Sailing the Wonder 3/22/09 Who's with us?

Deck 10 sounds good! I will be wearing a pink Wisconsin shirt lol! Is it too late to get us bracelets? I don't think they will get here in time? How will we know who's who? LOL?:wizard:

We are okay with deck 10 too. I think it sounds a little less crowded, and I'd like to see the action from above. That's a good question about how will we recognize everyone. If there is a certain spot that all could find then I guess it would be easier, but I don't know anything about the ship so I can't say. We will do whatever everyone else wants to do as well...I am not opposed to deck 9 by any means, I just thought from the way Tara Laine was talking deck 10 might be a little easier.

Can't wait!! 12 more days!!

Okay -- sounds like Deck 10 is a winning -- sounds fine to me. If the boys want to be closer to the action, it's easy enough for anyone to boogie down the steps and get on the dancefloor. It's not so easy to assemble and find a table/seat once the festivities begin....so better to scope out a table up on 10...

Okay -- I would like to suggest/request that we do this on the Port Side of the ship. In case you don't know, but the Starboard side is the smoking side, so I think as a meeting place for families - the Port Side would be preferable. I apologize if that offends anyone, but I know we have some pretty serious asthma and allergies in our family, and I'm willing to bet that others are in a similar situation... Folks can always visit the Starboard side during the sail-away and come back to us - but I just thought I would put that out there...

So what is the opinion of this plan.... As soon as the Boat Drill is over, send a representative back to the cabin with your family's life vests. Everyone else high-tail it up to Deck 10 - Port Side - Midship with a view of the Goofy Dancefloor (they cover the Goofy Pool)....??? Our bunch will be wearing multi-colored lei necklaces - I'll see what else we'll do...

Anyway - thoughts? Suggestions??? Alternatives?

Tara Laine---

Love the multi-colored leis......I'll see if we can come up with some of them, too! I think I'm gonna just start yelling our DIS names and see who answers back!!!

Can't wait----working on FE ex stuff tonight!--

They are found near the party supplies at any Wal-Mart or Target. Look near party favors and supplies -- they should be there. This year, we are going with the kind that have actual "flowers" v/s the plastic ruffly kind we did last year. Hopefully, they'll hold up for us...

The boys might still have on bathing suits and rash guards/swim shirts....with bucket hats and the multi-colored leis... They'll probably make us easy to spot...

Brockster party of 6 is in for DECK 10 PORTSIDE for the meet and greet. We will have our multi-colored flowered leis on!

Bring it on in 11 days!

The Chapmans are in too!! I'll hit Dollar Tree and get our leis this weekend!! I saw them there while I was shopping a few days ago! Great idea Tara Laine...I know you were just talking about for your group, but maybe this will help us all identify "our group". I'll know you guys anyway cause we'll be on the 10:00 shuttle together (from the Radisson) (so that'll give me a leg up on finding everyone I hope!).

11 more days...Woo hoo!!!!!

Hey Everybody,
On the cruise list I printed today our last name nor cabin number were listed. Our last name is Franks and our cabin is 6618. Don't forget to add us!
Christine

deck 10, portside. Will try and be there. Not for sure but if I can get my wife to agree we will all be decked out in our Colts uniforms which will make us pretty easy to find. We have finished our FE gifts and got our FE from Ebay. Now just have to get ready to start packing. We are doing some home remodeling so our house is torn apart and we are trying to get things put back together before we leave. I don't see it happening though. We actually fly to Fort Myers next Thursday, I can hardly believe it.

Yay -- so exciting!! I love that some of you are going to do the leis, too. I had thought about suggesting that, but I didn't want anyone to feel like they 'had' to purchase something...

This is going to be so much fun!! I have a ton of stuff to do -- not even close to being ready!! oy

Nine days 'til Sail Away and it's snowing in Maryland. What a week of weird weather! We had a foot of snow last week and then 70 degree weather for a few days! Ahh...all this will be a memory when I'm on the boat with an umbrella drink :thumbsup2

Shall we have a poll on the heaviest suitcase, lol?

Looking forward to meeting y'all soon.

-J

I haven't packed mine yet, but I can only guess how heavy it's gonna be (good thing it's on wheels I guess...LOL). I've started pulling things out and have my carry on packed, but I guess I'll start packing the suit cases this weekend (one for our clothes and one for FE stuff)(then I'll have the one that the FE stuff was in to bring back the stuff I get on the cruise...hee hee)(hopefully I won't be leaving with as much stuff as I came with).

Can't wait to see you guys in 9 days (single digits!!!)!!

I keep asking myself "Am I going away for 4 days or 4 years?" LOL! I keep finding stuff I need to add to my suitcase.

our attire for the sail off party and boarding has changed. We won't be wearing our colts gear. We will be in disney football style shirts. I will be in a captain Jack tank top, wife has pluto, and kids Mickey, captain jack, and cars.

Just thought would let everyone know so they don't go looking for a family in colts outfits.

Seriously....can hardly stand it! In exactly one week, will be on the way to the airport. Booked in July...so it's been a long time comin'! Have a lot to do but I'm still checking in on the DIS.....don't want to miss anything.:surfweb:

Hope you are all doing well and getting ready! Will be a blast!

Have a great weekend---

Woohoo! Time has flown by so quick! We booked in November so we didn't have that long to wait! My hubby works 3rd all this week and has off Saturday so he can rest for the flight in on Sunday. I am spending my time finishing my FE gifts, learning how to use my cam corder, and trying to remember what I haven't packed! My hubby better pack some pants or he will be surprised for Palo lol!
Going to fly by the dollar store to see what else we can pick up before we go! Plus I rented a CARES system off ebay so we don't have to lug along the car seat. That comes Monday hopefully!
Have a great day all!:cheer2:

DH and I are prepping for packing and happened to check the Bahamian weather....Agh!!! It looks like it's going to be a soggy one...

40% chance of showers for Nassau and 60% chance of showers for Castaway Cay.

I've seen some posts where the ship doesn't even dock sometimes... oh no!

If you book an excursion through Disney and don't get to go due to weather, you are not charged, right??

Hate to be the bearer of bad news. Just thought I'd mention it in case you want to pack some rain gear! :sad2:

Okay...I'm here! Let's get this party started!! Just kidding - it took me this long to find a message board with smart people. :) Thanks for directions imanazd!! My little famiily is joining you on next weeks cruise and plan to get there a bit earlier than most - Thursday we check into the Animal Kingdom for the start of our very first Disney vacation! I went once about 20 yrs ago but DH & 2 boys (ages 4 going on 5 in 2 wks and 8 yrs. old) have never visited and NONE of us have EVER been on a cruise!!

Oh and for all of you planners...I just started packing today....:rotfl:

Welcome, Crayola!! My boys are the same age as your little one. Max and Zach will be 5 years old in April. They have so much fun at the O-Club!! They can't wait!!
