Sailing the Wonder 3/22/09 Who's with us?

Hi,
I am making a homemade gift and am afraid I may not have enough! Can you tell me if it is one family in each cabin or the same family spread out in your cabins? My big gift I want to do one per family but have some smaller FE gifts too! Thanks!
Christine

My family of 5 is actually in 2 cabins (7588 & 7590) - wouldn't blame you a bit for only doing one homemade FE for us. :flower3:

3 more weeks!!!!!!!! :woohoo: :dance3: :cool1: pirate: :cheer2:

I just ordered my Fish Extender from a woman on eBay. I got a Pirates of the Caribbean FE - but she's putting a Pirate Mickey at the top (instead of a Pirate Ship) -- I'm excited!

There's still plenty of time for her to do others, if you still need one. I figured I'd easily spend $35 in materials and time if I tried to do it myself....and I want one sturdy enough to use for future cruises...

So is everyone getting excited?? I notice a bunch of us are first-time cruisers. I cruised on this ship last January, so I would be happy to answer any questions you guys might have. Do we have some other past-cruisers?? Ask away, folks!

I know that on my first cruise, I learned SOOOOO many things during the week. I can't wait to come back 'knowing' this time -- it will be even more fun!!

Goodness...I've obviously been remiss in visiting the Meet Thread...So sorry Wonder friends.:sad2:

Please count AuntMinnie12 in for the FE. We will have 2 cabins:
7503---Myself (DMom), DS14, DD11, DSF14 (leaving hubby at home)
7502---My DF (a DMom), DD12

My kids will be excited to hear about other teens and tweens on board.

Been way too busy at work but have been making a handful of magnets..will get cracking on FE's now...and things to fill them.

Also staying at Residence Inn Saturday night. Glad to be back in the loop!
:grouphug:

Thanks--

Yay, more exchangers!! Hopefully, we can get these on the main spreadsheet - I'm losing count quickly, and I want to make sure I'm buying enough stuff....

I'm so excited about sharing goodies and meeting everyone!!

Has anymore discussion taken place about a meet and greet? Time or place?

Oh my goodness...I am getting so excited!! I'm just a big kid at heart and can not wait to get on the ship!! This is not my first cruise, but it is my first Disney cruise. It is my DH's first cruise and I know he is going to have an awesome time!! We have found so much info on the cruise boards that I think we have most questions answered (except for those that will creep up on us...like I'm sure there will be).

It looks like lots of us are on level 7!! Yay!!

See you all in 3 weeks!!

We will be staying at the Radisson Saturday night and taking the 10:00AM shuttle to the terminal on Sunday morning. I was looking at photos the Radison had posted and you can see the ships coming in from the hotel...so excited!!

Be on the lookout for the latest Cruise list in your emails!

Tinkmom2 - need your email so you can get the list! PM here and I'll email you the list!

There have been a lot of questions of shoring up the Sailaway Meet & Greet. Can someone take the lead on this? Perhaps someone who knows the layout of the best locale on the ship? Thanks!

Let me know if I've got the Fish Extender Exchange guidelines correct:

-one gift per cabin per cruise
-one gift for each child on the cruise

That's at the minimum. If others want to do something more, that's great!

All the best from snowy Maryland!
Brockster

Yippee!! It's getting close!! I picked up some little goodie bags from the store today -- so I can make my little FE gifts. I have lots of little things I'm putting into a bag....might do some other stuff during the week, but I want at least one full bag of stuff.....whoohoo!

Mandy, we're at the Radisson, too!! We're also shuttling over at 10:00 - so we'll DEFINITELY see you and DH that morning, if not before!! If the weather is warm enough, we'll be at the pool the evening before, I'm sure of it....so look for a Mom (with ponytail), Dad (with red hair) and two boys who are dressed alike but look different, lol...

I was sooooo productive today!! I got the med form for my little asthmatic dude who has peanut allergies. If you have any sort of med needs, be sure and download the med form and have your Dr fill out. The Dr's on staff try to prepare for each passenger - and sometimes that means having meds on hand or at least knowing a person with a chronic illness is onboard. It is no big deal, but it's good to do. If you have a need for an Epi Pen, be sure and bring it onboard with you.

