We have always bought our Disney gift cards at Sam’s for our trips. We went yesterday to buy them for our upcoming trip. We had $5,000 worth, mainly in denominations of $25 cards, since they are the best deal overall. Takes forever to combine them but I don’t mind doing it. Got to the register and we were told that we could only get $500 worth. They asked us if we were buying them for a business.
Nope, just to pay the big bill at Disney. I’m not sure if the limit is $500 per day, per month, or what. I just called them a few minutes ago and asked if we brought cash to buy them with if we could get more than $500 worth and was told no. Doesn’t matter how we buy them…only $500. I forgot to ask what the time limit was. Tried calling back and didn't get an answer.
Went online last night and they have a limit of two of each type of card so we can get more than $500 worth but not the biggest discount. We were able to order 2 three packs of the $25 cards and 2 three packs of the $25 Christmas gift cards (since they were still in stock and were different than the regular cards. So, that was $300 so far. Went on just now to order more, in case that is just a daily thing, and it won’t let me order anymore. It says we can only order two of each “for a time”. Doesn’t say what that time limit is. I do understand that businesses have to protect themselves but this is a bit frustrating. Good thing we started several weeks early to get our gift cards together.
Looking for better deals.
