Up Next Day 3 Part 2
Pre-Parade Jitters!
So Dave and I had just been asked (in my opinion) the most awesome question at the Magic Kingdom and we were ready to hit the park! We took our usual route and went left towards adventure land. Now I should probably tell you that Daves dream job is to be a driver on the Jungle Cruise
oh that boy! So of course we had to ride that first
the whole time I was bouncing around in line because the excitement had not warn off. We had a successful cruise through the jungle and made it back in one piece about 10 minuets later. Not bad for cruising to the
Amazon and the Nile river, and back lol.
We decided that since we had gone on a few rides the day before we would take it easy today... Well easy for us did not turn out as planned. We followed the lets do what we feel plan which we did not realize involved crossing the park an estimated 15 times during the day
we were all over the place. This is the last time I will do this way of touring because as relaxing as it was by the time we were scheduled to be in the parade we were so happy to be able to sit still for a half hour or so! by the way this is a picture Dave took to remember how excited I was that morning
And here I am with my favorite sign in the MK, Dave calls me his little Nugget (strange pet name I know, but hey it works for us) so it is very appropriate
During the morning we rode BTMRR. Splash Mountain, got a fastpass for BTMRR for an hour away, got our 1st Dole Whip of the day, and did a little shopping. Now, getting packages delivered to your hotel is so easy, the downside is that you forget how much you bought because you are not carrying it all day, which in turn makes you forget how much $$ you have spent
good system Disney, very tricky. So around 10:30 we decided to do a little shopping in the Christmas store in Liberty Square. I love Christmas (yes even in the springtime) and we found out how un-crowded this place is during the day. It was wonderful being able to look around without swarms of people around you. While I find a cute ornament for our tree (I try to get one on each trip) I see Dave talking to the ladies who work in the shop. There was a little circle around him so I wander over and see what is going on. The ladies all saw his Just Engaged Button and started doing the girly thing, asking how he did it, was she surprised, where did he propose, how long we had been together
you know usual girl talk. Daves head actually began to spin at this point
He looked a bit relieved that I joined him because they all started asking me the questions that made my poor DFs head spin. Which being a girl I happily began to answer. We did the whole looking at the ring thing, and we got the Awwwws when I said he proposed by the wishing well. Also the lone gentleman CM at the shop came over and gets in on the conversation as well. So after chatting with them for a few more minuets we head over to the register to pay and right as we are leaving we say goodbye to our new friends who all yell Noooo, you cant leave yet! So we stop and one of the ladies runs over and says We made you something! They had made us a Mickey Ornament that they had written Just Engaged WDW on for us! It was really sweet and they all said they will be stopping by our wedding next year too lol! They sent it back to our hotel with the ornament I had bought (and they also wrote the date on the one I bought for free too). It was so nice and they said that on our trip in August we had to stop in and say hello to them! We will be doing that for sure, they were all so nice and made a special day even specialer (is that a word?)
At this point of the morning I am not even walking anymore, I am simply floating around the MK on

cloud 9! But we realize that it is 11am and we are starving! Caseys it is!

