Santa came early!!! Update #11

Our month was set to be so tight it squeaked. We were planning not to give any gifts to each other or anyone else for that matter. Today, Dh got the final paperwork for an on the road project he did for the shipyard. Turns out they owe him $984.20 and they'll cut us a check next week!!!! Yipppeeeee!!! We'll use a couple hundred for gifts/goodies and pay off my car. What a lovely suprise just in time. We really expected to wind up owing them about $100 after they figured his advances vs his actual pay.

Update: A week later we are still waiting for a check. Someone told Dh it could be a late as the first week of next month. They know they owe him money so what's so hard about cutting a check right now?? The guys who did this project as a group were told that if they owed the company money they'd have to pay up by the shutdown on the 23rd (they close christmas to new years). Anyway, this check that was supposed to be in hand Monday is still creeping it's way along the chain of command and from what we hear won't be in hand until sometime between the 23rd and 30th, just a bit too late to do any christmas shopping. I'm just irked because they want the money some of the guys owe them asap but want to take their time paying it out.
