Are they really that bad now? For our upcoming June trip, I've planned for us to hop over to MK after dinner on a Saturday for riding rides while the parade & fireworks are occurring. I planned it this way because we've always had success on Saturdays at MK. However, I think this success was due to late EMH that was on a Friday at MK, which lowered the crowds on a Saturday. Since the late EMH is gone now, I'm worried that it will be so crowded on Sat. that we'll wish we had chosen another day. Plus, we've only stayed during the day on a Sat. at MK in the past. I felt we had less crowds due to others traveling during the day. I'm afraid many will travel in & arrive just in time Sat. night to head straight to MK for nighttime activities.
Will we see a noticeable difference if we go on a Friday night instead? There's a morning EMH the day before at MK which I think will mean less people will go Friday & there's a late EMH at Epcot on Friday which will draw away crowds from MK. I'm thinking I should move our plans around but since it's summer it may be so crowded every day that I won't notice a huge difference. What would you do?

It depends on how long you are staying and if you are in a Disney hotel. We always go for three weeks and stay inside. You might get slightly lower numbers for rides during parades and such but a lot of people will have the same idea. During the day I would use that for shopping, chilling and taking it all it. go on smaller rides that have less people. Use the EMH for your big rides.

We were there last Sunday for emh til 3 am and could walk on almost every ride from 10 til 1. This was the night before Memorial Day!! With the MBs we decided to leave once the emh started since the lines to get them scanned were forever. We had the same experience of very short waits on another weekday from 10 to 12. This Saturday we tried to do the same thing and even during the parade and fireworks waits were very long. We ended up leaving around 11:30 because it was just packed with crowds of teenagers. Even the people mover had a long wait!!!!

Edit: the teens appeared to be locals and therefore were not affected by where magic hours were.