We order some corn dog nuggets, fries and a drink, and sit and watch a few old cartoons while we snack While sitting and eating lunch I look at Dave and notice that in the sunny FL weather he has taken off his jacket that he had on that morning
and he had on a shirt that he found randomly one day listing a pub crawl he once did in his wild and crazy youth lol! It said Grab the Crew, Drink some Brew, Stay out Late, Bring Home a Date
I am surprised that I let him out wearing something like that in WDW. At home is one thing, but this is Disney! I must have been so tired that morning I didnt even notice (and he admitted he didnt either, he just grabbed a shirt in his coma like state that morning hee hee) So I went into the shop connected to Caseys and picked up a Mickey Tee for him to wear in the parade that day
how convenient that we were somewhere with unlimited souvenirs at our fingertips lol! Since then he has been wearing his Mickey shirt quiet a bit I might add
So we finish our lunch/mid morning snack and head over to Tomorrow Land. We grab a fastpass for Space Mountain and then hit up Buzz (10 min wait), Monsters Inc (5 min wait), the TTA (no wait) and the Carousel of Progress (no wait)! Gotta love the mornings at WDW! At this point it is around 12:30 and we decide to head back over to Frontier Land and use our Fastpass we got earlier for BTMRR. On the way we stop and ride the Haunted mansion again and the finally hit up BTMRR. The way our fastpasses were issued that morning was very convenient because we were able to have a few at a time with the 2 hour thing and the time of the ticket itself. So we also picked up another FP for Splash later in the day (it was very busy at this point and the wait times for those 2 were long
like 80 minuets long). Since it is 1:45 by now and we only have hour before we meet up with Dean again we grab one more Dole Whip Float, and head to Main Street to do a little window shopping (which actually turned into regular shopping
darn Disney and their tricks!) I saw the greatest stuff in the art of
Disney store (or whatever it is called at MK) and picked out all the things I would get if I hit the megabucks!
In the Emporium I figured I would buy a few things that I had eyed earlier in the trip and have them shipped to the POP rather then wait until that last day and fumble with packages in DTD. I got 2 stemless wine glasses (Dave always complains that my wine glass with a stem blocks his TV view when he is laying on the couch lol) and matching Ts for my mum and I
back-story to this
when I was a kid my folks took my to WDW and we went on Mr Toads Wild Ride at the MK, now for some reason this ride scared the pants off me as a child! (Maybe it was the whole you follow Mr Toad to hell part of it
anywho

) so if I ever acted up after that trip my mom would say Samantha you better behave or we will make you go on Mr Toad when we go to Walt Disney World!

This worked like a charm because I NEVER acted up after hearing that! So back to present day, I found a Tee in the Vintage Magic Kingdom collection of Ts with Mr Toads Wild Ride on it! So I had to get them for us, it was too perfect to pass up! I also got a photo album for pics of the trip and bamboo Mickey cutting board. So I head up to pay and get offered the gift with purchase they are doing
I am not strong enough to pass these up
I am the sucker that they market these for
so I buy the $10 Mickey watch for Dave and one for me too
I have no willpower.
I check my phone (why I didnt just ask to wear the watch is beyond me at this point

) and see it is 2:35!!! Yippee!!! So we walk over to the Firehouse and wait for Dean. He arrives a few minutes after we do and tells us to use the restroom now because once we go backstage we wont have another chance. He tells us we are going to be riding with another family from Chicago that day and we have to wait for them to arrive as well. They get there and Dean opens up a bag and hands us each a set or personalized Mickey Ears and certificates saying we were the Grand Marshals that day
he also had a special one made for me that said The future Mrs. English on it which I thought was so cute!
Dean tells us that no pictures are allowed backstage and he will take a close up of us in the car but that is all he can do. I was just so happy I could have started dancing right then and there! So we head backstage and see it
Mickeys Limo
our ride for the day
now I was a good Disney bride and asked if Dave and I could use it for our Wedding instead of the Carriage, Dean laughed and said Well I bet you could, no one has even done that before! I laughed and made a mental note to save up a ton of money for it lol!
The limo itself was very cool, all white with big colorful Mickey balloons on it and 2 rows of blue leather seats (which got very hot during the parade btw). It is an open top limo so they were al ittle warm when we sat down too. Dean then showed us a secret that not many people get to see on the limo
the treads on the tires
they are custom Mickey heads!
I want those for my car! All the details on this car just blew my mind, it was awesome. So we settle into the car and are given our streamers to wave and told our job for the day
smile and wave
that was it
just have fun, heck I was already doing that and I figured this would be a good chance to practice my princess wave before the wedding lol. Dave said that "You are the only person I would ever wave a streamer for" and (a bit grudgingly) held his streamer proud for the whole parade! (He also said he was glad none of his friends could see him waving a streamer)
So we are getting ready to go, Dean snapped a quick pic of Dave and I (and one of the tires) and he says Ok be very quiet and listen They announce that the parade will be starting in just a moment, and that the Grand Marshals today are the ? Family from Chicago Illinois celebrating their 1st visit, and Samantha Lee and David English celebrating their engagement here at the Magic Kingdom from Newton Massachusetts! Dean said we would hear it again during the parade but we might not hear it that well again. So streamers in hand, smiles on, Ears in place we were ready to go. Then, the gates opened
Up next The Parade Itself!
