Combine milk, egg yolks and lime juice. Blend until smooth. Pour filling into pie crust and bake at 350º for 15 minutes. Allow to stand 10 minutes before refrigerating. Just before serving, top with freshly whipped cream, or meringue, and garnish with lime slices.

those ticket prices are awesome! You go girl!

oh and did i read that you're a dance teacher? I may need you to teach DF and I our first dance!

I LOVE Key Lime Pie! mmmm...... pie! I haven't had pie in so long. But at least I can fit it my dress!

There is nothing lovely about leaving WDW on Valentine's day so it's so great that you get to stay an extra day! And great job on finding cheap tickets! That's soooo great! :goodvibes

AAWW Sam I'm so jealous that you're going to Disney again!
We can't afford to go to DLP this year because of all our saving and it's the first year EVER since it opened it 1992 that we haven't been :guilty: I'm missing it so bad, you lucky, lucky girl
And you're engagement party sounds so lovely I think it's much nicer to have it in the couples home than a hall or whatever. And I'll have to do you a no rain dance for you on that day :rotfl:
And I'm loving you're T.R. what happen in T.T.W.C is too funny I bet his Mum and Dad were real embarrassed! hehe
And I'm glad to hear that the soup in Canada was as good as everyone says Pete really wants to try it.

YAY FOR THE POLY and YAY for extending it past Valentines day!!

I was thinking of surprising vin with a mini-vaca for Valentines up to florida from fri-Monday and have him take off work (All depends on prices of course but we wills ee) so, i may see you there!

I think that sounds fab! Valentines Day is WDW sounds awesome, I can't wait!

Awww i had my e-party on my moms birthday!

People are going tobring you gifts whether or not you want them to. We actually wrote Your presence is our Present on the card but all still brought something...

if you need any help let me know1

I did the same thing and now I have no clue what to expect. I think if anyone brings anything I will just be gracious and say thank you and open it that evening, is that ok sounding? I just don;t want to open anything if some people don;t bring a gift and make anyone feel awkward ya know?

Hi!! I'm a little lurker...far from my DFTW, but in love with weddings! I'm going to school to be a wedding planner! Anywho...just from you BOTH having this experience and how they come out with the bikini top...I think this is maybe a wanted reaction. What do they think anyone would say when they ask what a bikini top is used for? Even though Crush gets all awkward acting, I suspect they do it on purpose, ya know?

Oh and I meant to add that I am way jealous of your whole trip. And I want to do the mission thing especially since my name is Kim!! I would love a Kimmunicator! :woohoo:

Thanks it was a fun trip for sure. The Kim Possible challenge was fun, you should def try it. And a Kimmunicator for Kim is perfect!

Ok I just got all caught up!!! Great TR, made me so jealous I want to go :( You look beautiful in your trial Ana did a great job!!!!

$188!!!!!!! :eek:that is a fantastic price!

Oh I forgot: I love you E-pics they are amazing!!!!!

Thanks Carolina! I was happy with the whole E-Pics/Ana thing too. very simple process too which made me relieved and happy!

But I saw $188 and jumped on it! We don't even have a hotel booked yet lol!

Wow Sam...$188 is amazing! Yay!!:cool1:

Thanks, gotta love kayak.com!

:cheer2:$188 r/t is freakin' awesome!!:cheer2:

And tha's so nice that your parents are throwing you an e-party!! Such a great idea to have it at your place, too ~ especially since you guys enjoy your family's company, having it at your place would be so much more intimate -- gotta love that warm gooey family feeling!!

oh oh oh...and it's so cute that it's also on your dad's b-day, and that you'll make key lime pie!! YOu could totally make it a FLORIDA Key Lime pie -- get it get it? hehehe Disney -- Florida -- Florida Keys -- Key Lime Pie...hahaha (OMG, i LOVE key lime pie, but have no idea how to make it well, tho -- what's your secret? *shameless attempt at wanting your recipe* hahaha).

Haha you crack me up! Of course I will give you the recipe! I want to make the key lime pie disney-fied of course lol!

The recipe is super easy (very similar to the one Amanda posted on here) I use 5 egg yolks, 1 14oz can of condensed milk and 2/3 of a cup of key lime juice, whisk it together and pour into pie crust. I use a pre-made store bought graham cracker crust and bake for 15 mins. Let it cool and pop it in the fridge for a few hours to chill. Thats it! It is the easiest recipe ever!