FijiDoc, if your DD (with allergies) is doing the Kids Club, be sure and bring two Epi Pens with you. If I recall, I left one there at the OClub and then kept the other in my bag. That way, I didn't have to round it up every time we picked him up from the club. He was 3 1/2 last year when he did it for the first time, and there was never any indication that he came in contact with anything - -they're pretty careful about that stuff, and he's pretty picky about what he eats anyway, lol... I made sure to bring Benedryl on with us as well - for whatever...

I'm trying to think about where we might meet for our get-together.... How about we all respond with a couple of answers that might help...?? If nothing else, it might bring up some common interests...

DISCLAIMER - you don't have to answer ANY of these questions if you don't want to -- or you can just answer the ones you want. I realize that some might not know - and that's okay too. We promise not to pin you down to the answers on this thread -- lots can change after a couple of Bahama Mama drinks....or some Mickey Premium Bars, lol... (you know you can order them from Room Service, right? It's not on the menu, but you can...)

#1: About when do you 'think' you will be arriving on the Wonder on Sunday?
#2: What dinner seating did you wind up getting?
#3: Do you enjoy any of the late-night music shows (guy who plays James Taylor, etc...)
#4: Once you get yourself situated (luggage/reservations/orientation), how do you plan to spend the first day? (swimming, eating, reading, sleeping, exercising, etc...)
#5: Do you plan to attend the Goofy Sail-Away Party - after the boat drill? That might be an option if we can all plan on a specific part of the deck. It's a fun party, and it would be a great way to break the ice... It all takes place on Deck 9, I believe -- lots of music, etc...and most of us would be there anyway (which might be rare with a group this size...)
#6: What activities/amenities are you most looking forward to on this cruise??
#7: Do you expect your kids to spend time in the 'Kids Clubs'? (Are you prepared to only see them at bedtime, lol....some kids would rather stay there all day long, no kidding, lol...) ;-)
#8: Are you going Nassau? What are you planning to do in the Bahamas? If not, what are you planning to do on the ship?
#9: Are you going to Castaway Cay? What do you plan to do on the island? If not, what are you onboard plans?
#10: Is there anything else you would like to add? Do you think Tara Laine is nosy/nuts for putting out this post, lol...? (maybe you shouldn't answer that one, lol)

Anyway - hopefully that will get the ball rolling on some things we have in common. If nothing else, it will probably bring up some points that others of us haven't considered...

Has everyone got a copy of previous Navigators?? Brockster, I can send you a PDF of the set I downloaded (so you can send it out with the next FE mailing) -- it's great to be able to print and see the kinds of things you might want to do. Certainly, things will change between now and then, but a lot will be exactly the same... Let me know if you all want to have a copy...

I'm getting excited!! Can't wait to get to know you all over the next few weeks!!

Okay...I'll go first with the questions:

#1-We will be taking the 10:00 shuttle from the Radisson...I read from a previous cruiser who stayed there that it is only about 5 minutes from the terminal (so excited!!...you'll probably hear this more than once...hee hee).

#2-We got 2nd seating.

#3-Guess we are going to play it by ear...not opposed though.

#4-Again, it will be a play it by ear thing, but I'd like to take time exploring the ship and getting some pics of everything!!

#5-Of course we will be at the sail away party!! I can't wait...we'll have our camera's handy for this too (photo fanatic here!!)

#6-EVERYTHING...don't think I can pick just one...I'm so excited I want to do anything and everything we have time for...shows, movies, character meets, pin trading...there is just too much!!

#7-We don't have kids, so this one does not apply.

#8-We are going to the aquarium @ Atlantis as our excursion, then will probably venture into the "Straw Market" and look for little things to take back to people at home.

#9-Yes we are planning on going to CC...I hope to rent a paddle boat and get some good pics of the Flying Dutchman. Then we will just explore the beach, and you guessed it, take some pictures!! (maybe do the sting-ray thing...anyone know anything about it?)

#10-I think you about covered everything except is anyone dressing up for the Pirate Party and does anyone have any ideas about how to dress up for the Pirate Party?

Have a good night all!! Can't wait to see everyone soon!!

(Tara Laine...we will look for you guys on Saturday, and if we doh't find you, we will see you on the shuttle for sure!!)

I'm going to sort of add-on to your answers -- I've got a puny little guy over here -- so I'll try to be quick...

Okay...I'll go first with the questions:

#1-We will be taking the 10:00 shuttle from the Radisson...

We're also at the Radisson. We'll see you there at 10 - if not before!! :thumbsup2

#2-We got 2nd seating.

We did too! I am thinking we'll feed the boys before dinner most nights and then have a nice, relaxing dinner with just the grown-ups. They would rather be at the O-Club anyway... :cloud9:

#3-Guess we are going to play it by ear...not opposed though.

#4-Again, it will be a play it by ear thing, but I'd like to take time exploring the ship and getting some pics of everything!!

I'm definitely all for the playing by ear. One of the things I am planning to do this time is be flexible about when/where we eat. Last year we were with Grammy, so it was kind of a given that we would all eat in the dining room each night. With two little boys and two adults to get ready, I was fit to be tied by the time we got seated :headache:. Not to mention the fact that I spent more time shushing them and trying to keep them fed/entertained that I didn't even taste my dinner....

But then the ONE NIGHT that we decided to let them have their way and eat dinner with the Kids' Club, it turned out to be Pirate Night! :sad2: I felt so sad and guilty that they were missing the most fun dinner of the cruise -- OMG, I couldn't believe it!! Soooooooo, this time we're thinking we'll do the opposite and play it by ear the rest of the cruise - but make sure they don't miss anything on Pirate Night. pirate:

I'm also looking to take a bunch of pics!! I got a new camera for Christmas, and I can't wait to see the shots from the ship and on Castaway Cay!! :cloud9: It's always fun to play with a new toy!

#5-Of course we will be at the sail away party!! I can't wait...we'll have our camera's handy for this too (photo fanatic here!!)

This might be the best bet for a meet -- and great because it will be right at the beginning....

This party is really something to see! Last year, I was TOTALLY unprepared for what took place! I only had the camera on my phone to capture the first 10 minutes - when I think I finally went back down and grabbed the real camera. I'd kind of always blown off sail-away parties on other ships, because I am not a big drinker/partier.

On a Disney ship, I figured the crowd would be family-friendly but not particularly exciting. I honestly thought we would just have a little music and wave as we headed out to see....popcorn:: Uh, no...it was a full-on par-tay that the kids were just....in...heaven! :woohoo: I have NEVER seen them so happy and excited -- ever.... party: They were dancing and twirling their little streamer sticks that the crew had handed out...awesome! I guess because it was the first time they'd ever been in the middle of such a big party -- and it was totally safe and approved....awesome! I will definitely be ready with the video camera and regular cam for sure this time!! :dance3:So many of the characters are up on stage and everyone was up dancing -- fantastic!!

#6-EVERYTHING...don't think I can pick just one...I'm so excited I want to do anything and everything we have time for...shows, movies, character meets, pin trading...there is just too much!!

Do you have a Navigator so you can prioritize? For instance, they are showing Bolt 3-D several times during the cruise -- not just during 'prime time'. That way, you can do other things during the evening if you would rather catch a matinee showing another day....same for lots of other things that are going on several times a day...

I tell you one thing I'm definitely doing -- visiting the spa! :cloud9: Last time it was just amazing! Check the Navigator to see if there are any specials you might want to wait for - v/s booking before you get on the ship. Their pedicures are amazing!! The massage was heaven, too -- just incredible. I am hoping DH will come and do a massage, too...

I have a bunch of audiobooks that I will have on my iPog and waterproof mp3 player (depending on where I am). - That way, I don't have to try and read out there on deck - or cart around a bunch of books -- I can just enjoy the view and have my books read to me -- it's gonna be amazing!! :cloud9:

#7-We don't have kids, so this one does not apply.

For those of you with kids who haven't cruised (or haven't cruised w/ Disney) - you can expect any of several reactions to the Kids' Clubs... I honestly didn't think my boys would want to stay as long as they did, but I usually had to pry them out of the Clubs when it was time to go. Now, I realize that they could react totally differently this year - and I'm not making too many big plans...just in case we are a foursome more than a twosome.

But I will say that I am hoping to have them enjoy the activities again this year. I will also make sure to read the Navigator to make sure they don't miss some of the good stuff in the a.m. Last year, we kinda slept in and missed a bunch of character interaction in the Clubs. Now that they are in Pre-K, their hours are much earlier in the morning -- they should be up in time for all of the fun stuff with their friends!! :thumbsup2

#8-We are going to the aquarium @ Atlantis as our excursion, then will probably venture into the "Straw Market" and look for little things to take back to people at home.

