Not saying that at all. It's easy to look up these two on Wikipedia to contrast their views. Not saying right or wrong, just opposite. I hope the movie does well. I'm sure I'm not the only Walt fan who just isn't interested in seeing it.

The only differences I see on their Wikipedia pages are the fact that Disney was a Republican and Tom Hanks is a Democrat. But that can't possibly be what you mean. Of course there are also the rumors about Disney. But again, that can't possibly be what you mean.

Do you really expect all actors to have the same views as the characters they play?

It is a great film and tom hanks is brilliant. He isn't trying to imitate Disney, just represent him, if you know what I mean?!

Should have been Ryan Gosling in my opinion. He seems to represent old Hollywood as far as style and he looks more like Walt. Some people have mentioned things that I had no idea about. I certainly was not referring to anything negative on the part of either person.

I'd be much more interested in seeing a biography of Walt's life. Don't care about Mary Poppins or how it got made into a movie.

I love Tom Hanks as an actor, but not as Walt. I think they should have cast someone who isn't as well known for his views on two topics which are inappropriate to go into on this board which are in opposition to Walt's views. I'm sure the casting people had all read the biographies that are out there before casting Hanks in the role. They would have done better casting an unknown IMO. I would have loved to see this movie with another actor as Walt. JMO

I read an interview with Tom Hanks where he said that he loved playing the role of Walt. He took it very seriously, too. He interviewed a lot of people who knew Walt personally, including the late Diane Disney Miller.

Hanks' wife wasn't a big fan of the mustache, though.
