If we stay in a hotel in hotel circle, what is the best way to get to the Zoo and USS Midway, taxi? I am trying to decide if it is better to stay at the Comfort Inn Gaslight that is within walking distance to all our activities or stay at a less expensive hotel circle hotel and take a taxi wherever we go -or rent a car until we get to Anaheim.

Any insight would be appreciated.

You won't be able to walk to the Zoo from the Comfort Inn. The bus system works quite well. The number 7 bus up Broadway will get you to the Zoo, and the same will get you the Midway the opposite way. The 992 bus can get you from the airport to the Gaslamp area and the Comfort Inn. A day pass for the bus and trolley system is $5/day. There is a bus that goes around Hotel Circle and the Fashion Valley Mall, but it starts at the Old Town Transit Center, which is serviced by the Blue Line trolley.

Oh heavens, Zero is right, the zoo is NOT within walking distance of the Gaslamp!!! I'd probably do taxi just because I don't like waiting for someone else's schedule, especially when the price difference won't be too bad.

From Comfort Inn it would be $12 after tip each way.
