Sailing the Wonder 3/22/09 Who's with us?

Welcome Crayola! I am not too worried about the rain. I hope it is like in Florida where it rains for a bit then is fine for the rest of the day! Temps are in the 80's though which is a plus! We are in the 30's here! I refuse to lug my heavy winter coat around but remember last year when I had a cold at WDW for half of our stay. Not fun! I am sure we will find something to do with ourselves!
I've gotten a short hair cut and just colored my hair last night in prep for the trip. :lovestruc

Glad you followed the breadcrumbs, lol!

Should be a great trip! Just to let you know, the DisBoard crowd will be meeting up on the 10th deck, mid ship, port side for a meet-n-greet immediately following the drill/at the Sail Away party. There are around 15 cabins/50 people congregating there. We plan to wear multi-colored flowered leis for easy spotting.

See you then! :wizard:

Okay - is anyone else still not packed?? Not started?? I have clothes set aside and FE stuff set aside -- but nothing really done -- EEK!!!

I have GOT to get going with this.....somebody smack me into action! :scared1:

There's supposed to be a new dining menu on our ship - just came out...

I'm having a heck of a time finding any details - other than ahi something and a tuna appetizer... I'm anxious for more (non-tuna) items...lol....

Anyone hear anything?

My DH and I have been looking for info on the new menus too! We like you have been unsuccessful. I found someone on the "other" board that just got off the Wonder last week, but he was a first time cruiser, so didn't know how they had changed. I just hope they still have the mango soup. I've never had it (of course this being my first Disney cruise), but have read wonderful things about it and my mouth has been watering ever since.

Don't worry Tara Laine...I haven't started packing either. I've got the FE suit case packed and pulled some stuff out, but still don't know what I want to take so it's been tough.

I'm trying not to stress about the weather. I'm hoping the weatherman is wrong as usual (at least the ones around here), or that the forecast will change between now and next week. If there is rain, we'll make the best of it.

Welcome Crayola!! Glad you finally made it. The other board never got hopping like this one. I only kept going back so you wouldn't be alone.

Everyone have a great week and we'll see you Sunday!! Be careful coming in however that may be!

Kids are packed, I am packed, we have one large suitcase that is just pirate gear for the party and Fish Extender gifts, my wife has yet to pack(she usually is the last one of course because she packs for everybody else). Can hardly keep my mind on work. We fly out on Thursday to Fort Myers for a few days before the cruise. We are planning on making it for the meet and greet but don't know if we will have leis or not but others do so we should be able to find easy enough.

Crayola glad to have you aboard. My sons are 9, 7, 3. So if your the 8 and 9 yo may spend some time together in Oceeneer lab.

Safe travels to all.

Okay - so I have found a picture of exactly where we will be meeting -- this was on another board, but this is where I have in mind for us to be... The picture shows the view from Starboard Side -- we are looking at the crowd on the Port Side...

I'm thinking roughly around where the banner is positioned -- gives a great view of the stage and all of the action. You can still dance - and we definitely will...

This is Deck 10 - Port Side -- :wizard:

Good Morning everyone! :surfweb:
I can't sleep (been up since 3:30 am) because of all things I have to do between now and Friday. :sad2: I've pulled several things out, but have yet to start packing for my family of 5. :scared: :faint:

We're driving as far south as we can on Friday and hope to spend some time at Downtown Disney on Saturday before heading to Port Canaveral. :woohoo:

I think my group has the leis (someone else volunteered to get those for the group) and we'll be on deck 10 ASAP after the drill. Just think, this time next week we'll be pulling into Castaway Cay!!!!! :yay: :dance3:

Hope everyone has safe travels to Florida - looking forward to seeing you on the ship!! pirate:

A picture is worth a million words...

This is an excellent place to meet on Sunday! Woo-hoo!

Found out yesterday that DD's friend from school and her family will also be on the same cruise! Yeah!!

Packed? Not completely. Stressing? Not really. Excited? %&** Yes!

Safe Travels to all...

Cool - glad it looks good to ya!! :thumbsup2 I think/hope there are tables up there - but I'm not positive, to be honest... The party isn't too long, anyway...

Just remember, that area can fill up, so the majority of the family might want to head up to Deck 10 (or wherever your family wants to be) as soon as the Boat Drill is finished. Send an adult back to the room with your life vests and tell them to meet up ASAP... If you do that, there should be no problem getting a space. That's what we did the first time, and the deck was nearly deserted for a minute or two before they got set up. To be honest, we didn't realize where we were for about 5 minutes -- just happened to have been by the stage by luck... :wizard:

Question for those that have cruised before?

When do we change into clothes for dinner?

We have early seating time. Do we need to be in our dinner wear for the sail away party or can we go from sail away party to change and then to dinner? Would probably be a little bit late but didn't know how much it mattered. Would rather not wear evening wear to sail away party. Any help would be appreciated.

Smatterchu & fijidoc - I can't reply to PM's yet - not enough posts. I would love to meet you both and I'm sure the boys will meet somewhere along the way. I'll bring leis and meet you all on Deck 10. The four of us are leaving tomorrow morning and I GOTTA GET PACKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's all good though because I'm off work today and I am an accomplished procrastinator. :woohoo: I have to be done by 1:30 to get my hair done!!

I figure I better start packing tonight :cool1: Still hoping for my upgrade to first class to start the vacation in style LOL

Everyone have a safe trip! See you all Sunday!

I am hoping we make it on the boat by 2:30 at the latest. We get into MCO around 1:05PM. I know we will be famished by then and will have to resist the urge to stop at Nathan's at MCO. My hubby is addicted to them things! I just want to make it on the ship to be able to eat the buffet lol! Of course I want to see all you guys and sail lol! I have been looking at the new menus scoping out what I want to try and I still am adding stuff to my luggage! :lmao:

Hey...where did you see the new menus? I've been looking everywhere for them :surfweb:. No one seems to have copies. A few people have listed a few things on them, but I was wondering what else has changed...I hear they still have the mango soup, so I'm excited about that!
Only 4 more days guys!! Can't wait!!:rotfl:

Hi,
Go into the DCL Forum and at the top it says something like DCL FAQ. Go in there and there are some menus. To me they don't look all that different.
I called DCL and these are the movies that are playing when we go:
High School Musical 3
Beverly Hills Chihuauah? can't spell it lol
Bolt 3d
Hanna Montanna Movie
Confessions of a Shopaholic
Jonas Brothers 3D
Race to Witch Mountain.. want to see this!
and my favorite Pirates of the Caribbean on Pirate nite but I am not sure if it's 1,2, or 3?

Packing is finally done, car is loaded and we leave early in the morning...:yay:

Bon Voyage my fellow DisBoarders! See you Sunday on Deck 10! :grouphug:

Cruise on, mon...:cool2:

I am throwing my last minute stuff in the suitecase as we speak! See everyone at the sail away party! :thumbsup2