I think we're going to stay on ship this day. I have a pedicure booked for first thing that morning. The boys will really enjoy having the 'Mickey Slide' less crowded during the day! They could do that for hours at a time - no lie! I'm looking forward to just sort of 'getting my bearings' this day - doing some shopping, seeing some shows, relaxing by the pool/on deck loungers, etc.... Eeet's gonna be great, Mon!

#9-Yes we are planning on going to CC...I hope to rent a paddle boat and get some good pics of the Flying Dutchman. Then we will just explore the beach, and you guessed it, take some pictures!! (maybe do the sting-ray thing...anyone know anything about it?)

If what I am reading is true - they have ribeye steaks over there at the Adult Beach. I will post a link the next time I read them talking about it... I didn't make it to the BBQ in time last year (see the next paragraph), so it's high on our list!!

I was running all over the place last year -- actually thinking the boys wanted to play on the beach with me. We got all the way to the family beach, BOUGHT and unpacked all of the sand toys and whatnot and got settled into the sand when the first one piped up, "Can I go to the Kids' Club?" oy!! I'll shorten the story to tell you that I took the first one, returned to the beach for FIVE MINUTES before the second one wanted to go play with the kids. :confused3 So, uh, yeah - rather than spend an hour schlepping back and forth from the family beach to the check-in desk, we'll just hope that's their first pick again this year. :wizard:

So this time, while they're at the Kids' Club and we're gonna head straight for Serenity Beach -- ahhhhhhhhhh -- that's gonna be amazing!! :cloud9: We'll hop the tram a time or two to re-apply sunscreen, but they were so bummed when I went to pick them up last year, lol....they would have stayed and played with the water sprayer/sand (yuck) all day long, lol... They don't take them to the beach, but they have all sorts of water-play that they do in their little area. They were having the biggest time - and getting so covered in wet sand.

Oooh -- one thing to remember - be sure and have something dry/warm to wrap you all in for the trek back to the cruise ship. The boys were fine in the kids area when they were running and playing in the sun. As soon as we started back for the ship, we were in the shade a bunch and the wind picked up -- they were fuh-reezing. I wound up having to give them my sarong as a blanket for on the way back. This time, I'll be sure and have a change of clothes (in a 2 gallon ziploc) and get them all showered off and changed before we leave the island. That way, we can grab something to eat and head back to the cabin for a nap -- without having to do the whole shower/change thing in the room.... I just came up with that!! :cool1: See - this is why it's good to talk this stuff out!! (I don't know about y'all, but everyone over here is probably tired of hearing about the cruise and the logistics....even people going!)

#10-I think you about covered everything except is anyone dressing up for the Pirate Party and does anyone have any ideas about how to dress up for the Pirate Party?

We are dressing up -- sort of... I am not dressing like a wench or anything, but we all have shirts and hats that are Pirate-y in nature. I have t-shirts for the boys during the day to wear - several Disney Pirate shirts. There are all levels of dress that night. Keep in mind that it might still be chilly at night - or at least windy. Last year I nearly froze, but it was January....March should be a bit warmer....

The boys and Dad have POTC hockey jerseys that they'll wear. I have a really cool black pirates girlie-shirt that I will probably need to have something underneath. They also have pirate hats....including a bandana set with mickey ears that Dad will probably wear. I have a black/white pirate headband thing that ties -- I'll wear that also....

If you don't have anything already (and unless you stop at a local party shop and luck out), you can buy several pirate items in the shops onboard. They know that most people will get there without even knowing that there IS a Pirate Night - much less being prepared to do anything about it... Sooooooo, not to worry if you don't have any Gaaarrrrrrhhhbbb. (sorry, had to do it)

In the meantime, there will be people who look like they just got out of the pool/gym/dining room (total street clothes - no theme) ....others will look like they walked off the set with Jack Sparrow - and everything in between...

That is the night where you can get the smoked Turkey Legs at the nighttime buffet, by the way -- just like in the parks!! Mmmmmmm I'd forgotten all about that until I read it last week! :woohoo:

Have a good night all!! Can't wait to see everyone soon!!

