Sassy Somethings - Happy November

Mine was Get Back by The Beatles. I was never a very big Beatles fan. What did girls see in them? I think they were ugly! But I'll take one or 2 of Judi's firemen! They can carry me around when my back hurts too much!!

th:

Hey Angie! I tried mine and it was "American Woman/ No Sugar Tonight" by The Guess Who. My DH's was "Come Together/ Something" by The Beatles.

OK. You guys can fight over the firemen. I'll take him:

Elvis :woohoo: don't I feel young and chipper I'm all shook up:scared1:

Can someone please do finish this resume for me.:worship:

Angie - Surely that man is the cure for your back. If you told your discs what you could do to that man if you were healthy, do you think they would listen?

I have just set up my Tivo to catch every single swimming, gymnastics and equestrian event being broadcast for this Olympics. I think I may have caught a few badminton events in my net (oooh, pun not intended but that's a good one, isn't it?).

How do you think one becomes an Olympic Badminton player? And, do they still wear that nice white uniform when they play? I still think tennis would be more fun to watch if they had stuck to the white uniforms. It was a nice balance to the green court, and the symmetry soothed my brain. Now they are all over the place fashion wise with fuschia and shades of chartreuse. Jarring to my feeble brain, I say.;) Plus, the grunting gets on my nerves. How did we get along in the 1980's with gruntless tennis?

Atlas, you can run but you can't hide - they will smell the bindings in your cute little doggy breath. Give yourself up, and promise to chew literature no more!:)

Good morning Sassies! Today is the day for my new haircut and color. I should be nervous, but alas I am not.

Angie, you should get Sawyer! I deem him yours, then you could get your back fixed asap. Just tell him you'll wrap him up like a pretzel if he fixes your back.

Judi, I love Elvis! So much better than the Beatles, never a fan of the haircut or them. I do like a few songs, but I love most Elvis songs.

Wilma, I think we should try out for the next Olympic games for badmiton. It can't be that hard can it? I took badmiton in college. I needed 2 gym classes and had a hard time fitting them in and it fit perfectly! I would have taken swimming, but I didn't want to get all wet before another class. We would rock the next Olympics, but I don't want to go to China and breathe their polluted air.

Julie and Heather, did you book chewers eat the books or just chew them up? I would think that would make for some interesting poo if they swallowed. Mike Rowe may need to be called and I would have to visit then.

Tricia, are the kids all ready to go back to school. I am sad for them, summer went by so quickly!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Sassies! Happy Thursday! My mom goes home tomorrow. :guilty: Today we are going on a picnic and to the marine corps museum.

Bex, good luck with your hairdo! Hope it turns out great! Are you getting something different done? Or a touch-up? My hair appt is on the 20th, I thought about getting something new done, but I think I'll just keep it the same for now.

Wilma, :rotfl: on the badmitton soliloquy. You crack me up, lady!

Angus, where are you lady? Wrapped up in your Breaking Dawn book? I cannot read these days. My mind is just a-hoppin' all the time and I can't focus. Maybe after my mom leaves.

Howdy Judi, julie, Tricia, Heather and all my buddies.

Good morning to all you sassy ladies.

Well today was the last day I was able to sleep in. I actually heard the alarm go off at 5:00 for Mark but I was determined to fall back to sleep. I'm not sure what we'll do today but something fun on their last day of freedom. I'll let the kids decide when they wake up.

Becca what color are you trying out today?

Bonnie have fun with your mom. I'm sure today must be a bittersweet day for you.

Hello to all our other sassies who must still be sleeping.

Wilma I have a badminton net set up in our back yard. Maybe I should have tried out for the team? Well it's really a volley ball net but we do have badminton rackets and birdies. We play all the time. :cutie:

Good morning, Sassaroonies! Just two more days until we are off to the beach!

Bonnie - Have a fun day with your mom! I know you will miss her when she goes. Do you know when you will see her again?

Tricia - Last Day of Freedom! Do something fun, and cap it off with ice cream. A good summer should always be capped off with ice cream.;) Becca and I will be over in the evening to begin our Badminton training. You should sign on too, but I think you will have to change your nifty blue exercise dress for a spiffy white outfit.:thumbsup2 I am putting Becca in charge of bringing the lemonade and tea cookies for refreshment. Badminton seems like a lemonade-and-tea-cookie sport, not so much a Gatorade and Powerbar sport.

Becca - We shall rock the 2012 Olympics, my friend! I like the tea cookies with the sprinkly things on them - they improve my serve and volley technique, I believe.

Angie - when your back heals, bring your new boyfriend and join the Badminton team. He looks like a tall drink of water, we'll need the height advantage.:thumbsup2

Judi - Did you finally deplete those gift cards, lady? Get working!;)

Heather, Julie, Kimmy and Sarah - Howdy do! What's up with you?

Becca - I have always firmly believed that the world is split into Beatles People and Elvis People. However, I am allowed to be the one exception (it is my rule, you know) and like both equally.

It's time for that time honored tradition, ladies - the QOTD! Are you a Beatles Person or and Elvis person? If you don't answer by sunset, you will be deemed a Milli Vanilli Person!:rotfl:

Oh my goodness Wilma! Milli Vanilli flashback and I am laughing very hard! They were popular right when I met Brian and he used to make up lyrics to their songs all the time. "Blame it on cocaine" was my favorite at the time.

