Sailing the Wonder 3/22/09 Who's with us?

Hi,
I think there are 3 or 4 of us now that will have fish extenders. One of us will have to get a list together. We will need cabin numbers and how many in each stateroom from what I see others doing. Each person participting gets a gift. Also I see other groups posting that they are meeting on the ship. I posted a note to see who else is cruising with us but no responses yet. For the fish exchange I bought some pirate rings and some soaker balls which didn't arrive :( I spent around $12.00 for gifts so far...
Anyway, I hope to meet some of you on board!

Perhaps we could schedule a meet and greet the first day...say at the Sail Away celebration at a certain location? Not that familiar with ship locations yet to suggest a site. Anyone else sail before to be able to suggest a good spot??

And yes put Brockster (along with Gram's cabin) & DisneyDan24 down for participating in the Fish Extender gifting.

Since we are from Maryland & PA, thought we'd get lil things from our area. (Crabs & Cheesesteaks, lol!)

I think doing a quick meet and greet on the first day would be fun. We could all meet near Beach Blanket Buffet or Scoops & Mickey's Pool on Deck 9. It might be hard to do something after the first day with everyone going in different directions for excursions, etc., since it is only a 4 day.. If everyone is planning to be at the terminal early, we could meet there but that might be more difficult with everyone coming in from different places...

How many of us are Castaway Club members and how many are first time cruisers? Just curious! :) We live 1.5 hours from Port Canaveral so if anyone needs Florida info, I can help if you like.

I really need to figure out the FE since I am NOT crafty at all...it might not be hard to locate my shambles of a creation onboard! :rotfl:

I am a first timer and find out my flight info tomorrow. At this point I am just hoping to make port by sail time lol! Maybe we could all meet in the atrium or lobby at a certain time? Whatever we decide is fine with me!

The Brockster's are coming in on Sat to relax and visit KSC. :goodvibes

We will be at Port at opening time and hanging around! We we be wearing matching white t-shirts (to be done this weekend). :dance3:

Gram just bought Disney cloth to do the FE.

We are first timers. :yay:

Agree that since it is a short cruise, it might be difficult to schedule an 'event', but if we could just meet, that would be great! :cheer2:

Off to take the munchkin to school. More later! :surfweb:

I put together a listing of the people from this board who said they would be on the 3/22 cruise. How can I attach the pdf? Tried to send PM but it wouldn't go through...?

LMK!:surfweb:

Hi Brockster - thanks for the list of movies you posted! I'm holding out to see "Confessions of a Shopaholic" until the cruise. ;) :thumbsup2

Here is a list of those that I wrote down that are interested in participating in FE:
imanazd
SaveTheSeaTurtles
timkmom2
smatterchu
Brockster

Unsure about:
alittlebitsassy
AuntMinnie12
fijidoc

I have a group with 6 cabins and we will have FEs. Do you want to add our 6 cabins to your FE list? Or does that make it too much (so far that would be a total of at least 11 cabins, maybe 14)? I'm the only DISer, but I plan on giving the others a FE and suggesting that they bring some things to put in them. We would be easy to find, we're on deck 7 with all 6 cabins in a row. :rotfl2: :dance3:
Just let me know if we can join you, or if that makes it a little over-kill for you. :goodvibes

The more the merrier! PM me the listing of your party who will participate in the FEXchange Perhaps list the types of people in each cabin (ie DH, DS15 etc) so we know how many people and if the kids will have a friend in the camp.

I think we will plan to just give one surprise/cabin.

Do you know how to send an attachment? I have a pdf I can PM those that will be participating in the FEXchange.

Anyone else can send me that info to and I'll add to list and get out to everyone by PM.

LMK! Woo-hoo 29 days to go! :cool1:

Hi,
I just got my flight info from DCL so I might not be on board until 3:confused3
We are going to be in 6618 There are Me, DH, DD 3, and DD9. My 3 year old we are putting in Flounders because of the potty training issue. But I am sure my 9 year old will be looking to make some friends aboard! My 3 year old is very social and will probably make a million friends too!
I bought pirate rings and soaker balls. I think might just give those for the kids. I still have time to order some stuff.. So are we giving one gift for each stateroom or for each guest? :teacher:

Yippee ----it will be fun to meet up ! For the FE gifts - what price ranges are we talking about? I really want to do this and am thinking $2-$3 per gift - is that the norm or should it be more than that? :confused3 I don't want to appear cheap if y'all are doing something more than that.

Are you supposed to put names on the gifts so you know who they are from? Finally, it is one gift per person total or one gift per day per person?

