Sarah & Bobby's 11-13-11 WP/GF--Completed--ALL PHOTO LINKS FIXED!

I booked our resort for our Planning Session in July today! 3 nights at the Polynesian! Im so excited I could pee!:banana: Now just to book the flights...Im kind of bummed about that part because theyre so expensive now!! Theyve gone up almost $115 bucks!...OUCH! Anybody know of a good way to get discounted flights?

We arrive on Thursday and leave on Sunday.

Thursday-get in late, go straight to bed!!
Friday-9-11am: Hair and Makeup Trial w/Beaute Speciale
Friday-1-5pm: Planning Session with Lisa Smith!
Saturday-TBD
Sunday-TBD(but we do have Kona ressies for lunch at 12:05 before we have to leave for the airport)

I just need to decide on parks and other stuff. Im thinking of taking more time off and getting there thursday morning to have two days in the parks..what do yall think? What all should I do while Im down there? (florists, uplighting, etc??) Do I need more time?

Also, Im working on getting some pictures posted of my BFFs wedding, it was gorgeous! It may provide some inspiration for others. I'll update soon! :cutie:

yikes... i know all about the flights. the problem is your sunday flight. you need to leave saturday or monday... check out the prices and see if it's cheaper to stay an extra day! it has been for us in the past! maybe see if you can rent someone's points and get a studio on the cheap :)

i think we're going to have to rent a little car (for gas purposes) and drive 12 hours down because the prices are just out of control. i'm trying to rent points to go a day earlier so we can drive and not miss any time.

if you're going to do parks, you probably want a little more time. check the hours and see what's open late and go from there. if you need help hunting for rental points, i'll keep an eye out for you... just let me know!!

also... make sure you take pictures of all the place you want to "take pictures" lol... sounds funny but it'll give your photographer a good idea :)

oh... and thanks for :lovestruc'ing my dress :)

This is what Ive got so far..what do yall think? I feel bad that we dont have any resort restaurants..like a Cali Grill or GF restaurant. :confused3 Im thinking that on Thursday we can go to MK and play, then have dinner. Friday I assume we wont be eating dinner bc we will be so full from the tasting? Im thinking we can do Epcot that night and head to MK for EMH if were up to it. Then Saturday we can do DHS that morning with lunch at the brown derby to fill my cobb salad quota! :lovestruc I can NOT go to WDW and not have the cobb...its like a cardinal sin! Then I figure we can go to Epcot that night for Illuminations. Sunday morning take it slow, lounge around the hotel or hit a park early before our noon lunch at Kona.

I dont have our flights booked but Im thinking get there early on Thursday and leave late on Sunday! What do you all think?

I think it all looks fab!! =]

The resort restaurant is kinda stinky.. but that just means you have more time for in the parks! Plus you can always hit up a resort restaurant on one of your next trips out there!!

I agree with the arrive early, leave late situation.. I ALWAYS do this when going to Disney ha.

umm.. you probably need a kona breakfast in there too :rolleyes1

it's pretty delish and not very expensive :) i live for their coffee!!

Hi,I love the pictures. Just one question where did you get your david tutera wedding flutes??? Thanks for your time

So life has been hectic...

Last weekend (well I guess 2 weekends ago) my dad had a heart attack. He was rushed to the hospital and had surgery to put in a stint. He is recovering well and feeling better now. He has a doctors appointment tomorrow to follow up and let him know whats going on, and what his next steps should be. I would and I know he would appreciate any and all prayers he could possibly get! Like I said he is doing better and recovering well, but there is still a long road ahead of him. Its really scary because he's only 49 and is a pretty healthy guy--not overweight or anything. Although we do have a family history of heart problems and whatnot. I guess it just goes to show that you really cant take life for granted and to live every moment to its fullest...A lesson Im taking pretty seriously.

BEWARE..THIS IS A SERIOUSLY MAJOR UPDATE!

On the wedding front my rhinestone hair comb came in, and it is fabulous!--Another Disbride had it, I saw it and knew I had to have it!!

It is really similar to my bracelet

I bought the bows for my flowergirls! They will be in white. Also, it matches the tiara pin that will go on my bouquet..

my bouquet pin--to refresh your memories!

