.. are not an appropriate choice for on board meal

PSA to the passenger in 1C who boarded 2nd, right after me, sat next to me, and promptly opened his hot meal to eat while boarding continued.

It filled the cabin with a stench, and I started to retch. Almost every passenger who boarded after us commented. The FA simply responded by telling ME that I could deplane if I wanted - how about asking the passenger with the smelly meal to eat it outside and reboard after he was finished?

Ewwwwww! I always wonder what people are thinking about when they bring some foods onboard. Besides, why couldn't they have eaten before getting on the plane? That's just plain nasty and rude!!!

Bavaria, I would be more worried about what the passenger was going to do after they consumed that combination of food. I think I would be more worried about the basement than the attic. :lmao:

:rotfl: trust me, the lingering garlic and sauerkraut stench overpowerd any 'after effects' of the meal.... ;)

bavaria-

I am truly sorry this happened to you. I have a personal aversion to sauerkraut and the mere sight of it makes me gag involuntarily, so I do feel your pain.

However, I must admit....despite my empathy, I laughed so hard when I read your post that I had tears in my eyes. :rotfl2:

To me, it is just one more of the sad realities of travel these days.

In the "good old days," the inflight food sometimes reeked to me. But of course, there were not so many competing smells. Now it can be sauerkraut in row one, pizza in 2 and Mickey D's in row 3. And what is obnoxious to one person is not to another. The smell of McDonalds is overpowering to me.....unless I'm eating it.

Does gumbo smell that strongly...I have never noticed that?

Bavaria, mabe it's time to add a pair of noseplugs to that carryon.;)

On our trip home from Austin last week, we sat in front of a group that brought barbeque dinner on board. Now, I like barbeque, both the Carolina kind and the good 'ole Texas kind, but man............that packed one powerful aroma!! :rotfl:
We were all the way up front and there were folks coming up from the back to investigate!
My DH was salivating; I was borderline "eeuuw"!

Glad that I could add some humour to the dry Transportation Board! :rotfl:

I am just going to chalk this one up to the joys of travel. At least I knew that if I was gong to toss my cookies, I would end up tossing them in the direction of 1C....;)

CPT Tripss, I am actually an oxymoron - a Bavarian veggie (thanks to too much sausage and sauerkraut in my childhood!)

Limburger cheese sandwich at 30,000 feet. Now that's a meal to slooowly enjoy !!!:duck:

Now that would get you a row to yourself very quickly. No, your own private section!

I'm after the whole plane so I will add the sauerkraut. Think I will need beans???:confused3

well, if you add beans and sauerkraut, the plane may arrive early due to the extra wind power..... ;)

come to think of it, my flight with MrGumboSausageandSauerkraut DID arrive early - maybe RWeThereYet is on to something! :rotfl:

Makes you wonder what some people are thinking!

On my last trip this past month, my seatmate had wine, chocolates, and bbb sandwich.

I was so hungry because I couldn't eat due to short connection time. The smell for 2 hrs....

herc.