Sounds like Brockster and Luv2Travel are taking care of the lists. Brockster - your family should be easy to spot with everyone dressed in white shirts, then. I am not sure what we are wearing yet. We plan to be there by 9:30am - We could wait and drive down later but I love sitting out in the parking lot watching the ship before they open up the terminal to let us in !! I am easily amused, I guess! ;)

I was just reading on another thread about people stealing stuff from the FE's so remember to take them inside your cabin if you are gone for the day on an excursion. I wish people did not see fit to steal those kinds of things but just because it is Disney, doesn't mean that everyone is nice.

I think it might be a good idea if we each made a magnet that has our DIS name on it so we know who each other is...what do you think?;)

Brockster, the movie list is great to have - I didn't think it would be ready yet. There are 4 on that list that we have not seen so we are set! :cool1:

Magnets with DisBoard names is an excellent idea!

Hubby is already packing the zip ties to secure the FE, lol. Surprised he's not putting one of those alarms on, ROTFL!

IMHO, I think one gift/cabin would be sufficient. And yes, I'm all for putting names on it so we know who it's from! And yes $2-3 is probably a good #.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Still figuring out how to attach the PDF listing... :scared:

Be in touch!

Brockster - What if you uploaded the image of the document to a site like Shutterfly or something similar? The only other thing I can think of would be to copy and paste the document contents to this thread..

I agree re: one gift per cabin. It could get pretty costly if we have a larger group.

This cruise is going to be awesome. :cool1: We are planning to do some different things this time. It is our third cruise. The last one was a little over 2 years ago - it was only a 3 day & did not go so well. I got a vicious sunburn on Castaway and was sick the entire last day and night - all I could think of was getting off the ship:sad2: It was all my own fault...I should know better since I live in a climate where sunburns are frequent if you are not careful..but it was February, the weather had been cold the entire time and I was not thinking about it..4 hours later, it was too late :headache:

Are you doing any excursions?

Luv2Travel - Do you know your cabin numbers? I think we are in 7624 or 7623 - can't remember right now.

I just saw the thread about making home made trinkets as FE gifts. We might try that too!:cool1:

My daughter has always wanted to swim with the dolphins. So we are going to do the encounter in Nassau. On CC we are just going to veg out and snorkle in the morning. I bought our own snorkle gear today at Target. Not that I'm a germ-a-phobe, but my cousin got ill a couple of years ago on a DCL due to the mouthpiece. Ended up in the hospital. And it was his honeymoon!

Opinions: Do you think 1 gift/cabin per day? Or just one surprise sometime during the cruise? I'd like to make ours something from our area, but not seeing anything that stands out! Can't bring live crabs,y'know!?

28 more days!! :sail:

I still have to figure out what I want to do for a Fish Extender, but I have already picked up some really fun FE gifts today!! This is where working for Disney has its benefits - I found tons of cool things to choose from!! pirate:

So we figured it out - we're in 2024 - looking forward to getting together whenever we decide...

So far, I don't see anyone with kids my boys' age. Did I miss it? They are 4 years - going to be 5 in April... They had so much fun at the O-Club last year - amazing!! I worried that they wouldn't want to stay, but they didn't want to leave....ever!! :cool1:

Janeen - thanks for the PM -- I can't figure out how to attach. My guess would be to ask folks to PM their e-mail address to you - and just do it that way. Anything that is less trouble for you, I say that's the best option...

We're looking forward to it!! :cheer2:

tinkmom - I thought for some reason that when DCL books the flights, they try for the best possible times. If you cannot be there before 3pm, I would like for us to wait and meet after that so you can participate too ! ;) What time does your flight get in at MCO?

smatterchu - You live in Clermont? We are in Jacksonville. Nice to see another Floridian. :thumbsup2 We don't have any children travelling with us - just the two of us but I look forward to meeting up!

Brockster - I hear you on the germs. :scared1: We have been bringing our own snorkle gear everywhere we go for a few years now. I know that they clean the mouthpiece but I really question how well it is cleaned, especially in some countries where eveything is not as regulated as it is here in the US. There are too many ways of getting ill now so I won't take the chance since it is something that I can easily control. The gear takes up no room in the suitcase....(and the live crabs would be a perfect gift in the FE - I can see that now..:lmao: )

Sounds like a good idea to email list!

For those who would like to participate in the FE exchange, please private message me your email and I will send you the listing.

In the email, put your cabin number and those who are in the cabin with you. If there are others in your party that will be participating, provide that info too!

We can arrange for a public Disboards Meet & Greet on the ship to those that aren't participating in the FEX.

Have a great Sunday! 27 more days!! :tigger:
