Samantha and Wes's Magical Disney Escape 08.09.10 - Last thoughts about our Trip!

I also kind of chuckled about your "overplanning"...I have a master spreadsheet with things like guest list, budget, and wish list stuff, along with $$ spent so far (although I think i might eliminate this cause i'm not sure I really want to know what the extras add up to)... separate from that I have my DVC spreadsheet which outlines about 18 different possible combinations of points/trips going out to 2013....PLUS I have color coded schedules made in word (in waltograph font) for myself, my sister's family, my mom, and 2 of my friends that are coming...:rotfl:

So...um...I understand every inch of the OCD planning :)

 I think I love you! That is about where I am, I have a colour coded budget spreadsheet with pie chart :scared1: a master plan for each day and a separate spreadsheet with all of our ADR numbers, a shopping list for Wal-Mart for the items we can't fly, a spreadsheet with park hours and EMH... yeah and then there are the ways to budget for DVC, the trips to Disneyland and the cruises I have planned.

Airfare is booked!!:woohoo: Credit card debt has doubled:scared1::eek:

Other than that not much to report.

On the Sunday before the rehearsal dinner the boys are going golfing in the morning so I was considering booking tea at the GF for all the girls... I might just book it now if I can and then talk to my mom about it when they are out next weekend.

I am so ready for school to be over and to get to Disney... I really just want it to be summer!

So my dress for the rehearsal dinner came in the mail yesterday. It's really cute and it fits so I'm happy. I'd never heard of the store before so I'm glad it was painless (and unders $40 you can't beat that!)

Awesome! Glad you have it and it fits well! Congrats!!

I booked all of the ladies for the first tea of the afternoon at the GF for the day of the rehearsal dinner. I don't think we're going to order very much food as I booked dinner at 6 that evening so that I could be in bed early for the 8am hair and makeup appointment for the wedding day. Plus I'm in mountain time so that's 6am my time (ouch!) so I wanted to try to have sleep the night before.

I mainly booked it as I want to have some things planned in case I can't figure out what to talk to FMIL about while hanging with my mom and sister. They boys will be fine as they're golfing which gives them something to talk about. Plus DF likes my dad, I don't really know his mom.

I talked to Rosie today and sent her the pictures I have as inspiration for the memorial chair. I am just using the calla lily bouquet for myself so not too much to really plan their, except that the burgundy colour of the flowers has to be more red than purple as my dress has red in it. For the memorial chair we're having a single large calla lily with some banana leaves tied with a red ribbon the same colour as the red in my dress, and I know it will be the same red as when I said that the red in my dress was Alfred Angelo's claret Rosie said she had the Alfred Angelo samples so she can match it exactly :thumbsup2

The one thing we added to my bouquet was rather than have just ivory ribbon wrapped around the stems to weave a red ribbon in as well so that it looks like corset laces. I LOVE this idea as the one thing I would change about my dress is that I always wanted a corset back on my dress :goodvibes I love corsets, so now at least my flowers will have a corset look to them.

The girls tea sounds good and a great time with FMIL. I get on well with my mine but we don't get to see each other very much as they live in Florida and we live in Arlington, Virginia. But we talk on the phone and get on Skype. I too have to think up something for the day before the wedding as the men are going to play golf like yours. I'll work that out once I get most of the big stuff done for the wedding.

I love the idea of the red intertwined red ribbon to match your dress on your bouquet.

The cala lilly tributes on a memorial chair will be lovely. I have to decide on if I want a tribute/memorial for my parents at the service. I'm not sure the flowers on a memorial chair will be as effective at the Wedding Pavillion with the benches. I have seen an engraved glass candle cylinder and then I could keep that afterwards for times I want to pay a tribute to them. The pictures I have seen have it on a column with flowers at the wedding pavillion off to the side of the altar table. I'll discuss with my coordinator.

I am in awe of your ADR's :woohoo:

Have you decided on the music for day yet?

I have decided on the music but I'm at work and don't remember everything I have planned. I know I'm coming in to Beauty and the Beast, my sister (MOH) is walking in to A Whole New World, I can't remember the rest exept that the first dance is going to be Kiss the Girl from the Little Mermaid :)

Girls tea will be so much fun! I would love to do this if budget allows. Yay for your dress coming in and for booking your airfare. Everything is coming along great! Just noticed how close you are getting!

Soo with some help from DF's parents for our (rather long) stay at Pop we have decided to upgrade to the Coranodo Springs with a king bed :yay:

The ribbons on the bouquet sound just lovely. And yay for an upgrade! Pop is a nice hotel, but it's definitely NOT romantic, considering all the pizza boxes/ beer bottles we would see lining up the walkways outside rooms.

We will! We have so many nights we have absolutely no excuse not to!

Tickers.

Just caught up popcorn::

You rehearsal dress is so cute! I love it when things I order online fit really well, returning can be such a hassle! The Girls' tea reservation is SUCH a good idea. I would love to do this...hmm maybe I'll look into it now

Oh and congrats on upgrading to Coronado Springs! That was our other choice, it's a beautiful resort!

I am really lookig forward to everything we have planned for the GF and the other resorts as I have done the parks before (and obviously enjoyed them) but we have never really explored the resorts so I'm really looking forward to the YC and AKL and the GF and Poly we have breakfast there one morning :)

Congratz on the upgrade....the last few trips I made to POP, although I LOVE the place, I requested a king sized bed....was told "no problem" and then checked in to find that there were none available....for some reason as I get a bit older I start to appreciate a queen or king sized bed soooooo much more!

My mom and I debated long and hard on which moderates to try last year before and after our cruise, we decided on CBR instead of CS, but I have always wanted to check out CS...the photos online are great! Make sure you "stop and smell the roses", and enjoy the grounds!

They just released new AP discounts for Summer Nightastic! We were able to get a 40% discount for our stay at the YC (instead of 35%) and 35% off of our first (as we had to split the reservation to get the original discount) reservation at CS. I tried to apply it to the second reservation as well but it wasn;t working but the CM that I spoke to said we already had 35% off of the second reservation at CS so

:rotfl:

I also called Victoria and Albert's today as I had seen so many posts about the Glass Slipper Sorbet at the Grand Floridian events. I asked if they would be able to do this at the restaurant and I was told they would ask about it as they usually come from banquets but that it could be possible. :cool1:
