Sarah & Bobby's 11-13-11 WP/GF--Completed--ALL PHOTO LINKS FIXED!

I agree with Deena- I think this way of doing Floral will be a huge stress saver. Could you imagine if something broke during shipping? Sure, you could have it insured, but that doesn't get you a centerpiece on the Big Day! as far as cost of those flowers, I have no clue. I'm still waiting on my BOE. So I'm just as clueless as you. I do know, though, that one of the cheapest flowers they have a Disney is the carnation. All white ones would look awesome, IMHO. Another option is the hydrangea. It is a little more expensive, but it is a HUGE bloom so you need fewer. Again, I don't know the exact costs. Something to ask, though! :)

Hey girl! I totally wanted to respond earlier but the little munchkins I babysit were being incooperative little maniacs so I didn't have enough time to dedicate! ;D

I'm so happy things turned out well with the family! And yay for thinking of me! Since they're from Jersey, tell one of them to sneak me in their suitcase for your wedding?? ;D AND you SHOULD COME VISIT THEM! =] And get to see me as well! Mwahaha!

I think that floral decision is the best decision. I was going to make my own centerpieces and such, but then when I thought about it I do NOT want to rely on someone else to put together MY vision and hope when I walk in the room that it all looks okay. It's just way too nerve wracking for me.

As far as your inspiration goes, LOVE the first and last! =] I can't wait to see what you come up with!

i think the floral decision will be less stressful. you don't want to have to worry about setting everything up. try to sell what you have on ebay as a set?? or turn into decor for your new place :goodvibes maybe try a mix of roses, tulips or lillies. the lillies take up space so that could help. i would give the florist your budget--and tell them to come up with something fabulous. i know we're control freaks, but it may be a pleasant surprise! i'm sorry about the castle :( it sucks when we can't win all the battles :sad2:

I agree with LuvLuvLuv on giving the florist your budget. . . . in fact I'd check with several florists in the area and see what they come up with.. . . just see who comes up with the fabulous ideas. . . . some florists are definitely better than others! Good Luck, my beautiful neice. :cutie:

I know Disney rents the candelabras for $25 without crystals and $65 with. So I imagine an outside florist would be less expensive than that. I would figure out a price you are okay with, scale it back a little and ask the florist what you could get for that price. Then you have a little room to negotiate back and forth. If you add a little greenery and make the flower arrangement "textured" you can fill in some more space and make the arrangement look bigger for less money.

Good luck!!

Thanks guys! I think its the best decision for us too, and I am very excited about it! Im currently working on getting a few quotes from both Disney and outside vendors. Obviously the outside vendors will provide the best value but the convenience issue as well as other minor things may sway us over to Disney...we're just not really sure yet. :confused3

Well I hope everyone is having a better week than I am...I'm sure most of you know about the soap opera that is Deena's (luvluvluv) life? Well it may be working its way down to Texas. :sad2: My a/c has been slowly not getting as cool for the past few weeks/month or two. I think its because the tint on the windows has faded (my car isnt exactly a spring chicken) so I go and pay about $300 to get them tinted as dark as possible. GREAT! It keeps it cooler longer and worked fabulously for about 2 days. At that point my car is blowing HOT air at me...keep in mind its 104+ degrees outside, and I live about 15 miles from my office...so I have a super long, hot, frustrating drive home after a crappy day at work too.. So I call my dad, explain the hot air and funny noise. Immediately he says its the belt. Okay easy fix! I head to the auto part store first thing the next morning on my way to work and pick one up, they guy there recommended someone to put it in for me too. I head over on my lunch hour and they change it, he brings the old belt inside for me to look at (why I have no idea, I dont exactly exude "auto mechanic type" or even one to understand them) so I look at it and he says it was in bad shape..okay, glad its fixed. Im sitting there in the waiting room watching Funniest Home Videos thinking all my problems will soon be solved AND I'll have a nice cool drive home that day! :woohoo:......WRONG!! He later comes back and says, "Your a/c doesnt work does it?" "Ummm no not exactly, its been weird lately" then he tells me that my compressor is broken and needs to be replaced. Like a good girl I say thanks, Ill have my dad look at it and leave. So Im on my way back to the office in a super hot car that is still making terrible noises...I call my dad and he says and I quote,"OOOOOOO" thats it. "Oh." I really start freaking out then a) because im hungry b) i just wasted my entire lunch hour watching funniest home videos for nothing c) because im hot and irritable and d) my job has been a real pain lately...ugggh. i call some dealerships and get quotes ranging from $1000-$1429!! :scared1: Now Im paying for a lot of this wedding myself, so I dont have that kind of cash to just throw into my car...(thats old and I hate and I want to drive off a cliff :rolleyes1) Especially when the minimum is due to DFTW in a few days..I am in serious freak out mode...serious!! So I think my dad is going to fix it, I just have to buy the parts which is more like $400 and sooo much better than the alternative! So while I wait for him to have some time to fix it I am on the verge of a heat stroke or stress induced coma...please say a prayer for me, y'all....:sad2: Oh and dont take your cool drive home for granted. :lmao: You should see the looks of pity I get on my way home with my windows down..hahaha and yes, like a brat I am thinking lots of smack talk about every single one of them. :rotfl:

On to greener and cooler pastures...

