satelite radio?

I have had both SIRIUS and XM and in my opinion XM sucks hard! Excuse my language, but it is soooo bad. They play the most random songs out there. Not sure how there music selection employees keep there jobs.

SIRIUS on the other hand is excellent! I had SIRIUS for years but my new car is XM ready so have been tolerating that until I can select the SIRIUS only plan!

I feel your pain! I can't figure out the formats they follow for their stations either, there's just no consistency. But there are many people that like XM (I don't think they're "rockers" though...;) )...:rotfl2:

I love XM - not sure I'm really a rocker type, though. I especially love the decades channels (mostly the 40s and the 80s) and Cinemagic (movie music).

I have heard people on both sides complain about the playlists of the two services. One thing I have heard often is that XM plays many of the more obscure, rare tracks (and overall just a greater variety of tracks) while Sirius plays more of the well-known, popular music. I tend to prefer XM. Since the merger, XM seems to be repeating songs more often and playing more of the popular songs, and the people I know who have both services say that it's starting to sound more like Sirius. :( A great resource to learn more about XM is XMfan.com - it's a discussion board that has pages for many of the channels as well as general XM discussion.

We love our XM. Every Red Sox game, every day... regardless of where we are in the country (which can be anywhere!.) Sirius and XM overlap on many stations; news, cspan, public radio, etc. I love On Broadway and Cinemagic, as well as the holiday channels. No interest in listening to HS... Give me the Writer's Almanac anyday.

Well, we have ended up with both... Direct TV uses XM radio for its music channels, and we have a vehicle that came Sirius equipped with a six month activation. I personally said " I would never pay to listen to a radio" BUT since we have Sirius , I have listened to nothing else. Good music, funny comedy, and a strange hit for me is channel 118 or Radio Classics... which is all the old radio shows from the 30's,40's, and 50's.
My personal choice would be Sirius... :woohoo:
