Sanaa and Kids?

It'll be fine. Even if not a window seat you can see animals. And the set up,is such that a kid can go to a window without standing right on top of another family eating at the window seat. There are typical kids meal offerings on the menu so the food won't be an issue for a child. My niece loves the grilled chicken and red grain rice.

I have a 5:30 reservation for May 5th. Just wondering what time I should expect it to get dark. If we wait for a window seat and don't get seated until 6pm or later will there still be enough daylight left through out most or all of our meal. I was thinking it would be light out until at least 8pm?

Sanaa is a fabulous place....service, food, atmosphere. We were lucky enough to get a window table on our date night a few years ago...you really cannot see much. There was a bird or two, and then the feed truck.

I go for the food and service...view is relaxing but not something to clamor for.

And, I would NEVER allow my kids to gawk at the windows next to other diners.

Just keep in mind that there are not many tables by the windows and those that aren't will have virtually no view of the animals. You can, of course, view the animals from the path behind the resort and the balconies off of the lobby area.

As for the food, they have a pretty standard kids' menu so you should be okay. You could also consider going to the buffet at Boma and viewing the animals before/after you eat.

I agree.

Official Susnet time is at 7:45ish which means it will start being too dark to see outside about 7:30pm. I don't know how long they will let you wait for a seat. I suspect if the initial dinner are seated before 5pm they will be in their seats until about 6:30pm(because those with window seats generally take their time and linger over their evening meal) so I don't know if they will have people wait that long for the table they want or simply tell you it is not available. If you are not seated until 6:30 you would have about an hour of light before you would not see anymore.

Thanks for the reply, maybe I will try to bump up the time bit to say 5:45 or 6:00pm. Even if we can't get a window seat it looks like we will still have opportunities to view the animals before and/or after dinner. My DD8 LOVES animals (so much so she refuses to eat them) especially giraffes and it would totally make her the happiest girl alive to check out the animals up close.

Soooo is it frowned upon . . . Maybe I should cut my AK day short and make a 5:00 ressie. Hmmmm

1) I would not say "frowned upon".
2) But, YES, cutting your AK day short might be a good plan, IF animals at dinner are that important to your family.

I'm reviving this thread, because someone stated: by 5:00-5:30 pm all the window seats will be taken - and that it opens at 4:30pm for dinner. But I see an opening time of 5:00pm on the Disney website? Should I trust that time as being the most up to date time?
Thank you!
