The CDC has updated the information for SARS
http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/sars/casedefinition.htm

SARS is not an airborne virus as it was originally thought. It appears that SARS is spread through 'close contact' of secretions.

If you practice good hand washing techniques, your chances of catching SARS even if exposed is minimal. It is very interesting how the media isn't all over this new news now that SARS isn't as scary as it once was.

Hi dalefo99, welcome to the DIS. I'm glad you decided to join us.

Very interesting about S.A.R.S. The media seems to want to sensationalize everything I think, in their quest for ratings.

Thanks for the information. I will be very careful about washing my hands often.

My father is a doctor and when I asked him about SARS he told me that it had a lower death rate than the flu..... about 3% of those afflicted die.

There ya go.....

When's the last time CNN posted that....? There's good money in fear for a news network.

News Media especially TV

RANTINGS always lead to RATINGS
Truth be dammed! (sorry for the cussing)

thanks for the info and link!

Thanks
Jason