Hey Sam!

thats so cool you are having an engagement party- you are crazy to have it in your house tho girl haha!! no, it will be great relaxing and having fun in your own home!

(i always think, if we throw parties in our house, its like omg the mess afterwards and you have to clean it all up, but i think the plus sides to it is that you can throw everyone out when youve had enough and you can go to bed when ya want haha!)

It'll be really good- and its even better because of saving the $$$'s you would have to pay for a hall, it would save you on food and drink too! Plusssss its your Dads birthday so its one big party in one- which is great!

I dont know anything about bringing presents- although if i went to a engagement party i would take a present of some kind even if they didnt mention anything (even something small like a bottle of champagne for the couple). I hate opening gifts in front of everyone so if people do bring you something then i would just thank them and say you are going to open it later alone together (and then i guess i would just send a thank you out to them after the party? i dont know) hehe!

Its wierd- over here in the UK showers are not really that popular- i would love to have all these showers i hear you guys talking about with all the gifts and that hehe - only because i loveee buying gifts for people! hehe!!

haha, you always make me laugh Stace! I didn't realize you didn't have showers or anything like that in the UK. And ITA I love buying gifts too, I actually have a stack of boxes from Macy's registry for all my friends upcoming showers. I bought them all at once so I wouldn't have to worry about it later.. now I just have to give the right gift to the right friend lol (they are all wrapped the same from macys lol):rotfl2:

I think the party will be nice and relaxed (at least I hope) we decided to only invite family (and the few friends in the wedding) so my mom is taking charge and organizing it all. But I sure will be helping her out as much as I can thats for sure!

ooh by the way...

this key lime pie you keep talking about.... it sounds strange ..

Lime ... pie?

...but interesting and yummy. I think i may need to find a recipe for it and have a go at making one!.. hehe!!

I posted it for Veronica, steal away! And if you can't find Key Lime Juice, regular lime juice works well too... It is sort of like a lemon merangue pie or a custard pie in texture, but ti tastes very limey and refreshing:thumbsup2

My recipe is from the Old Key West reosrt in WDW, it's in my Mickey cookbook... is it bad that they only cookbook I use has a mouse on it:lmao:

MMMMMmmmm i quite fancy eating that right now!!

Well its a definate dessert i have to make!

Yes, you will love it:cool1:

I was pretty shocked when I saw the price so I just had to book it. If I had waited it would have gone up and I would have been kicking myself! We are going to stay at the Yacht Club before the wedding and the Poly after the wedding. (My) Dave (lol) decided that he loved the Poly on our trip (which I happily agreed to!) so we will do those 2 resorts (assuming $$ allows...)

My mom just kind of came out with the idea and DF and I are pretty laid back so we went along with it and figured it would be a nice housewarming too since we just moved into our new house the week before we got engaged so our families haven't really seen the new house yet eithier... now I just have to finish painting the bathroom lol! Thats all we have left to do thank goodness!

those ticket prices are awesome! You go girl!

oh and did i read that you're a dance teacher? I may need you to teach DF and I our first dance!

Thanks! And anytime you want a lesson just let me know, I have a studio in Concord MA that i teach at, and I would happily help you guys out:) What type of song are you thinking of doing? Are you doing a formal dance like a waltz?

I LOVE Key Lime Pie! mmmm...... pie! I haven't had pie in so long. But at least I can fit it my dress!

There is nothing lovely about leaving WDW on Valentine's day so it's so great that you get to stay an extra day! And great job on finding cheap tickets! That's soooo great! :goodvibes

I bet my dress will be a little tight after this weekend lol! I had a whole chocolate bunny yesterday ! Guess I won't be trying it on just yet...

AAWW Sam I'm so jealous that you're going to Disney again!

Aww Scarlet, we have been lucky with good deals the last few trips which has made it possible but we are definitly going to be in savings mode till the wedding (the trip with my family was already booked before we even got engaged). But just think of how awesome your wedding and honeymoon will be in WDW, and it is soooooo soon!!! Less then 6 months, you must be sooo excited!:goodvibes
I am happy my mom is doing it, she loves planning parties and she is very excited about it. I thikn it will also give us a great excuse to spend some extra time together too, with work it gets so tough for us to seeeach other more then a few times a week so this will be nice:goodvibes
We def had some funny moments at WDW but that one at TTwC took the cake lol!

