I checked Simon's book and he says it is "well worth" the extra and also gives a url for a slide show of the Guest House -

Certainly sounds worth it to me :) !

I am flying into Sanford in January and I have booked the guest house as I thought that was a good price if only to keep the kids occupied with the movies and the soft drinks for them.
I have never gone with TCD before but heard lots of good things about them so decided to give the airport lounge a go.

You will find the Guest House possibly the best money you will spend over there. It is a brilliant idea and very well run. I've used it twice now and it is an oasis of comfortable peace and quiet at the end of a busy vacation. Mind you, if everyone finds out about it.................!

I am also travelling with Travelcity next year and rec'd the promotional leaflet, and thinking of booking up
It mentions snacks? Can anyone elaborate - is this crisps/sandwiches etc?
Do they serve hot/cold meals?
Thanks

How else can you book the guest house?
My sis is going in May and wants to book it. Ours was booked through tcd, but she is flying with Britannia.

I used the guest house in early Dec and I agree you will be hard pushed to find better value.
When you go in your given a wrist band which entitles the adults to 2 free alcoholic drinks plus, all the soft drinks you want you also get cookies and cakes. As for entertainment you have a huge screen playing the latestest Dvd,s a bank of internet computers , a room full of playstations , a play room and a room just for relaxing. It was that good I had to drag my 2 DD,s out for boarding
.You can go in and out as much as you likeso you can still do your duty free shopping .You can do what I did and pay when you get there and they will even let you look around to see if you like it so what have you got to loose.Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all that info, it sounds great! I reckon at ten pounds each it is well worth it.:)
Will let my sis know that she can book it there

Thanks again!! :Pinkbounc :) :Pinkbounc

I'm glad I have booked the guest room now.
Any idea how long before your flight can you go in?
We have to be out of our villa in kissimmee by 10o'clock, and our flight back isn't until 7.00pm.

As the Guest house is through passport control as soon as youve gone through there you can go straight in thats what I did.

Im thinking about this too. Is there much to keep a 3 year old occupied?? I will also have my son (9m old) and would prefer a quiet place to settle him before the flight....would it be suitable??

Thanks!
Allie.

There is a small soft-play room for toddlers that will probably do for half an hour or so, plus the cinema is also quite handy. If your 3yo can have a stab at Playstation games, this is also pretty useful.

just to let you know that you do not have to book in advance you can just pay at the check-inn 10 dollers adult ,6 for the kids.but i guess that it might get busy in peak season, and that they will restrict numbers.

We used The Guest House in August last year. We weren't sure whether it would be worth it but thought we'd take a risk. It was an excellent investment! We spent hours in the lounge, watched videos, played computer games... Free tea, coffee and soft drinks - I think they included 2 alcoholic drinks per adult too. It's really worth the money. We're flying to Orlando International this year so will not be able to use this lounge. Does anyone know if a similar facility is available at Orlando?

Sadly, there is nothing similar at MCO. However, you can escape some of the usual airport madness by going up to McCoy's in the Hyatt Hotel. And the newly-revamped shops there are all top quality, too.