(Tara Laine...we will look for you guys on Saturday, and if we doh't find you, we will see you on the shuttle for sure!!)

Thanks for sharing your answers!! I hope everyone gets a chance to chime in -- should be fun sharing plans and questions/info. I know we're all reading the other posts on board, so hopefully here will be a chance to pool some of the info.

I can't believe it's almost here!! I bought some over-the-door hangers! I am thinking of hanging up the hangers and packing my stuff right into the pockets. That way, all I have to do is unroll the hanger bags and voila! :wizard: This is perhaps easier for me because I'm driving -- but I'm still going to be putting the whole thing in a giant-sized ziploc bag -- just in case. Has anyone else ever tried it this way? I just think it will help me think of what I need to pack, etc...

Don't know if I am doing this right but I am going to try:

#1: About when do you 'think' you will be arriving on the Wonder on Sunday?

We are coming by car. Staying with parents at Fort Myers and they are driving us over. Hope to be there around 10 am to get ready for boarding.

#2: What dinner seating did you wind up getting?

We have early seating. Our 3 year old couldn't wait til later to eat. Could have fed him early I guess but with this being our first cruise didn't know which to do.

#3: Do you enjoy any of the late-night music shows (guy who plays James Taylor, etc...)

Not for sure what you mean but these. If you mean for adults at the clubs, we are hopeing to have our 3 year old stay flounders a couple of nights so we could have some time out just me and the wife.

#4: Once you get yourself situated (luggage/reservations/orientation), how do you plan to spend the first day? (swimming, eating, reading, sleeping, exercising, etc...)

Hope to do some swimming. Can't decide if going to go to lunch buffet or just grab pizza or a burger and go to the pool. Thoughts from anyone who has crusied before? this is our first.

#5: Do you plan to attend the Goofy Sail-Away Party - after the boat drill? That might be an option if we can all plan on a specific part of the deck. It's a fun party, and it would be a great way to break the ice... It all takes place on Deck 9, I believe -- lots of music, etc...and most of us would be there anyway (which might be rare with a group this size...)

yes we absolutlety do. If people want to try and meet up somewhere during or before this that is fine with me. Since we have never been need someone else to recommend a time and location.

#6: What activities/amenities are you most looking forward to on this cruise??

Don't really know for sure. Hope to do a little bit of everything. Plan to try and make the evening shows. Really want to see Race to Witch Mountan as well and Bolt 3D. Otherwise just going to try and play it by ear. We do have a couples massage scheduled for the full day at sea.

#7: Do you expect your kids to spend time in the 'Kids Clubs'? (Are you prepared to only see them at bedtime, lol....some kids would rather stay there all day long, no kidding, lol...) ;-)

Not for sure. We have a 9 and 7 year old. If they were in the same group, I'm sure they would love to stay and play together. Because they aren't in the same groups not for sure if they will love it or want to spend more time swimming and at movies with us.

#8: Are you going Nassau? What are you planning to do in the Bahamas? If not, what are you planning to do on the ship?

We are staying on the ship. Going to get ourself acquainted. Spend some time at the pool and just see what activities excite the kids the most.

#9: Are you going to Castaway Cay? What do you plan to do on the island? If not, what are you onboard plans?

As of now we are going to CC. Going to get some beach time, maybe go snorkeling with the older two kids. Plan on having lunch at the BBQ. Depending on what the kids want to do will probably determine what we do and how long we stay.

#10: Is there anything else you would like to add? Do you think Tara Laine is nosy/nuts for putting out this post, lol...? (maybe you shouldn't answer that one, lol)

Not at all. I think someone just has the Disney spirit in their blood.

Yes I copied the one from the Feb. 22, 2009 cruise. Really helped to see how things were scheduled and get me used to the Navigator.

Hope this came out ok. If we don't end up meeting at the meet and great and you are on deck 8 just stop by and say hello. Our door will be decorated with several pictures and will have the Rapp's on it and we will have a Pirates of the Carribean FE.

can't wait to get on the boat.

You did it exactly right!! I'm glad to get a sense of where everyone is with their planning. So Doc, is this your first cruise -- or just your first Disney Cruise? It's sort of a trick question, because to be honest -- once I went on a Disney Cruise, it was like I'd never been on a cruise before -- honestly, lol.... You're gonna be so spoiled - I hope you know that, lol...