I will answer the QOTD even though you know because I don't want to get put in the MV camp. It is Elvis, skinny Elvis, hip flexing Elvis. I even gravitate to the Elvis penny machines at the casino so he will sing to me if I hit the right combination. Sad isn't it?

Bonnie, sorry you can't concentrate on reading! I had to know what happened of course and read the last page first whilst waiting in line at Walmart. Of course then I was confused and had to start reading the rest right away.

Tricia, I second ice cream, lots of ice cream. Have a fun day with the kiddos. Wilma and I will be over this evening for practice and I will bring the refreshments. We will have a killer team I'm sure!

How many are on a badmiton team? Is it like volleyball? Surely not because of the rackets right? I think it may be 2 or 4.

Good Morning!

I don't think Jasmine ate any of the book she chewed....although chewed probablyisn't the right word either. She Shredded the book. It was in about a million pieces.......like it has been put through a paper shredder (but I swear mine is put away in the closet unplugged cuz I worry about little fingers). She is just a destruco-dog and loves shredding things...paper plates, the newspaper, the yogurt cup Joey left on the floor, a paper cup, a plastic cup (although plastic doesn't shred in the same way ;)) and of course she is trying to destroy every single pair of my shoes!!:headache:

Anone have any big plans for today? I am thinking of working on cleaning the garage. I have a huge garage that I can't get the cars in:rolleyes1

Julie~ I guess my books have some organization. My paperback romances are on a bookcase by my bed, Scott has most of his nursing books on the bookcase on his side of the bed, the childrens books are on built-in shelves in the room with the pool table, and the other shelves are all the other misc books that are mostly grouped by size. I think it would be helpful to order the children's books by title......and i think it might be nice to list what I have. I have bought more than one copy of many books simply because I have so many I can't remember what I have. I love books and am always getting them at yard sales and the half price book store.:lovestruc

QOTD~~ I like the songs of both, but I agree that the beatles are not good looking.

I looked up the #1 song on my birthday and it was "Let's Get it On" by Marvin Gaye.
:rolleyes1 Do you think it was out 9 months earlier?:lmao:

QOTD ~ Definitely

. Here's a cute smilie of the Beatles for all you fans out there.

I loved watching all the Elvis movies. I still watch when I find one while channel surfing. :happytv:

Good morning to the Sassy Badminton team! Why is that word spelled so weird? Since Becca is such a fan of bleach she will be able to keep our uniforms sparkly white! I will just be the cheerleader until my back feels better, but I will gladly bring Sawyer to help out. But I think we should tell him that he has to play shirtless. What do you think?

And Judi can bring her firemen! I just realized that I know nothing about badminton-is it 1 on 1, or is it a team sport? I know it's played with little racquets and thanks to Tricia a birdie and a net, but that's it.

QOTD~Elvis definitely! I really love him in that black leather outfit he wore in his comeback special after Lisa Marie was born (sorry- I've watched too many biographies of him). He was smokin'!

Bonnie~have fun on your last day with your mom! I used to be such a baby I'd cry when my mom left. Now we live in the same town and I hardly ever see her!

I am NOT enjoying the storyline of Breaking Dawn. This isn't what I wanted to happen at all. I've read about 3/4 of it, so maybe it'll get better! This book is particularly gory, too.

Angie, hurry up and finish so I can pm you about it at least! I still don't want to say anything since you aren't completely done. Are you done with Jacob's narration yet?

Yep-I'm back to Bella. I probably won't finish until this weekend cuz BB is on tonight, and I need to watch Tuesdays episode first. I DON'T LIKE IT!!! I'm hoping something major will happen between now and the end cuz me no happy right now. I'm at the point where Charlie is visiting. That's all I say since Bonnie hasn't finished yet. What are we going to read now?? Someone else on the DIS started a thread about this, and Charlaine Harris' southern vampire series was recommended as well as Nora Roberts' Blood Brothers. But I think I'm going to start the HP series again. I've only read the last one once!!

I'm going to start the HP series again too! Brendan and I are rereading it together as soon as school starts. He has to read everyday for school anyway so it will be fun! I was disappointed in BD when I was where you are too. I was hoping for some steamy sex scenes.:rotfl2: It just seemed too far fetched even for a vampire story.

Ooohh, count me in on the HP re-read club too! I just started book 7 again, in anticipation of my beach trip.:thumbsup2 I am surprised how many of the ins and outs I had forgotten!

Angie - do you want Joey (from BB) out as much as I do? I have yet to find anyone in the cast I like. This group seems dumber than in years past.

Elvis-I can't help falling in love with you. That song made me choose over the fab 4.

Judi ~ I had that song played at our wedding. We didn't have a soloist or anything. We played some songs as folks were seated and that was one of them. I figured someone would have a conniption, but I didn't care. I LOVE THAT SONG and I LOVE ELVIS!!!

How are all of you hag-ettes?? I just got done with a 14+ hour day. How at a library when we were only open for 8 hours??? We had our new circulation desk delivered and installed and I had to see it through... I have to work tomorrow and do a 45 minute presentation, its an easy one though, I think. But still, the summer is supposed to be LOW KEY....
