I'm heading there in October for the first time! Can't wait! We are staying in a VRBO house on tybee island

Well our trip was great but hurricane Matthew chased is out of town. We were due to leave Wednesday the 5th and evacuations were announced for the same day. So gas stations were running out of gas and groceries out of water. We were fine but it was sad to see people having to leave their homes. Afterwards we saw video footage of places we had just been that were damaged

As far as our trip, we went on a walking ghost tour/pub crawl at night which was fun. We took a trolley tour and had an outstanding driver/guide named Ruben. Went to Bonaventure cemetery and wormsloe plantation where part of Forrest Gump was filmed. We also ate at the pirate house and shopped on the river walk.

The rest of the time we were on tybee island, walking the beach, on a dolphin watch boat, and climbing the lighthouse.
