Found this thread today! We just booked AKL Jambo for March 17-24, 2012 and are so excited. We went to WDW around 2 yrs ago and stayed at POP, so AKL will be a big change for us.
If anyone has any links to any AKL info (on this board or elsewhere) that you think would be beneficial to me in planning, please let me know!

Just wondering if anyone knows what time the swimming pool's at Jambo & Kidani open & close? Does it depend on the time of year?

My family & I are helping our friends plan their holiday & our friends Husband has a knee problem & so he goes for a quick swim every morning. Would he able to do this at AKL? Before the parks?

My family & I are helping our friends plan their holiday & our friends Husband has a knee problem & so he goes for a quick swim every morning. Would he able to do this at AKL? Before the parks?

I'm not sure on the official answer. However a couple of years ago (ok more like 3 years ago) one of my friends who came with me was able to go swimming both early in the morning (7 AM there abouts) and late at night (10 PM)

Check out this first few pages of this thread. It is great Try to keep up here, it can get kinda crazy There is also, I believe, up at the top of the main page a sticky with info about all the resorts, you can find more AKL ones there. If I am wrong, someone will correct me

Good morning! We're back... We are definitely now believers and loved every minute of our AKL stay! It was awesome! We loved the lounge and especially the view from the room. About 30 minutes after we were checked in, someone knocked on the door. They were delivering four chocolate "suckers" and a birthday present for DGS2. He loved it there so much! He also loved the non-stop apple juice.

We are so excited our 1st AKL trip is in a few weeks! We plan to spend ALOT of time at the resort. We are APs and have done the parks many times-we are very interested in down time and resort relaxing.
What time at night is the firepit stories? Do all rooms come with night vision goggles or just CL? Does the resort have movies poolside at night? is it really a long wait for buses like I've read?

We will be checking into AKL in a standard view room on Monday Aug 1. Can you tell me in the rooms do they have a computer or a place to charge an Ipod Touch? We do have the charger for the wall which we are bringing, but was wondering if I should bring the wire that we use to charge it on the computer. Thanks.

I have the times guide for the resort at home, but not here at work or I could give you exact details on what time for stuff. Sorry.

Some bus waits were longer than others but none were really bad. The worse part about the buses was that we would be waiting and folding up the stroller and then more people would show up and get in front of us, take the seats, and there we were with the stroller and we were standing up. One time at DTD, a man helped me get the stroller on the bus, and one time a lady held it for us.

Night vision goggles weren't in the room and we weren't there at the times to do that so I can't answer that part. There are no computers in the rooms, but there is a cable to hook up internet if you bring one. In our CL room, we did have an Ipod docking station.

Night vision goggles are for everyone to use and the CMs have them out in the viewing areas at Dusk.

There are no computers in the room, you can bring one yourself of course, but there is also no business center at AKL.