Good news!! Im going to get my veil and headband tomorrow!! I will try it all on this weekend and play with some hairstyles too...ive been feeling indecisive lately :rolleyes1 story of my life! Anyways, we're kinda just waiting on some RSVPs to come back and floral at this point...all is quiet on the wedding front..which is suuuper weird! Bridal shower is in a month and we are going to sign our apartment lease tomorrow!! Turns out we can get a different unit about a month earlier!! I am so excited!! This way we have a little bit of time to get settled in before the wedding. :dance3:

Hope everyone is having a great week, SO GLAD TOMORROW IS FRIDAY!! ;)

Aw, girl I'm so sorry about the ac stuff! I hope that it gets fixed soon! But I haven't been having the best of weeks lately either. The past 3 weeks have been so rough. I hate it.

Glad to hear about the headband and veil! I just ordered mine the other day! SO I totally cannot wait to get mine in! That's so exciting.

And we're allowed to be indecisive. We're brides!

Awwww I'm sorry about the car stuff. :( <3 I hope it all gets fixed! My old car didn't have a/c, so I know how you feel! (I have grown accustomed to windows rolled down... my hair always looks really, really nice...:rotfl:)

But make sure to post pictures of your veil! I wanna see it!

OMG!!!! Like 3 days ago the air broke in DF car! I also live in Texas, but I live on the Border. It's usually like 108 degrees here. I was pretty dramatic about it though and I know how you feel. It sucks so bad. By the time you get anywhere you are drenched in sweat. He was able to fix it though but its just so frustrating because extra expenses seem to come out of nowhere.

By the way I really like that centerpiece set up. It looks so pretty but it also looks expensive. Hopefully they give you a decent price. An outside vendor will probably be cheaper. I hope everything works out for you! :)

We selected the centerpiece in your third picture for our reception, I think it is called "enchantment". Disney prices the arrangements then the candelabras. We were quoted 300.00 for the floral, and 25.00 for the candalebras. To help with cost we are moving 2 of our floral arrangements from the ceremony to the reception candelabras. Hope this informaiton helps you out.

Indecisive is THE BEST word for me...you dont even know!

Thanks guys! Its nice to know other people have crap going on too..I was beginning to worry about my karma..lol!

Sorry its been so long, I've been reading everyone else's but not updating mine...such a loser..lol

So we've come to a decision (for now, bahaha) about centerpieces. Were going to have only candelabras, with the crystals as well with some votives and tiny shiny crystals on the tables. Since we will have blue uplighting I think it will help to dress up the room even more. Elizabeth our floral planner says they look great alone and are very dramatic and pretty, which are two things Im definitely into! Also the chiavari chairs will assist with dressing it up too..I hope. I just dont want it to look like we're trying to be cheap (we are , but dont want people to know it...lol) So as of now, thats where we're at with centerpieces. What do yall think? Leave it like that or have a few small flowers on some tables? What do you ladies think?

Here's what I've got to go off of as of now, and what I'm thinking.

We've downgraded the decor in the pavilion to just aisle rose petals and an altar arrangement, which will be reused on the Sweetheart table. :lovestruc My girls will have bouquets of white hydrangeas, and I will carry a bouquet of darker red roses with Mickey rhinestones!!! ....Hey, if I cant get the castle on my cake, you better believe I'm gettin some Mickeys in my bouquet, darnit!

With these changes, we cut the budget SIGNIFICANTLY!! For those of you who asked to see it, I am going to upload it when everything has been finalized...there are a few things we're thinking about at the moment. Including signature cocktails and/or a champagne toast. Champagne toasts are classy and pretty much required in our families, so I need to allow for this..after I find out which method is most cost effective. Anybody have any words of wisdom or experience out there? Also, we were thinking about a signature cocktail but am waiting to hear pricing...I think its silly that Im paying X-amount for an open bar but have to pay extra for everyone to have a specific drink...but only if i ask for it. If they all form a line at the bar and one by one ask for the same drink its okay, but if I (the bride who's paying a small fortune for this wedding) ask for it I'm charged...UGGH! ---okay, rant is over.

We are 73 days away now...HOLY COW!:scared1::scared1::scared1: Its funny how the things you thought were important say even 50 days ago are SO UNIMPORTANT NOW!! What you thought mattered is no longer even happening, or being thought about.. :confused3 where did the time go, and where has my brain gone? I have been a walking stress ball lately. If somebody looks at me funny or says something even a little bit off color I either go into a raging fit (in my head), which only adds to the stress, or I just cry...endlessly. I think I cried for 2 hours the other night..over NOTHING! Needless to say stress is really getting to me, and I really need to get a massage or something just to zone out. Between moving into our apartment next month..which we are so excited about!!!.. the wedding, family drama, furnishing an apartment, and a few other things, Im broke, stressed, and worried. Its just a lot on my plate right now. I know we'll be fine, the wedding will be fabulous, and everything will work out, I think Im just being extra sensitive lately :sad2: which only hurts me in the end..(I think I just channeled my mother with that last comment...creepy!) Anyways, I basically need to grow a pair and deal with it..the only way the best Southern women ever do! :cutie: Sorry for my outloud self therapy session. They really do help! :rotfl:

Bridal shower is next weekend!!:banana::banana: I am so excited, its the one with the Beauty and the Beast invitation, here it is to refresh your memory
bridalshowerinvite-edited-1.jpg

..my two VERY best friends in the world are putting it together for me, and after throwing one earlier this year, and having one hosted in my honor a few months ago, I have a ton of appreciation for the bridesmaids in my life..even more than before. :lovestruc I just am so excited! Anyways, I have my dress but am torn on shoes and jewelry..I'll try to get DF to take a picture of me in the dress soon so I can upload it and get you girls' opinions on what kind of jewelry and shoes. I have two shoe options, but Ill have to go get some jewelry. I dont wear it that often, and when I do I wear the basic and traditional stuff...this one I think needs a little more fun and stuff added to it since the dress is so basic to start with. But yeah, I'll try for some pictures soon.

This weekend (pending that storm in the Gulf doesnt head our way) we are going to the beach with DF's family and brother and new wife! It will be a great way to spend the weekend bonding and what not. :) I love my family to be..after FBIL's wedding last month, I think we got a lot closer and more comfortable with each other. However, I wouldnt be devastated if the storm did come and hit us...we're in a drought thats worse than any we've had since early last century.. :scared1: WE NEED RAIN!!...My raindances have not been working. :lmao:

Okay, I think thats it for now. Talk to yall soon! I promise!! :cutie: Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Heyyy!! I was wondering where you have been.

The candelabra's are seriously gorgeous on their own. Maybe just a few loose cheaper flowers in the little drapes of the candelabra's? But they really don't need it. I highly doubt that anyone will even notice that you're being 'cheap'. It's going to be gorgeous. =]

I totally hear you about the signature drink. If we do a signature drink we won't get charged but if it's something that they need to get different ingredients we do. It's kinda crazy that Disney would charge extra. Bizarr-o! ;D

I need to find a way to significantly cut my budget, that's why we're going to go talk to florists soon to get some pricing ideas.

But like you, I'm so dang indecisive, I can't book anything definite just yet because I keep changing my mind every 5 minutes! haha. ;D Oh well.

I can't wait to hear all about your shower! I hope the storm doesn't hit you full force, just a smidge so that you can get some rain over there!! =] Have a great weekend girl!

I just read all of your PJ between last night and this morning! I LOVE it, your ideas are all so elegant! We are just staring to plan our DFTW, so I am new to the boards, but I wanted to drop a line and say how gorgeous your wedding is going to be! I can't wait to follow along and see it all come to life! Congrats!

Sabrina

Hey Sarah. Love the updates. I think the candelabras will look great even without flowers. The lighting is going to be gorgeous! I am so glad that I added lighting to my wedding, it made a HUGE difference!

Have fun at your shower, can't wait to see pictures.

For the signature drink, I picked one and then we gave it a name, they made a sign for it and put it on the bar. Then people could order it if they wanted to. And it didn't cost me anything extra.

Sarah sweetie - Loving the updates!! The candellabaras will look stunning!!! I agree that you absolutely must have champagne at a wedding!! :thumbsup2
I hope you have an amazing shower and as for the rain, please take some of ours, as much as you need as we have far too much here in the UK!!!!:goodvibes

Sarah! So glad to see an update! :goodvibes Everything sounds wonderful! Great idea with the candelabras. They will look so elegant! :cool2:

I can't wait to read all about your bridal shower. You will have such a wonderful time!

I love the candelabras!! They are going to look so pretty with the crystals and the blue lighting. I originally wanted candelabras for my centerpieces but I couldn't find any to rent that were within a 100 mile radius. That would have been way to stressful to pull together. If you don't mind I will live vicariously through you. LOL!!!!

I'm sorry I missed your latest update, Sarah! I think the candleabras look LOVELY, and it doesn't look cheap at "all." The candelabras combined with the chiavari chairs will definitely achieve that elegant look you're looking for--- and they're a bit outside of the box too, which I love.

And I'm sorry for all of your stress, and I hope your bridal shower will help with that. <3 <3 I can't wait to hear all about it!

Ok Princess Sarah, we're due an update on the shower and all the other things you need to share! Love Mom! I know you're busy but.....you've been holding out!
