Sam’s Club Disney Cards-$500 limit

if you are looking at long term planning then you can sign up for text alerts with target and be notified when they do their once per year 10% discount up to a max of $500 on gift cards. this does NOT stack on stop of the red card discount but it's available to anyone who signs up for the free target circle loyalty program. a person could conceivably sign up for loyalty under their own name, have their spouse do it under theirs and walk away each year with $100 off on $1000 PLUS any rewards an individual credit card offers to purchase them with (since the sale is generally in december many credit cards like the very no frills one i have offer double rewards so in my case it could result in another 6% cash back).
I believe that sale is only on Target gift cards, not 3rd party. And, you can't use a target gift card to buy a 3rd party card.

That said, it is a great sale! I use it to buy teacher holiday gifts every year.

bummer! well then i would do what i do with these kind of deals on store cards already-buy the max and use it as i would normally use my debit card for my grocery shopping but put the dollar amount i spend (not the discounted amount i paid for the gift card) into a side savings account so i would still recognize a 10% savings margin (and this can be maximized further if you wait until target has a sale on specific items like cleaning and paper products where they give you a $10 gift card if you spend a pretty minimal amount which is generally on top of a pretty good sale price-i do quarterly purchases on these and break them into as many as 5 separate purchases so that nets another $50 that could get shifted from grocery budget to vacation).

We had the same issue. They just don't want you to purchase over the "limit" which is $1000 at our store per day (you didn't hear it from me, but if you have a different Sam's Club you can go to you can also spend up to the limit there as well in the same day). We had to spread our $6000 purchase over a few days, but we were finally able to get all of them.

The cashier was also surprised because I had it all in cash and it should have been fine, but that has been a blanket policy that has came down because of credit card fraud.

Their best deal is $150 for $144.98. You are better off buying from Target
Totally agree. Sam's has had that great (though limited) Xmas promo but if buying them throughout the year. Sam's is definitely not 5% like Target is. That is always my go-to after Sam's or BJ's special Xmas promo.

Which made no sense to me. We were using our Amex (for points) when they told us that we could only get $1000. Told them we could use our Sam’s credit card since they could check to make sure we were good for it. They still said no. We then asked if we could buy all that we needed if we went and got cash. Still a no. We just didn’t get it. And we could come back every day to buy $1000. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We ended up going by every time we were close and getting $1000 with our Amex to get the points. It didn’t take long as we are by there a couple of times a week. You can even buy them at the self serve registers. I even got one extra $25 gc one time just to see if it would kick it out. It didn’t…so the registers aren’t set up to stop you from getting more than $1000 worth. I wanted to try to continue just to see how much it would let us get but my husband was afraid it would alert them and then we would have to face the same people who had told us that there was a limit. 🤣

We just bought Disney gift cards at Sams two weeks ago, I got $1200 worth of cards in $200 increments and had no problem. I used self check out and we just used the cards last week at the parks and all was good. My store might not have a limit or I may have somehow gotten around the limit with self check out, but either way I was able to get my cards.