Don't know if I am doing this right but I am going to try:

#1: About when do you 'think' you will be arriving on the Wonder on Sunday?

We are coming by car. Staying with parents at Fort Myers and they are driving us over. Hope to be there around 10 am to get ready for boarding.

Great -- maybe we'll see you if you get there at the same time. Several of us will be taking 10 a.m. shuttles from our hotels...

#2: What dinner seating did you wind up getting?

We have early seating. Our 3 year old couldn't wait til later to eat. Could have fed him early I guess but with this being our first cruise didn't know which to do.

They usually give the early seatings to families with little ones -- if you are planning on having them eat with you each night, early is definitely preferred...

Yeah, there are a couple of live musicians that play some of the lounges in the evenings -- several good shows, it looked like. They do covers - seeming to kind of feature one artist or type of music... We're looking forward to it -- I think...

I would think - especially with 3 kids, I would be inclined to go for either the lunch buffet or get food from the pizza/burger/hot dog places. Just know that I tend to pick the line of least resistance on vacations -- so take that into consideration when I state my thoughts... :cloud9: There are several different spots on that deck that offer counter service (all close together) -- and it's all really, really good. I was kind of shocked at the quality last year -- really... They have brats and all kinds of stuff...

Make sure you guys have your swimsuits on when you get to the ship -- makes it easier to do the pool thing. You can have them on under your clothes...

My guys will be sliding from the moment we get there -- so I'm pretty sure that we'll be eating near the pool.

Keep in mind that you can get the buffet food to-go....so you can check out the buffet and bring out a tray of buffet food to your spot by the pool. They will have peel 'n eat shrimp and stuff like that at the buffet. That allows you to have the best of both...

Well - the boat drill will be at 4:00 and the Sail-Away party starts at 4:15. I plan to send DH with everyone's life vests while I shuttle the guys up to the party deck. We can't save seats for whole parties, but if a good bit of us find each other, we can all kind of mill around the same area... It's a party, so there will be more dancing and moving around than sitting...

I'm trying to think of a good place for us to meet. I will take a look at pictures of that deck. We had a great spot last time - just totally happened upon it - to be honest... Don't forget your cameras!!

If you are planning to do the movies -- you might want to consider bringing your own snacks with you. You can get all sorts of candy before you get on the ship and bring it into the theater. If you buy it there, you'll be paying CRAZY prices -- I read someone's post about a bag of m&m's being $9.00!!!

We are staying on the ship. Going to get ourself acquainted. Spend some time at the pool and just see what activities excite the kids the most.

Good attitude -- just try to remain fluid and see what happens. Just because mine loved it last year -- this could be totally different. Either way, I'll have an easier time becaue DH is way more help with the boys. Grammy is wonderful, but she's just not physically up to keeping up with 2 active pre-schoolers....

Sounds perfect -- there are so many options -- and just as long as you know what those options are....you're way ahead of most passengers. It's amazing how many people go on these cruises (or trips to WDW) and don't do the first bit of research. :surfweb: I mean, for me, not only is this some of the most fun -- to get to talk about and think about a vacation for weeks/months before the actual date....but we will get so much more out of our trip because we knew what we were doing. The ones that just wander around and sort of hunt and peck their way through it -- that's just throwing your money away...

Just knowing that you can get Mickey Premium Bars from Room Service....or that there's a quiet deck most people don't visit....or that the door hanger storage is one of the best things you can pack....that's such a big part of my enjoyment.....all of those little details!! :wizard:

#10: Is there anything else you would like to add? Do you think Tara Laine is nosy/nuts for putting out this post, lol...? (maybe you shouldn't answer that one, lol)

Not at all. I think someone just has the Disney spirit in their blood.

awwwwwww, glad you appreciate the pixie dust... :wizard:

Has everyone got a copy of previous Navigators?? Brockster, I can send you a PDF of the set I downloaded (so you can send it out with the next FE mailing) -- it's great to be able to print and see the kinds of things you might want to do. Certainly, things will change between now and then, but a lot will be exactly the same... Let me know if you all want to have a copy...

You're doing a POTC FE too -- cool!! Ours should be arriving in the next week - yay!

