Sanford Airport

Everytime we've gone to Disney, we've always flown in to MCO, but this time we are flying in to Sanford. Has anyone flown in to this airport before?

Anything special I should know? How much further from the Disney property is it than MCO? Is it a huge difference?

About 20 minutes further, much smaller, quicker to get car rental, quicker to clear customs, quicker to collect luggage. I preferred it but have not used it once and MCO once

I agree with the PP. but, what you lose in the small mileage distance is offset by the greatly reduced TSA line. Also, much smaller to get to the gates. I would much rather get out of two hr security line for a maybe .30 minute and lose the mile walk to E gates. I was spent after the experience.

Two weeks ago at MCO the lines were crazy getting through security.

You can plan on 45-60 mins. from Sanford to WDW. It is approx. 49 miles from Sanford to WDW.

Agree with everyone above. I was able to find less expensive airfare to there than to MCO (this may vary by airline/airport).

The convenience and ease of this airport was worth its weight in gold to me, despite it being a little further away.