And I bought another pair of shoes. Usually I wear a 6.5 but these were the last pair in the color ANYWHERE! So I snagged the 6! These are also stolen from another Disbride...:rolleyes1 They will match all the glitzyness from the bodice on my gown. :lovestruc

We will be registering for all of our stuff this weekend, and I am SO not 'in the know' does anyone have any ideas, tips, tricks, or any advice to offer? We do not live together right now..though we did for a year or so while we were away at college..so we literally dont have ANYTHING! My mom bought me a nice set of pots and pans for Christmas last year so weve got that...but thats IT! Im so excited to register but Im so nervous too..its kind of starting to feel a little bit real, you know? YIKES!

I've given my idea to make the 24 hour drive to WDW for our wedding up..Im starting to look at the dates and trying to start planning for stuff soon and Im spending too much time and money by driving..when shipping it all and flying will be cheaper in the end. We are actually going to ship it down in July while were there for our PS and have it arrive while were there, then put it into a storage unit (climate controlled) until November. That way its not freaking me out as much. Do yall think this is a good or bad idea? I really would like to know what others point of view on this possible solution is. The lady I spoke to today at a storage place said that she has another Disney bride doing that right now! I though that was pretty funny and relieving that Im not the only weirdo coming up with these goofy solutions! :rotfl:

Now that my BFFs wedding is over its forcing me to focus on my own..:scared1: Here is my latest to do list; brace yourselves...its pretty hefty!

TO DO:

-book airfare for PS, and finalize schedule
-book airfare for wedding, and accomodations..still dont know where im going to stay yet..thats a problem! Ideas?
-check out floral companies, including disney--get pricing for what we are not doing ourselves.
-find a company to print invitations.--we bought ours at michaels, but im -interested in getting them printed. if its too expensive we can put my trusty ole inkjet at home to use! ;)
-make changes to ceremony wording
-register--this weekend!
-figure out bridesmaid dresses--going with my MOHs April 30th to try on!
-figure out ceremony songs-im up in the air about alot of them
-get FMIL to book rehearsal dinner, i know where she wants I think she just needs to finalize
-figure out menu-this is a problem. our PS is July 29. if we finalize menu then and print/sendout invites ASAP after getting home that is at the 4 month mark. right now we have a selection between mahi mahi and parm crusted chicken for our entrees. i want to have the selection card as part of the invites but is that too long to wait to send out invites? That would be 4 months prior. when did you send out invites or when do you plan on it? we cant push up our PS because DF will be studying hard and testing for his state board exams. what do you guys suggest or think would be best? should we just decide ahead of time thats going to be our choices? what if we hate them and want to switch? :confused3 this is stressing me out.

I will keep updating that list as I go...I have this inky feeling its going to get worse..

Im pretty sure thats it for now...I feel really behind, and the knot's checklist has so much highlighted in red that it doesnt help..lol!

Oohh I just wanted to say I LOVE that bow! I love the crown so much. ...Can I be a flower girl?!?! :) :)

And I just realized our weddings are just about a month and a half apart--- and my to-do list looks just like yours! How long are you going to wait to buy airfare? I still haven't bought it for our August trip, and prices just keep going up--- gah!

I'm so sorry about your Dad  My father had cancer a few years ago (all better now!), but I know how scary it can be when they are in the hospital and recovering. You and your Dad are in my thoughts and here is some pixie dust for a speedy recovery pixiedust:pixiedust:

Now for the registry, I haven't done mine yet, but I did go shopping for a bridal shower this weekend and my best advice is to put stuff in a wide price range to cover all budgets. Where are you planning on registering? The Kitchenaid mixer is always a standard if you like to bake. Also, a nice set of dishes that can be used on holidays and every day. I spoke to someone at work who got married years ago and still hasn't used her "fancy" china.

Oh geez, airfare is nuts! Its climbing and climbing! I think Im gonna have to cave pretty soon and buy it. I am waiting for Southwest's prices to come out (next week maybe) and see that first. Nothing like dropping a quick 2k on airfare, right? :scared1: Thanks for loving the crowns! I just couldnt contain myself, I love them so much!! :lovestruc I dont think anyone would notice an "older" flowergirl, so come on and join the party!! :lmao:

Thanks for the pixie dust, Wendy! It was pretty scary there for a while. Im so relieved to know I will still have my Dad on my day--regardless of all of our ups and downs.

