Saw a Commercial for Free Birthday!

I was watching ABC last Friday (4/2) and saw a commercial for the free entry on your birthday through 12/31/2010. This was at the 9:00 p.m. hour and saw this commerical. I thought it was a mistake and that I misheard the dates and promo, but I hit rewind on the DVR and verified it was correct.

I did call disney and ask and no one knows what I'm talking about. I'm trying to see if anyone else saw this commerical with the updated dates or was it just a late April Fools joke??

Several people have reported seeing those commercials recently. But as you unfortunately found out, anyone who has attempted contacting Disney about it has been told that no such promotion is available. It's pretty mindboggling.

Sounds like when the boss came in and told the marketing people, 'Come on guys, let's roll the old Celebrate set of tapes out again...' someone forgot to pull that tape from the collection before handing it over to the network.

In our market, we just get the same one over and over - the balloons appearing as the kids have their moments to celebrate.

First I heard of it but would make sense they might dredge up last years promo if it will bring in people because of the HP Opening at US, since the GAD promo ended rather abruptly.

If they just dredged up last year's commercials, the dates would be wrong.

Nothing on the web site at all.

Perhaps someone in marketing goofed?

And it would be unfair to start up something like that now, and only run it through the end of the year. What about people who have birthdays that aren't covered by the promotion?

My husband saw this too. I cant remember what night it was. I think either Saturday or Sunday night. I was in the room but I was looking at the PC(Dissing)LOL. I did hear birthday and turned and asked him what it was. He said "It was something about a free birthday" I looked on WDW.com but didnt see anything? I wonder what happened?

I am so hoping this is true. My birthday falls during our trip, it would be wonderful!

I'm not getting my hopes up, but it wouldn't surprise me much if this turns out to happen, since GAD/GAD is over already.

I doubt it. My husband saw it too. I wasnt looking at the tv but I did hear "birthday".
