I am confused! It seems I have seen in many posts here to avoid MK on Saturdays and on the UOG website Mk is listed as best park for most Saturdays? I am wondering because we plan on arriving Thursday evening 11/2/06 and if Mk seems like a good park to visit either Friday or Saturday I would like to book a monorail resort and then we are hoping to move to BCV on Sunday 11/5-11/10. Any ideas?

We went to MK on Saturday 2/25, and it wasn't that bad. EMH Saturday morning was MGM, so we hit RNRC and a few other attractions, and then went to MK around 11am. Was it crowded? Of course, but I've seen much worse. We went to MK on Saturday as we had character meals CRT@lunch, and Liberty Tree@dinner.

Also, there was no EMH on Saturday night, so we just stayed around for the whole night. I can't vouch for what it might be like in November.

We went on a Saturday our last trip and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly we went from ride to ride. We were done with Fantasyland by 10:15 a.m. (following the UG plan), and this was the first week in June. We left after lunch, so I'm not sure how bad it gets later in the day. We tried to go back Sunday afternoon and it was miserable.

That is surprising, because just the opposite is true. I would avoid MK on a Saturday. If you must visit on that day, get to the park before opening and head for the most popular rides first.

We were just at MK on Saturday, March 4. It was very crowded. We returned on Sunday and found it much more manageable.

our last trip in jan. fantasyland was impassible by around noonish.i mean shoulder to shoulder, falling over parked stroller crowded. the rest of the park wasn't nearly as bad but we left and went to epcot. i have heard it's cause lots of locals bring their kids then so add it to the tourists and you've got a swarm..sometimes it is also when they have spectro and wishes( at least it was while we were there) so that would add to the throngs

sometimes the ug just seems to pick a park that doesn't have emh that day for the park it calls least busy...i like it but it seems geared more toward peak season or something, i just have not found it to be real accurate about things like that( might just happen that way for me, who knows, i don't go as often as they must!)

We had a similar experience last October. As I recall, two well-known planning resources which shall remain nameless :rolleyes1 had both recommended MK for that particular Saturday. We bailed early in the afternoon that day.

I too would avoid MK on Saturday if possible. We were to head home early this past Saturday morning...but just couldn't keep ourselves from heading over for a few last rides before our long drive home. Even at park opening it was MUCH more crowded than any day the previous week. Maybe it was just heading into spring break, etc...but at park opening on Friday we rode Buzz three times with no line...on Saturday there was already a 10 minute wait by 9:10.

MK should be avoided on Saturday mostly during the evening hours It is like being stuffed in a sardine can. AK is to be avoided during the day on a Saturday. Lines where 1 to 2 hours long last time I was there.

MK always seems to be crowded on Saturdays. Since that is when most of the local residents come down, the parks in general seem to fill up. I would try another park on Saturdays.

I avoid MK on Saturdays. I have been one Saturday that was manageable out of all my trips. I'm shocked that any respectable planning site would recommend MK on Sat.

I am so glad to see this question, I have been saying the same thing to myself. I have ALWAYS heard Saturdays are the worst day at MK, so I was shocked to see the UG list it as the best park. Now, I haven't been since they instituted the current EMHs, so I don't know how much it has changed, but it still seems questionable to me :confused3

I would say how crowded MK is depends on some on the season. As for my own experience when we have been there in the past (mid-September and mid-August) Saturday seemed like the worst possible time to be there. I was a little surprised by the crowd in September because we had arrived on Thursday night and on Friday MK was our first park and the crowd seemed to move right along. However, we had a few rides that we didn't get to on Friday so we thought we would go to MK first thing Saturday morning. The first 30 to 60 minutes wasn't too bad but within one hour people were tripping over each other so we left and went to Epcot.

Overall, I very much agree with the posts saying to avoid the MK on a Saturday. But, most of the crowd doesn't arrive until 10:00 or 11:00 (usually). So if you are there at opening and you hit al the rides as fast as fast as you can, it IS manageble. But at 11:00 look down Main Street and you will see a Wall of People with Strollers coming straight at you.
