Sailing the Wonder 3/22/09 Who's with us?

OMG - I have so got to get on the stick!! If you were wondering why I booked a hotel at a port that is TWO HOURS AWAY??? Well, it's because otherwise, I'd be still throwing stuff in the suitcases at 10:00 a.m. on SUNDAY!!

-Hope you all had a great cruise!! Did everyone make it home safely (or wherever you were heading next)??

It's funny, because I saw some of you all week long -- and I never/rarely ran into others of you. Sorry we didn't wind up getting to stay on Deck 10 for the Sail-Away....kinda ironic, since I picked the location. But, since most of the rest of you had older kids, you were probably in a great spot to be able to see everything, etc... My 5 year-olds came right up to the railing level, so they really wanted to get down near the 'action'. Funny/sad thing was, they were so tired by the time we got to the big sail-away show that they really didn't get to dance and have fun like they normally would. They would normally have had a nap in the afternoon, and they really aren't the same without it....they were sooooo tired after that, lol....sacked out almost immediately afterward, lol....

Had so much fun, though. It wasn't was I'd call 'relaxing' for DH and me -- but it was a fun family trip. (Notice I never use the word 'vacation' - lol....) The next cruise is for grownies only!!

I can't wait to hear about your trips!!

just a quick response. We got to Fort Myers safely. Don't fly back to Indiana til Sunday. We had a great time. Sorry didn't meet everyone personally. The kids had a great time witht he FE. Every morning getting up it was the first thing they wanted to do is to check and see if we had any gifts and same thing everytime we returned to room.

Anybody else thinking of doing the 3 day cruise for $99 per person this fall?

OMG, Dan - that was y'all!!!???!!! How funny!! I loved getting to meet you guys at the hot tub -- isn't it funny how things work out. It is a small world - for sure... And I loved that you used my name in vain, lol....sorry Fiji, lol...

I'm definitely thinking that grownies-only is the way to go next time. This one wore me out!! LOL Disney vacations are lots of things, but 'relaxing' is usually not one of them, lol...

So great to meet everyone -- wish we could have spent more time with everyone. I was really happy to have found as many of you as we did. It kind of helps that (with the boys) we tended to stick out like a sore thumb, lol...

Thanks to everyone for the FE's! We had lots of fun putting them together and delivering them. The boys had such a big time handing them out and checking their pockets! Thanks!!

So how does this $99 cruise thing work? Anyone done it before?

I've never done the 99(typing and can't find the dollar sign in the dark lol) thing before but I called DCL because I see here on the chat board that people have been booking their cruise and then are going to be sending in their coupons to get credit. But if you do that you have to pay a deposit of $100.00 per person.
So I am waiting until April 6th to do mine. Plus there are some black out dates too. There are some taxes from what I understand and tips you have to pay. We are going to be spending a few days at WDW and I am for sure booking my own air this time.
We were at MCO about 3 hours early because we were in the first boarding group and my kids drove me nuts! LOL! We are planning on going in August or November so we can go see the lights! Also you get the same catagory you originally booked. But I am not sure if you had to be in a certain catagory.

When I asked the lady on the cruise who was booking the cruises, she said the $99 deal was for people who had booked their current cruise (ie March 22-26) before 12/31/08. So, I don't think we are eligible since we booked in Feb. 09.

If you find out differently, lmk. I'm up for another 4-dayer in the Fall!

Had a fantastic time on the trip....although, like Tara Laine said, it's not as relaxing with the kids! BTW...Tara Laine, my kids love the boys!

We actually rebooked on-board for 9/17/09. We just held the room with $100 deposit and got the 10% discount and OBC. The girl said we could switch to $99 bounceback (with coupons they put in our room the last night) or we could keep the 10% off with OBC ressie and use as a placeholder for a future cruise....maybe on new ship???

Obviously, if we switch to the bounceback we lose the OBC, which is fine.

We are planning a "girls" trip with 6 of us in 2 rooms. Would love for some of you to join us. For 3 of us in a Cat 10, I think price was $1200. We are planning a couple of days at WDW prior, also.

The bounceback cruise is a 3-dayer so I did some research and found out the sail date we want is November 19th. We are going to fly in on that Monday November 16th and stay for 3 days at Pop. The Very Merry Christmas tickets go on sale May 1st and I think I saw the party for Nov 18th. So fingers crossed I hope our dates won't be blocked out but rest assured I will be on the puter bright and early to book lol!

Right now have on hold a room for the Cruise on Sept. 3rd. The Thursday, Friday, Saturday before labor day.

Too good of an offer to pass up.

Hey guys!! Sorry it took me so long to get back on. I just thought I'd check and see if everyone was still chatting and I am pleasantly surprised!! I enjoyed meeting everyone as well and LOVED all of our FE stuff. Like DisneyDan, DH and I were like 2 kids when we came back to the cabin checking our FE.

We are doing the Fall $99 BB...waiting for the April 6 booking date to see if they have the blackout dates listed yet. We are thinking late Oct. if it is available, but not opposed to Sept I don't think. When you guys come up with a date if some of you are planning on meeting up, let me know...we have no definate plans yet except that we would love to do the BB this Fall.

Again, it was such a pleasure meeting you guys and can't wait to do it again!!

(can't wait to get my next date, so I can start my ticker again!! hee hee)

Hey Tinkmom...I just read and enjoyed your review. Judy from Barbados was our Palo server too!! Wasn't she great!?! We really enjoyed her. We originally had our Palo reservations for Wednesday night because it was my b-day, but when we got our dining schedule (APPT), we went to Wave Bands the first afternoon to change it to either Monday or Tuesday so we could do all 3 of the other resturants too (Parrot Cay was on Pirate night, but I guess we still got the atmosphere of the place).

Hope everyone is doing well...I miss not being on the ship...I got so spoiled!!

Well I put our bounceback on hold and have to go pay for it on Monday. I didn't write down my ressie number so I will have to call in anyway! I hope they can take my bounceback coupon then! We had such a great time on our cruise! (Except for the sickness of course!) I wish I could meet more of you!
Judy was awesome! I am going to request my servers again for the next time. We got some really great FE gifts this last time. Now I know what to do and have some ideas of what to make!
We got a chance to step foot in Parrot Cay when we tracked down our servers to give our tips. Next time I will make it a point to eat there lol!

Hi Cruisers! Just a very belated THANK YOU (from my whole group of 6 cabins) for all of the FANTASTIC FE gifts! Our gifts would have been the ones without names on them because I forgot to mention that little detail to the group.

My whole gang of 6 cabins has this cruise on hold too. We're going to wait until tomorrow to apply the discount code and pay the deposit incase this one is blacked out. I'm hoping and praying they add another 3 night cruise on October 15 (if the Wonder finishes dry dock early) since that would fall during the kids fall break.
