We went to Six Flags over Texas in Arlington this weekend. I went on the Roy Scream Roller Coaster. I'm not a roller coaster type of person so this was a big step for me. i went on the coaster, didn't enjoy it, was a stiff tense mess. When the ride stopped, I had the most excuciating head pain ever. I won't even call it a head ache It was to the point that I thought I popped an aneurism or something. So I sat down and drank some water and took an exedrin and the pain went away eventually, but dang, this pain made my monthly migraines feel like nothing. I was ready to go see a park medic. It was that bad.

If I were in your shoes I would make an urgent appointment to see my doctor, severe head pain is not something I would ignore.

agnes!

I'm calling this morning and making an appointment. I have a herniated disc between my shoulder blades and every now and then it gives me trouble. The way my back and shoulders also felt after the ride, I'm thinking it's all related, but I'm not taking any chances.

Yike! You went on a roller coaster with a herniated disc?

I'm pretty sure the head pain was related to the roller coaster. I get that kind of "instant excrutiating headache" when I scream, laugh hard, or go on roller coasters. It's blinding and all I can do is lay down and try to go to sleep. Meds don't touch it. I don't know if it has to do with the tightening of the neck and head muscles or what, but I know how bad it hurts. If it's still bothering you, call your doctor and get it checked out.

Judge Roy Scream always makes my head hurt, but never anything severe. That coaster may look gentle, but it definitely isn't.
