:yay::yay::woohoo::woohoo:party::dancer:party: :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Thank you all again for your great support! :grouphug:

This is F*A*N*T*A*S*T*I*C news! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I am adding your dates to the list! :goodvibes

Thank you very much! :thumbsup2

Our trip is coming up QUICK.

Starting to do the "aquiring" of essential supplies: Sunscreen, aloe, that kinda stuff....

We'll be packing before we know it!

Yay for that! Have a great time!

To me it's my last holiday - weekend : on Monday we teachers have to be back in service : :headache: planning - arguing - BORING ... !!!My new pupils will be at school only on September 12 or 13 ( principal hasn't decided yet !) and only then ... I'll be happy !!! Fun and sweet they are !!! and we always have such a great time together !!!
This year the new group is small : only 16 kids !! :teacher:

Off to enjoy my last FREE hours with some jogging and a well deserved Italian ice-cream !!! laura

Enjoy your last weekend of relaxing!

I have to go back to teaching on Tuesday so this is my last "free" weekend too. Let's enjoy it while we can (although I am envious of your small group size). This year I am starting out with 18 classes (112 students) and 20 private students. I am going to need that vacation in October!

Enjoy your weekend!! :goodvibes

Wow! Where do you teach? For some reason I pictured you with a studio in your home. It sounds like you're at a University and you have to put up with all the wind, string & percussion players learning piano as their second instrument in addition to the real piano players!

Morning Jamborini's and Kidanites!! Well - it's raining............ LOL - I just hope it starts to move a little faster - they say Nola could get up to 20 inches of rain, and we could get close to 10............... YIKES :scared1:

Hope everyone else has a great weekend!!!! :goodvibes

Stay dry! I think that's more rain than we get in an entire year! :scared1:

Hello All!

We just booked two nights at the Concierge Level at the AKL. The cost for 2 nights is $672.74. Did we get a decent rate? lol It's a Savana room.

Also, how does everyone like the CL rooms at the wonder AKL? Is it worth it? LOL! We love the AKL just never stayed at CL before.

Thanks so much for your help! Brunette:wizard:

(I am the world's worst typist, lol) EDIT

The news from Bob's speech therapist is that the burp is "significant." We are to keep an eye out for other changes that we can pinpoint!
B O B Burp On Bob!!!!:worship::thumbsup2

From looking at your ticker, you are going in late January or early February?

The $672.74 includes tax, correct? If I calculated correctly, rack rate for your trip is $385-$405+tax for the CL room. I would have to say - YES, you did get a good rate!

The CL rooms are the same as the regular resort rooms, only you are guaranteed a savanna view and there are some extra touches added in the room -- 2 plush robes, nightly turndown service. Plus you have the Itinerary Planning Office pre-trip to help with those hard-to-get reservations; and the CMs in the Club Lounge are there to help you during your stay. :thumbsup2

For me (and remember this is just my opinion! ;)) it is well worth it to stay Club Level! :cloud9: It's not that much more money than a Savanna view room and it's actually less than one of the Arusha View categories (Bunk Bed).

HTHs! :)

I teach at a private Yamaha Music School. We teach classroom piano and music composition to children aged 3 through adults. I love the variety and love that I can also do some voice and choral teaching and directing. I LOVE my job!

From when I booked (2007) we had a one bedroom because they didn't have any "regular" rooms left. I think that's what we paid per night. And it was in January. Sounds to me like you got a good rate! Use the Conceirge service to book your reservations, they got us CRT at only 2 months out! :cool1:

That sounds like a GREAT job! Much better than a college position where you have to teach piano class to all the other music majors who are only there because they have to satisfy the requirement for their degree, never practice and wish they were working on their main instrument. If I did work, I would enjoy if I were actually using music and not just "in the industry".

Hello Rachel and Everyone!

This would be for Friday, September 16th for 2 nights. It is value season I believe. We are also ANNUAL passholders, I think that's the discount we received. I did inquire about just a standard room for 2 nights that that was $414.00 for 2 nights. Both of these prices do include all taxes. :)

My other question is, what kind of offerings do they have?

As always thanks so much! We love the AKL!!!

Brunette

Ann, congrats to Tim on his big day! :yay::yay::woohoo::woohoo:

Hope you have a great celebration! :rockband:party:

Got your PM.

Thank you Kathy, all the things going on in your life and your sending Birthday wishes to my DH.

We had a very nice evening. The "Twin's Had a Super Great Time" :rolleyes1 :goodvibes

Warning.... this has NOTHING to do with AKL/AKV...

I have to post something before I explode... it will seem odd, but bear with me.

Bob burped today.

I told you it would seem odd. However, here is why I am excited: in order for a person to belch, the Upper Esophageal Sphincter (UES)has to open. The noise you hear is the vibration of that sphincter as air passes through it. The reason Bob cannot eat is that the UES is closed all the time. Or, it was.

Elin, Wow that is so wonderful! Funny, how some of us are less than happy when our DH's burp....but we all are SO Thankful that Bob burbed! We all need to be thankful for all the little things in life.....or should I say big things  Bob has come such a long way and seems to be getting better every day. :goodvibes

Elin, Less than 29 days now. WOOHOO! I will dance with you :dance3::cool1:

:wave2:

It's going to take me a little while to catch up.

Hi Laura, I am sure you had a great mini trip. I have to ask what is the NPS or whatever it was in your ticker? (Brain is slow this time of night...I can't remember what it said but your trip is in 100 day.) :rotfl2:

Good morning folks - unfortunately, there's a change that needs to be made to the list of folks going.

