Anybody go to 2 different stylists at the same salon for two different services?

I just "fired" my stylist of the last 15 years (of course, he doesn't know it...I just slunk off and went to a different salon :sunny: ) and had my first cut with a new stylist. I'm happy with the cut. I just found out that a friend of mine who has PERFECT hair color goes to the same salon, but to a different stylist. Would it be tacky for me to go to her stylist for color, but to my new stylist for cuts?

Not at all, but you may pay more to do so. In our salon, the cut is included in the price of coloring. So, it is possible that it will be more expensive in the long run. But worth it if you like the way one colors and the way one cuts. i se nothing wrong with it.

I see nothing wrong with it either BUT sometimes a stylist does. Sometimes they want to do it all, after all, the color service is a lot more $$ than the cut (most of the time) and sometimes a stylist can resent that. As a stylist, I wouldn;t have a problem with it but then again, I LOVE cutting hair and could just do that all day long instead of coloring (I'd love to have a colorist who just did colors all day long while I cut!!)

Good luck!!

I dont think its tacky to go to another stylist in the same salon. I worked my way through college in a salon. We had people from time to time go to different stylist for different services. There were two stylist in the salon who did outstanding colors, far superior to the others in the salon. So I saw lots of clients get their hair done by them, but there cuts and styles by others. I have gone to a salon and had different people do differnt things. As a matter of fact, I have seen 3 people in the salon I go to now. One to do my waxing, one to do my colors, and the third when I need to be squeezed in when I forgot to book ahead. Im honest with all of them since they all know I go there. Just be honest if they ask at the salon. Say you saw your friends color and loved it. Nothing wrong with going to two different stylist, IMO.

BTW - I dont know why you "just slunk off" from your old stylist, but I know from working in a salon, that its nice to be told you are going to someone new and maybe why. If it was something the stylist did, they wont know to improve unless they are told. my $.02.