Looking forward to meeting you guys!! Thanks for joining in the conversation!!

Here goes for us:

#1: About when do you 'think' you will be arriving on the Wonder on Sunday?
***Hope to arrive ~10am....want to be in the ship as long as possible***

#2: What dinner seating did you wind up getting?
***Late seating...actually requested it with the big kids***

#3: Do you enjoy any of the late-night music shows (guy who plays James Taylor, etc...)
***on first cruise, had little kids and were way to tired. DFriend and I plan to partake of the late night entertainment***

#4: Once you get yourself situated (luggage/reservations/orientation), how do you plan to spend the first day? (swimming, eating, reading, sleeping, exercising, etc...)
***Not exercising...and if any of you are planning to exercise right away, I may not be able to hang out with you! JK!......will likely explore and introduce our newbies to the ship. If time permits, maybe some swimming and reading***

***Most definitely....will be very fun.....and of, course will have a cocktail*** :thumbsup2

#6: What activities/amenities are you most looking forward to on this cruise??
***Spa, Palo, did a cooking demo last time that was fun. Will hopefully check out the different cocktail tastings....hopefully not all on the same day***

#7: Do you expect your kids to spend time in the 'Kids Clubs'? (Are you prepared to only see them at bedtime, lol....some kids would rather stay there all day long, no kidding, lol...) ;-)
**they are older.....will likely do some planned activities but the DS and DSFriend will spend most of their time on the sports deck***

#8: Are you going Nassau? What are you planning to do in the Bahamas? If not, what are you planning to do on the ship?
***staying on the ship....can't wait to check out some of the movies and/or demos/classes***

#9: Are you going to Castaway Cay? What do you plan to do on the island? If not, what are you onboard plans?
***Parasailing and Stingray encounter...then hopefully a wicked game of beach volleyball***

#10: Is there anything else you would like to add? Do you think Tara Laine is nosy/nuts for putting out this post, lol...? (maybe you shouldn't answer that one, lol)
***Tara Laine, I think you are great! I love coming to the DIS because I feel much better about my travel OCD...knowing there are many others like me***

My gang couldn't be more excited! Well, I guess I may be a bit more excited than the others. My DS thinks I'm nuts with all the magnets I've been creating. Having a basement full of scrapbooking supplies certainly helps in the magnet/fish extender creation department.

Happy Tuesday---
Missy

#1: About when do you 'think' you will be arriving on the Wonder on Sunday?
Probably about 10:30 am. Staying at Residence Inn on Saturday evening.

#2: What dinner seating did you wind up getting?
2nd.

#3: Do you enjoy any of the late-night music shows (guy who plays James Taylor, etc...)
Sure, if I can stay up that late, lol!

#4: Once you get yourself situated (luggage/reservations/orientation), how do you plan to spend the first day? (swimming, eating, reading, sleeping, exercising, etc...)
Hope to hit Parrot Cay for lunch, then unpack, then hit the pool for a bit. Do the ‘drill’ and attend the Sail-Away Party. Probably do a show before dinner.

#5: Do you plan to attend the Goofy Sail-Away Party - after the boat drill? That might be an option if we can all plan on a specific part of the deck. It's a fun party, and it would be a great way to break the ice... Yes!

#6: What activities/amenities are you most looking forward to on this cruise??
Pool, eating, maybe spa, shows, bingo…I wanna do it all!

#7: Do you expect your kids to spend time in the 'Kids Clubs'? (Are you prepared to only see them at bedtime, lol....some kids would rather stay there all day long, no kidding, lol...) ;-)
Nah, think she’d rather hang with us. But we’ll show her the club and let her decide.

#8: Are you going Nassau? What are you planning to do in the Bahamas? If not, what are you planning to do on the ship?
Yes! We have the Dolphin Encounter planned for the AM. Maybe do the beach in the pm or do some shopping.

#9: Are you going to Castaway Cay? What do you plan to do on the island? If not, what are you onboard plans?
Yes! Plan to do some snorkeling right away (brr) before the sand is churned up! Then just laze the day in the sun.

#10: Is there anything else you would like to add? Do you think Tara Laine is nosy/nuts for putting out this post, lol...? (maybe you shouldn't answer that one, lol)

Nah, appreciate all the info from Tara Laine and the posters for our very first cruise!