For financial reasons, I have changed my reservation from AKV to SSR - saves almost $700. I'll miss the animals, but we have a few ADRs at AKL/AKV, so we'll still see them!

Sorry to leave you guys.

You only can leave if you no longer love AKL/AKV :rotfl: $700 is a lot of money. I have stayed at Shades of Green to save money on past trips. Your going to be at Disney! :thumbsup2

we're leaving for AKL soooon!

Will be there Sept 4-9 :woohoo:

Sending you pixie dust pixiedust:for a wonderful trip. Please bring me back some chocolate covered Mickey Rice Krispies treats......hmm oh yea a Zebra Dome too please :rolleyes1

Hey all:grouphug:

I havent been here in almost a week, so I have no idea whats going on in everyone's life...Hope you are all well:grouphug:
We're fine, I've been working a lot...Scott increased his hours at HD, so we're adjusting to a new routine.
I can't wait for this vacation...I need it so bad!
I think IPO said I'd hear from them 1 more time at 45 days:confused3

43 more days!:cheer2:

Jen, good to see you. Glad to hear you are doing well.

Morning Jamborini's and Kidanites!! Well - it's raining............ LOL - I just hope it starts to move a little faster - they say Nola could get up to 20 inches of rain, and we could get close to 10............... YIKES :scared1:

I know!!!!! We are under 30 days now!!! WHOOO HOOOO :thumbsup2

Hi Wendy, good to see you :wave2: Geez....10 inches, maybe you could get all your fans out and blow some of that toward Texas. We traveled through the panhandle a couple of weeks ago and stay at a Drury Inn, they had a note on the desk that due to the draught, water may be turned off at any time by the city. Or there may not be any water available for long periods during the day and night. Seriously, hope you all don't get that much rain all in a couple of days.

Under a month to go till your trip. Congratulations! :) :cheer2::yay:

I was busy and couldn't get any computer time for a 1 1/2 days and you all created like 8 pages of wonderful news and great trips in the planning stage. ;)

We have a little news.....We have been invited to join one of our daughters and DSIL for a WDW trip next March. They have a timeshare so it wouldn't be staying on property......but it would be less expensive as they have time to use or loose so no $ for hotel.

Have any of you gone to Disney and not stayed on property? Did you enjoy yourself as much? Would you do it again? As you can see in my sig. we have always stayed on property so I am not sure. Any thoughts would be appreciated from my friends here.

I have not seen Brandi, is she ok? Hope she is just vacationing somewhere....but then she has a trip next month for F&W???

Have a great weekend everyone! Stay safe, dry, and remember how blessed we are to live in this great country. Even with all of its problems and such.

Our first stay at AKL CL is in December, we want to do the sunrise safari. How do I book it? Do you pay for it at the time of booking? Thanks :)

Crazy Server tonight! :-)

 I quoted the wrong post!! Angel - Brandi is fine. She & David are on a dream vacation - they flew to Amsterdam over a week ago and are doing a cruise. Home on 9/8 I believe. :cloud9:

As for staying off-property....... if that's the way I can get to WDW, I'd be fine with it!! ;) You only lose a few benefits (EMH, dining plan and DME) - otherwise, it's really no difference. :thumbsup2

Call or email the AKL IPO and let them know you want to book the Sunrise Safari. You will need to call them with your CC #. They do not take payment at booking, but do need a credit card # to guarantee (there's a 48-hour cancellation policy). :)

Brunette

Yes, you got a decent rate. AKL isn't quite as generous with their discounts as they used to be, but the AP rate is usually better than a general discount. We were there in late July/early August. I started out with AAA discount, switched to a general code when that became available, and finally when AP rates came out, I got another 5% off!!

The offerings: breakfast is truly a meal in the Lounge. They have oatmeal and quinoa, danish, pastries, bagels, toast, fruit (watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries), cold cereals, yogurt, juices, milk, coffee, tea. :cloud9:

During the day, there are various times when snacks (cookies, goldfish, pretzels, chips, etc.) will be out but there is no "lunch".

At 5pm, they put out 2 hors d'oeuvres from Boma or Jiko, plus breads & hummus, cheeses, and a small veggie offering (carrots, olives, red peppers - things like that). Oh, and beer & wine!! Some guests make a complete meal out of the offerings -- it's really intended as appetizers.

At 8pm, the desserts arrive! They no longer offer Zebra Domes, but there are always some wonderful desserts from Boma - and one night during our last stay they brought out the chocolate covered strawberries!!! :goodvibes The cordials are out then, but you can also still get beer or wine.

HTHs! :)

Good morning, Jamborinis and Kidanites! :sunny:

I will answer Ann's question about Laura's sig... NPH = Neil Patrick Harris at Candlelight Processional! We saw Whoopi Goldberg together two years ago. I wish I was going along for this one too! :goodvibes

Oops, sorry I missed that question!!

Thanks Elin and I wish you were coming along too. :guilty:

And I should explain the significance of Neil Patrick Harris -- my DD18 is absolutely head-over-heels in love with him (and yes, she knows!!! ;)). She was a theater kid/Thespian in high school and his talent just WOWS her!! :goodvibes

I fully expect she will be in tears for the entire CP!! (those OMG-I-can't-believe-he's-within-feet-of-me tears!!)

We'll let ya'll know how that goes!
