quality might not be as good as other places, but everything I've purchased has lasted until my kids have outgrown it. It's the most affordable place I've found. We got a bunch of new shirts last month when they had a free shipping deal.

We've also bought items from JCPenney and from French Toast. From Penney's, I especially love the skorts and French Toast has great customer service - they left an item out of our last order, and after a quick call to them, they shipped the missing item out without any further cost to me.

Just my experiences!

if you buy them at Sears they will replace them if they wear out before you outgrow them.

I vote for Academy. The skirts and dresses I got for DD last year still looked brand new at the end of the school year. So good in fact that I was able to hand them down to my Neice that starts school this year. They carry the Austin brand. I like the material sturdy but comfortable, stain resistant and best of all Take out of dryer and hang........no Ironing!!!

This was going to be my suggestion. When my son was younger, it's the only place I bought any of his pants. He'd wear through them 2 or 3 times a year.

(of course, now as a teenager, he outgrows everything within 2 months, so whole other issue, lol)
