...and the GOOD NEWS is that the tests done last week showed that everything else is NORMAL. That is to say, no cancer has spread beyond my breast area. They still have to check on the lymph nodes, though.
I get the port put in next week for the chemo infusion and on Halloween -- my Treat or Treat will be my first chemo treatment. He told me that the chemo drugs I'll be getting are very powerful and to expect to be BALD by 10 days from the 1st treatment. So, this Saturday, it's off to Wig Emporium with my DD17 Carly to get some "hair replacement".
I'll have to have chemo every 3rd Friday for 24 weeks, till about the end of next March. Then surgery. The extent of the surgery will depend on the size of the tumor after the chemo.
I'm still opening in "Mame" week. I hope the 1st chemo treatment doesn't leave me with bad side effects -- they told me it shouldn't. I'll be getting anti-nausea medicine, etc.
So, keep me in your prayers. The prayers and best wishes have done wonders so far -- at least I know there's no cancer anywhere else to worry about and I just have to deal with the course of treatment.
I couldn't do this without ALL OF YOU!!! Val
