My DS needs to make a castle for school. Can anyone point me to any websites for ideas? He can use any items he'd like and it can be any size. I keep seeing only 1 using a cardboard box. Thanks for any help!
I love Model Magic. I think it is made by Crayola. It is a foamy, sculptable clay that air dries in 24 hours. It is easy to work with and comes in lots of colors. If he wants the castle to have texture this is a fun product.
DD had to do this a few years back. She used cardboard and it took forever. She worked very hard. The girl that got the best grade made her castle out of pop cans. She super glued the cans together and spray painted it. It was very sturdy and looked really cool.
There is a castle cake on Family fun website. I made one for my daughter's birthday. He doesn't necessarily have to make a cake, but could use similar ideas.
You could also go to Michaels/Hobby Lobby and buy a Wilton castle pan and "bake" a castle.
ETA--go get a sandbox castle mold and use moon sand (keeps its shape). Maybe you can also spray paint it with some type of epoxy to double check that it keeps its shape. Moonsand even comes in colors!!
How about a cardboard box base, and tubes from paper towels and TP for towers? Those pointy paper cup things like they use for snow cones could be the tower caps.
