Hi - If you have stayed at SSR, have you ever experienced noise from DTD? DTD looks so close (is so close) to SSR! We once stayed at the Grand Floridian and could hear some sort of concert going on in the MK until the wee hours of the morning. Who woulda thought?!?!

Stayed there three times. Honestly, I did hear noise out on the patio at night. (Knew it was music but couldn't make out the song) But with the doors closed I heard nothing. SSR is actually a very peaceful, beautiful resort.

DTD clubs at Pleasure Island have all been closed; I know HOB occasionally has live music/concerts but other than that venue I'm not sure if any other locations at DTD have evening entertainment and I think stores close around midnight.

:)

Hi! We just stayed in a 2 bedroom that over looked DTD. It was beautiful and very quiet... maybe because Pleasure Island now closed. I love SSR, it's beautiful! I almost bought points there but BLT won us over. Who could pass up the chance to walt to Magic Kingdom.

Anyway, you shouldn't have any problems with DTD noise. Good luck!

I stayed in a studio at ssr with a DTD view and never heard anything and this was when pleasure island was still open

We stayed in SSR last week, in a room overlooking the water across from DTD. NO noise at all. SSR is beautiful and quiet.

Our favorite spot is in the Hot Tub at the quiet pool at Congress Park in the late evening.

It has usually been a long day, and just sitting there, enjoying the tub, the peolple, and the ever-so-slight music beat from Pleasure Island - knowing I didn't have to participate, didn't have to fight my way through the busy croud, or work my way onto a bus for the long ride home (or the walk if you prefer).

Ahhhhhhh - just thinking about it makes me want to be there!

I loved SSR for the quite, but I had not heard downtown was closed, does that include the comedy club. When and why did this happen??

It's just the Pleasure Island clubs that have closed for several months, including the Comedy Warehouse; the rest of DTD is alive and well.

As to the whys? Lots of speculation, no hard facts. The Disney Powers That Be tend to keep their own counsel on that. I'm sure it was a financial decision.

Last I heard Pleasure Island area of DowntownDis is slated to become more 'family-friendly' venues - restaurants, shopping, entertainment experiences but as others here have said nothing as of yet is 100% absolute.

:)