Here's Mine!
#1: About when do you 'think' you will be arriving on the Wonder on Sunday?
Hopefully by sail time lol! We get into MCO at 1:05. When we go to WDW we don't get to our hotels by 3. Maybe this will be faster since we don't have hotel stops?

#2: What dinner seating did you wind up getting?
We have second dinner seating too!

Do you enjoy any of the late-night music shows (guy who plays James Taylor, etc...)
Don't know yet!

#4: Once you get yourself situated (luggage/reservations/orientation), how do you plan to spend the first day? RELAXING! We will probably be in the swim pool and stuffing our faces lol!

Exercise: I plan on doing the treadmill in the morning before everyone wakes. Hopefully I will be in there by 7!

#5: Do you plan to attend the Goofy Sail-Away Party - after the boat drill?
We sure do!

#6: What activities/amenities are you most looking forward to on this cruise??
We have the couples massage and Palo's. Hubby and DD are doing the Nassau Blue Lagoon dolphin thingy.

#7: Do you expect your kids to spend time in the 'Kids Clubs'? (Are you prepared to only see them at bedtime, lol....some kids would rather stay there all day long, no kidding, lol...) ;-)
My DD 9 is very independant. I usually take DD 3 to work out with me and she is used to childcare. She is very friendly and outgoing. We don't have a lot of time booked in Flounders though.

#8: Are you going Nassau? What are you planning to do in the Bahamas? If not, what are you planning to do on the ship?
Want to go to the casino. DD will be in Flounders. DD and Dh at Dolphin thingy. I have two hours booked at Flounders so we shall see!

#9: Are you going to Castaway Cay? What do you plan to do on the island? If not, what are you onboard plans?
We are just going to relax on Castaway. I have never seen the ocean!

#10: Is there anything else you would like to add? Do you think Tara Laine is nosy/nuts for putting out this post, lol...?

Can't wait to meet my new friends!

I've been packed for a week now lol!

In response to the question earlier. This is our first cruise period for any of us.

Hi Cruisers!! Just got in from being out of town over the weekend and look how far behind I am! Here are answers for my little group of 6 cabins:

#1: About when do you 'think' you will be arriving on the Wonder on Sunday? After church - between 11:15 and 11:30

#2: What dinner seating did you wind up getting? 1st

#3: Do you enjoy any of the late-night music shows (guy who plays James Taylor, etc...) We enjoyed some of the adult games (Wonder Quest, Match Your Mate, etc.) but haven't really gone to listen to music

#4: Once you get yourself situated (luggage/reservations/orientation), how do you plan to spend the first day? (swimming, eating, reading, sleeping, exercising, etc...) We'll be showing our "newbies" around the ship. Kids might swim or play on sports deck.

#5: Do you plan to attend the Goofy Sail-Away Party - after the boat drill? That might be an option if we can all plan on a specific part of the deck. It's a fun party, and it would be a great way to break the ice... It all takes place on Deck 9, I believe -- lots of music, etc...and most of us would be there anyway (which might be rare with a group this size...) Of course! We'll probably be on deck 9, forward starboard side. We like to wave bye to everyone as we sail out.

#6: What activities/amenities are you most looking forward to on this cruise?? the spa!!!!

#7: Do you expect your kids to spend time in the 'Kids Clubs'? (Are you prepared to only see them at bedtime, lol....some kids would rather stay there all day long, no kidding, lol...) ;-) kids will be hanging with others I'm sure (we have mostly teens)

#8: Are you going Nassau? What are you planning to do in the Bahamas? If not, what are you planning to do on the ship? going to the straw market, taking a segway tour, and going to the spa that day

#9: Are you going to Castaway Cay? What do you plan to do on the island? If not, what are you onboard plans? teens are doing the teen wild side, adults going to Serenity Bay (or maybe a couples spa villa ;) )

#10: Is there anything else you would like to add? Do you think Tara Laine is nosy/nuts for putting out this post, lol...? (maybe you shouldn't answer that one, lol) don't think so

Does anyone have a complete list of who's exchanging for the FE's? If not I suppose I can look though previous posts! Also there was a question if we should have a cut off for people to join our FE exchange. I personally am done with buying stuff so anytime such as 7 days before would be great! What do you all think?
