One thing is certain. People are justifiably angry about what appears to be the inappropriate use of violence by police officers. Honestly, I am too, and I'm not black. The actions of the police officers have created a desire for people to want to DO something and to be heard. Staging protests is how BLM chooses to be heard. It is a very young and loose knit organization. Many peaceful protests are happening all around the country. I hope that this organization can find a way to merge their goals with clear-headed leaders so their voices can be heard. I don't want to see this movement go the way of the black panthers and become militant.
Their cause is just, if they can reign in the hot heads.
I support law enforcement, but I believe the recent incidents that have incited anger in our country were not handled properly by the individual officers that killed the men. I also think the law enforcement leaders should have come out immediately with strong statements and actions to indicate these events are extreme and the officers should be treated in the same manner as any other murder suspect. Honestly, I am appalled by the events.
