All of the standard Savannah rooms overlook the resort's wildlife reserve. These resort reserves are separate from those that house the animals at AK park, BTW. The hotel was especially designed to maximize the number of rooms that overlook the savannahs because they're obviously the hotel's biggest draw. In addition to the fantastic views of the animals you'll have from your balcony, there are also viewing locations all throughout the hotel and it's grounds to see the animals.
I have heard that "savannah view" for the new DVC rooms is a slightly different classification system. The DVC rooms are classified by size, not necessarily view. For example, a savannah view DVC studio could overlook the pool instead of a savannah depending on which room you actually get. I find that to be pretty confusing. However, it sounds like you are not staying in a DVC room and have just a standard Savannah View hotel room book, so you're guarenteed a view of the reserve. Hope this helps! Enjoy!