Day 2 Part 3… the world is safe so let’s go see some baseball!

Now this part of the TR I am warning you all does not have any pictures… I know horrible of me but I honestly just forgot at this point lol!

So when we last spoke DF and I were being rolled out of Le Celier after a filling lunch. I look at DF and just tell him to come with me. I proceed to lead him to the ticket booth at the Wide World of Sports complex, pick up our tickets to the Red Sox game for that afternoon and look at his face. He was shocked! He couldn’t believe I got tickets for us! So we make our way to the seats and settle in for a nice afternoon at the ball field. Now for those of you who have never seen a game at WWoS it is a lot of fun, and a very nice stadium… think of a regular ballpark, now eliminate the sticky floors and clean it to Disney standards… that is WWoS in a nutshell!

So after sitting in the sun for a few hours we decided to head back to the hotel for a bit, we didn’t end up making it through the game though. I think the heavy cheese/steak/burger lunches then 2+ hours in the sun were a poor choice back to back lol! So by the end we were ready for a quick rest before the evening’s events. So a quick trip to the POP, a rest, a dip in the pool to stretch our legs and we were back on track. Now for those of you considering the POP there was only one thing I was not too happy about while we were there… no hot tub by the pool. If POP had this I would have been super happy, otherwise I thought the pool was nice, clean (yes crowded but come on its Disney!) and pretty warm… not hot tub warm… but not too bad overall.

Dave and I had an ADR at Ohana for dinner tonight at 9:30 (post fireworks on the beach). At this point it was about 5:30 and we figured we could head to the MK for a few hours before going to the Poly. So we hop a bus for MK and again it arrives promptly and efficiently (yay buses!) and get to the happiest park in about 15 minutes. We head through the gate and decide to take it slow… so we stop and see our buddy Pinocchio and take a quick pic, and I get a little peck on the cheek from Pinocchio too, this was a theme on this trip I think… I have never gotten more kisses from characters before, by the end it was really funny because Dave and I would just sort of expect it lol! Oh yea and Dave got kisses from the female characters too which was kind of funny! After our Pinocchio meet and greet we head up Main Street and of course I tear up a bit at the sight of the castle. Dave said he wants to go back to the wishing well where he proposed just 4 months ago and see it during the day. I happily agree to this and get my camera ready for tons of pics to show my mom (and of course the other DisBrides who have gotten engaged here). Here are a few of the wishing well and us in front of it. I love all the details on the well, the birds around the base and the iron work at the top.

P1000528.jpg

Dave checking to see if anyone else threw in quarters (see our E-Story for joke)

P1000529.jpg

P1000530.jpg

P1000533.jpg

P1000534.jpg

P1000535.jpg

P1000537.jpg

P1000538.jpg

P1000539.jpg

And one of us in front of the castle for good karma...

P1000540.jpg

So after brief quiet moment of reminiscing and just sitting together on the bench by the well and looking at the castle we realize we are in the MK and haven’t ridden on the Haunted Mansion or Pirates yet (shock, gasp!) So we head off to Liberty Square to correct this grave (no pun intended) injustice. Another hitchhiking ghost followed us home again this time… I bet we have like 70 of those guys accumulated over the year’s lol! So we bring Morty (that is what we named our ghost this time) and walk to Froniterland and check out the wait for BTMRR, 10 minutes, so we hop in line and I remember that the last time I was on this ride we had just gotten engaged so again I got a little misty eyed (I am a crier, and this trip it gets worse lol).
After BTMRR (Dave’s Fave BTW) we head over to Adventure Land for... Yup you guessed it, Dole Whip Time! The only food porn I have on this whole trip… get ready for it!

P1000524.jpg

Now my weirdo fiance doesn't eat any sweets... not even wedding cake... but he loves a dole whip in WDW! That is the power of the Dole Whip:lmao:

P1000523.jpg

Are you hungry yet?

P1000525.jpg

After our fabulous snack we decide it’s time for Pirates and the Enchanted Tiki Room (I figured it would get us ready for the Poly lol), we ride em both and check the time, it is 7:50 so we decide to leave before we get trapped in parade traffic and go to the Poly a grab a drink. A quick monorail ride and we are relaxing on the beach at the Poly with a Captains Mai Tai in hand… this drink is amazing btw, I guess it is served all over WDW but somehow the feel of the beach sand between my toes made it taste even sweeter. So we settle in for some time on the beach eagerly awaiting the fireworks and electrical water pageant.

