Has anyone taken the Santa Barbara Airbus from Santa Barbara to LAX?

I will be in SB on vacation and then heading down to Disneyland.

Last year I had a rental car and the drive was not too bad, but all my car did was sit in the parking lot at DL. So, I've thought about not getting a car since renting a car at one location and dropping off at another is not cheap.

I also thought while riding the bus, DD and I can just watch a DVD on our portable player and relax. Then, when we get to LAX we can catch the Disneyland Express bus to our hotel and use that to get back to LAX when it's time to leave.

Any thoughts?

If it's more than one person, the airBus is more expensive than renting a car.

Avis is at Santa Barbara airport, or Santa Barbara downtown, and you can return the car to Anaheim on Katella Avenue not far from Disney. With advance notice, Avis will give you a ride to your hotel. We got a car for about $45 while the two-bus option would be , what? $120? Even with $25 for gas and taxes, you're way ahead and have more freedom to see some other things.

P.S. Try AWD Discount code A469100 for this avis rental. This code doesn't always come with unlimited mileage though so read the fine print, I think it does in California so you'd be all set.

Thank you Tracy. I had thought about doing that but wasn't sure how I'd get from Avis to the hotel. It's good to know I might be able to get them to drop me off.

I'm also considering Amtrak. But right now, it sounds like the Airbus is the biggest expense and the biggest hassle so I'm starting to lean away from that.
