Southern California San Diego -Sea World

Thinking of going to Sea World for a day...we have 3 kids (17, 14, 11). We are going in July and thinking of a hotel package to get free dining for the day and front line passes. The cheapest hotel is the Howard Johnson/Sea World location...anyone stayed there? HELP! It doesn't have the greatest reviews...

Are the front of the line passes worth it? Dining pass?
