VMK was not meant for kids, it is was intended for adults. Here's the proof.
1.Dreams items came out first on Ebay, where you must be an adult to have an account.
2.Most host games are at 5:30 PST/8:30 EST which is clearly bed time for kids on the east coast and about the time adults get home from work on the west coast.
3.VMK closes at 10 PST/1 EST even during the week while school is in session, which is clearly past any kids bedtime.
4. Early morning host events like todays, are meant for the adults who work 2nd or 3rd shift, they need prizes too. Kids are suppose to be in school, so we know it was'nt meant for them.
5. Even the title of the game is meant for adults, "Vurtual Magic Kingdom". How could it be a Virtual Magic Kingdom with screaming kids running around in it? That would be more like "Wild Kingdom".
6.Some Avatars have beards and mustaches which kids do not have.
See VMK is for adults, we just have to behave and watch what we say because there are kids jumping over the fences and entering our Kingdom. They made Club Penguin for you kids.
If that is not proof enough for you, I can make up a few more.![]()
This is from VMK Values:" While many of VMK's players are between the ages of 8-14, VMK is designed to be enjoyed by Guests of all ages"
I am not sure where the information that the game is for adults and not children comes from, the above listed six items, doesn't indicate that to me. Kids on the east coast probably are not up at 1 a.m. for VMK, during the school week, but That makes it a 9 P.M. closing on the west coast, where there probably are alot of children up to the age of 14 awake and playing.
Dream Items did come out on Ebay, which an adult has a ebay account, But also Kids go to WDW and DLR also with their parents/Guardians, Disney is about family. An adult and many do, play with and for their children, children may have trouble on some games, or adults can. A game that can be enjoyed by the family, I have met people on VMK, who are three generation! Grand parent, Parent and Grand child. And they all seem to enjoy the game, its a way for them to do something as a family, when distance is a issue.
As for the avatars, most kids and adults are not green and pink or have pink and blue hair.
I believe aengus has the point, VMK has alot of time zones to cover, and unfortunatly not everyone will be happy with the times of events, this is not quoting him exactly, but I take this as his point.
As for the wild Kingdom analogy, some days seems like thats true, but who is to say that is the "kids" on VMK? Where I myself have run into a few rude kids, I have also run into rude adults, who thought nothing of getting what they could out of a trade on you, who were rude, and beyond greed.i.
VMK still is a family game, I personally would not if I had a child between the ages of 8-14 let them play unsupervised.