Dave had never been to the Poly and little did I know at the time how much he loved it… that boy played it cool! I have always loved the Poly and thought it would be a great post wedding place to stay, but figured DF would not want to try it out (why I thought this I have no idea, but now I know not to Assume… you know what happens when you assume…). We had a great conversation just sitting and waiting for everything to start, pointing things out to each other and just enjoying our “couple time”.

The Electrical water pageant started first and after a few minutes Dave looked at me and said “what happens next?” I guess I had built up the pageant to be some really cool Disney thing so he was expecting a bit more then floats that light up… oh well! I can see his point though, and I mean no offense to anyone who has a place in their heart for this show, but it is a bit dated. We both did like the random “Salute to America” ending though. All of a sudden it was like you were no longer chilling under the sea with all the sea animals and fish, you were at the 4th of July parade lol! As a patriotic couple we appreciated it, but it totally comes out of left field, you gotta love it! The fireworks stared a few minutes into the EWP so we had a nice view of both going on at the same time. After that we went inside, checked in at the podium and waited to be buzzed in.

After about 10 minutes we get buzzed and head to our table. It is a bigger table since it is the end of the night and we have some room to spread out which is nice. Now I know everyone has read the Ohana reviews and I will agree the food is great, DF’s fave of the whole trip in fact! The food was all prepared very well and served nice and hot. Our waitress went a little MIA during our meal though, but we were actually a bit tired at this point so it wasn’t too big a deal. Dave said we have to go back here every trip from now on and I have to agree. The food was awesome! In August when we come with my family we are going to bring them here for dinner one night for sure. So dinner was over, and it was time to try that world famous dessert I had heard about yum! Our MIA waitress actually turned very helpful at this point and even brought us a yummy yellow cupcake with a candle in it along with our dessert (yay just engaged buttons:yay:). I had to bring it with us though because I was just wayyyy too full at this point lol! So we ended the night with quick transfer to DTD and back to the POP where we once again collapsed into bed for a restful nights sleep.

I will leave you there but give you this teaser… Day 3 was by far the coolest day… awesome surprises in store so stay tuned!:rolleyes1

awwwww Sammmm!!

Your TR is making me so happy! (surprising as i thought it would make me sad because of being home)

I agree with you when you see the castle for the first time- it DOES make you want to cry with happiness!! I always get a little overwhelmed whenever i see the castle!

Its so cute that Dave loves Dole Whip (you made me laugh when you wrote ''now my wierdo Fiance doesnt eat sweets, not even wedding cake but he loves a Dole Whip'' you can forgive him for not liking sweets because of the dole whip eh!!? hehe!) Its sooo yummy, infact, just talking about it makes my mouth water.. mmm soooo creamy!! i only had one this year how bad am i!!??? bash in the head for stacey ay? :scared:

I love those photos of the wishing well - i really wanted to go see it this time but for some unknown reason we never got round to it and i cant remember why because we talked about going to see it when we arrived in the morning .. strange! hehe! I bet it brought back so many happy memories of that day aw- i'd get pretty emotional too seeing it again!

I love the haunted mansion.. i once - dont laugh, in 2007- i went through that whole ride with my eyes closed. I dont even remember why.. im such a scardy cat-(well that Dinosaur ride is terryfing in AK and that is what i am afriad of now!) but now i absolutely love it- how on earth do they make them ghosts .. and the way they dance???

I wish we kept our just engaged badges on a lot more too- i mean, im not complaining i only got a huge choc fudge ice cream to share ..but i didnt realise you could get so much more than that with the badges on -i should have worn them in the Sci Fi restruant so that darn lady understood that we celebrating! heh!! Its so cool with the treats you have already got and youve only posted day 2- i cant imagine how many more treats you got because of the badges!?:thumbsup2

Again, im so loving your TR... happy happy happy times!!

I know you have only just posted the day 2 part 3 but i am eagerly awaiting the next chapter!! popcorn::

So bizzare. Our DF's must have been drinking the same "Poly-lovin'" water, because Chris came out of left field with the whole "I love the Poly" thing too. Boys :confused3

Great TR! Plus YAY for cheap airfare. I'm jealous. Living in the stix, airfare isn't even available yet for the 2 airlines that acutally fly direct to MCO. I have to wait like 3 more months  But YAY for you!!

so not fair to show those pictures of the dole whip....couldnt mickey have sent us some magically? lolol

hehe!!

dole whip is the one thing you cant pack in your suitcase when its one of the things you want to take home the MOST!!!