We are registering at JCPenney (because they are offering a free companion airplane ticket just for registering with them...ummm hello!! Yes please!) Bed Bath & Beyond, and Macy's. I have been RIDICULOUSLY OBSESSED with the kitchenaid standup mixer since I was 6! I am going to put one on each registry just to be sure! :rotfl: That is the one thing I will go out and buy right away if I dont get it as a gift...thats my one obsession! Were also going to do a variety of price points because family and friends' budgets are very different! So far Ive made a list of absolute musts that Ive researched to make sure to get good products, rather than just nice looking ones that may turn out to be problematic in a year or so. I tried the whole 'we may not need the super fine china, etc' route but got some passionate feedback from FMIL and mom. We'll see if we actually get it..Im not getting my hopes up. My BFF I think got 2 place settings of hers, :lmao: but I guess thats a nice romantic dinner for two? lol

I'm so IN LOVE with your comb!! It's gorgeous!!
And the bows, so adorable!!!
And of course, LOVE the shoes! All of it will look fabulous!

Hi Sarah, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he makes a fast and smooth recovery!

Where are you planning on registering at? Macy's has a very good registry checklist, that literally has everything that you could possibly think of on it. I am sure if you go to their website you could print it out and use it at whichever store you plan on registering at. DF and I also do not live together and have NOTHING so we have a lot of stuff on our registry. This was probably the funnest thing about the wedding planning for him so far...I got to scan one item and he was off with the gun!

I love your hair accessorry and the bows! Very pretty. And the idea about the storage unit is great, I never even thought about that. We are driving down a small uhaul.

As far as the menu selection being on the invitation, what you can do is just give general choices such as: fish, chicken, beef. That is what we did on our because I wanted the meal to be a little bit of a suprise and just incase we needed to change it at the last minute due to costs, but we knew we would have a choice between beef and chicken no matter what.

I have so many things to say!! First of all... you have my prayers for your father. I have had my share of experiencing heart attacks and strokes with my father and it's so frightening. I hope he recovers well, though it is always quite the journey and adjustment :sad1:

Back to the wedding: Your comb is amazing, shiny, blingy--fabulous! The shoes--amazing! Mine are the same, but gunmetal grey. I'm wondering if they will be too dark and if I should get them in a brighter silver or white. They're not uncomfortable either... they will do :)

After I saw your post last night I started talking to Dave about registries. I got a thing in the mail for a $20 Target gift card for registering. I told him it would buy us dog food and laundry detergent if we got it  Then we also looked at JCP for the flight that we could use for November or our Planning Session. Watch for the Target thing in the mail. Put things on there that you would prefer not to buy yourself or that people can't mess up. Maybe basic items that go with anything if you don't know what your "theming" will be yet. Microwave, Coffee Maker, Toaster Oven, Vacuum, etc.

On to the travel and storage stuff. I was thinking about doing the Owner's Locker for some stuff. Do you need a whole unit or would that work? I don't know what the costs are for the storage, but it sounds like a purty good idea. 24 hours is a long drive compared to a few hours on the plane. Gas prices are getting rediculous and by that time who knows what they'll be. I would snag a flight. With Southwest you get 2 bags free so if you can do that, it'll be great. I think this is a great solution. Check out rewards programs or credit cards with Southwest to see if you can earn a free flight :)

So are you looking to stay Value, Moderate, Deluxe or Villa?? If it were my vote, I would be hitting up mouse owners dot com (one word) and snag a deal on points for bay lake tower. You'll have tons of extra room for everything and people passing thru and a jacuzzi tub :wizard: I have my other faves as well... but that would be my #1 vote. You have to be aggressive on that board, but I've done pretty well with it :)

The other stuff... floral, printing invites, wording, songs, FMIL's, menus-- I got nothing, lol.

As far as the food choices on the invites, maybe wait until you get your rsvp's back, and send something like a newsletter with extra info with a food option card in it. I dunno... that's a dilemma, but I would definately do the tasting first.

This is why I didn't reply last night--I had too much to say  When I get back in May, I'm going to hit the dvc renting boards hard for a studio at BLT, BCV, or BWV. I already told Dave that I would be at your service as a last minute runner if you needed me  Well maybe I'll get some work done around here... I've been here for 2 hours and haven't done a thing but unlock the storage closet :rolleyes1 Hang in there and let me know if you need anything!!

Oh wow Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad! how scary, I hope he is doing much better. Sending you all best wishes.

Loving all your new updates and fab comb and shoes! :goodvibes

Happy Happy Birthday Sarah!!!!!