I was thinking on our flight home from Orlando actually... which was a proper stacey moaning session and totally random at the time- but relevant now (i actually forgot of this whole conversation i had with a not insterested-i-am-trying-to-sleep-on-night-flight-your-boring-conversation-need-to-sleep wayne! hehe!)

...I was moaning about what food stuffs i had missed out on in the whole last week of me being ill.. hahah!! (i planned what i wanted to eat basically throughout the holiday! like i needed to have at least 3 choc chip cookies from starring rolls cafe in DHS.. at least 1 slushee at simpsons ride in universal... at least 4 mickey mouse shaped mallow rice cakes...hah wierd i know) but im a food monster!

....So yeah, i was thinking how it would be possible to get such things like a dole whip sold worldwide.. and i was thinking even though i hate mc donalds but, why dont a chain like mcdonalds that is world wide- link up with the man at disney who created dole whips and come up with a mega bucks plan to get it sold worldwide!? or any company like KFC ect.. that is world wide and could sell it everywhere .. i mean, i know its not the same at having it at Disney.. but come on, we all love little fixes like a dole whip?

i know it will never happen but its nice to think it 'could' happen in an ideal world!! :rotfl:

Speaking of Dole Whips, this was me yesterday:

2854_624114302786_1514184_38898667_2980766_n.jpg

Yesterday was Jeff's birthday and he always rents a water sprite/ sea raycer/ boat thing at the Poly and afterwards we were going to get Dole Whips. I was all excited after roasting out on the boat and we go to order lunch and I get my Grown Up Grilled Cheese (yummmm) and then as we are about to wrap up placing the order I shout "Dole Whip! Dole Whip! don't press total until we add a Dole Whip!" so we go to the page on the screen for extras and the little Dole Whip icon is grayed out and says 'not available' and I look over at the machine and  Sooo not fair :sad1:

Glad I am helping with your Disney Blues then Stace! I actually found a website that sells Dole whip Mix from Hawaii (where they have the dole plantation) and I had a 5lb bag shipped to me at home. You can make it in small batches in a regular ice cream maker:goodvibes! I do it alot in the summer when it gets unbearable here! And yes I forgive him for the whole "weirdo not eating sweets fiance" thing because of dole whips lol!:rotfl2:
Oh and dinosaur is the scariest ride, I still scream the whole way through :scared1:

It must have been something in those fruity drinks... it was totally bizarre too, I thought he would be all "the Poly is too conventional" but he was gung-ho for the Poly. Weird Boys... not that I am complaining mind you:lmao:
We do luck out with airfare since we are close to Boston from time to time, but other times it is all sold out before we have even booked:eek: so I guess it is tough eithier way. Yay for Poly!

I want wayne to catch this POLY bug... :goodvibes

all he has to do is have one of the tropical drinks there... at least that is the rumor I am starting lol!

so not fair to show those pictures of the dole whip....couldnt mickey have sent us some magically? lolol

Do you have an ice cream maker? You can get the mix online:goodvibes... or just stop by my house:cool1:

Dole Whip! don't press total until we add a Dole Whip!" so we go to the page on the screen for extras and the little Dole Whip icon is grayed out and says 'not available' and I look over at the machine and  Sooo not fair :sad1:

That is the saddest photo ever... I am sorry Jeff's birthday dessert did not turn out as well as expected. Tell him I will buy him one next time we are in Orlando... wouldn't it be awesome if we had a dole whip machine instead of a wedding cake! I'll even put a little mickey/minnie cake topper on top of it!

Love the Dole Whips!! You guys are so cute.

Ohana is a must every trip. Glad you guys loved it!

This is so fun to read- you two are so cute!! We LOVE the poly. We stayed there on our first trip, and when the pageant went by we didn't know what it was- it was so funny! And I know about getting misty, I swear I'm in tears at every parade at disney with the music going, it's all just so emotional, and I can't even imagine if I was engaged there! I just think about my kids and then the tears come! Heck, I cry half the time with disney music in the car, LOL! And I don't know what will happen next trip, between being DVC members now and doing the vow renewal... Good thing for waterproof mascara is all I can say!!

Looking forward to reading more:)
